Great restaurant in Astoria NY. Very friendly atmosphere with the owners always there to take care of you. The food is excellent with big portions and great prices. Grill and healthy food. Everything is fresh at this place. Everything is delicious but try the grill sort fish souvlaki with tahini. Excellent selection of wine, very cozy place.

There is a lot of great Greek food in Astoria, so it’s a competitive list. That said, the food at Aliada was excellent. We had the dips, which all tasted very fresh, the Aliada Salad which could have used a little more variety of ingredients but the Octopus was delicious. A very good grilled shrimp and vegetable appetizer and the Swordfish Kebabs are to die for. Overall, it’s a great Greek neighborhood joint. I would have certainly given it 4 stars except I bumped off a star because our waitress was so incredibly rude. While we were looking(a minute at the most) at the menu she came over and barely mumbled to us if we were ready and when we said we needed another minute she huffed and actually rolled her eyes at us, said ‘Ugh’ and walked away. Really unbelievable, it put us in a bad mood for the rest of the meal unfortunately.

Slightly obsessed with their Greek salad. The chicken platter is amazing for $ 15 it comes with great grilled chicken pieces, rice, pita bread that is always piping hot, a small side Greek salad, and a little side of tzaziki then you have a choice of another side I always pick the lemon potatoes. they are amazing. All that food for a great price! I’ve only done take out so I’m not sure how the service is however I am always greeted by friendly staff when I pick up.

My husband and I ate here on Christmas Day. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! I had the fried calamari entrée with rice and asparagus and my husband had their Greek meatball special. The portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. As soon as a dish was empty, someone quickly cleared it from our table and the server was quick to notice a glass approaching empty and brought refills promptly. It is a smaller space, but with the type of service you receive, it is well worth a trip. I used their ladies room, which was very clean, and the owner was going from table to table to see how everything was. My husband and I will be sure to return. This restaurant is a wonderful little gem in Astoria!!!

As you enter the place you are welcomed by a magnificent Greek/Cypriot hospitality. Sitting in any table you have a wonderful view of the workshop-like kitchen where you can see the chefs working. The menu offers a wide variety of flavorful starters. Some of my favorites are kopanisti, greek sausage. octopus and eggplant rolls. The main course consisted of the best lamp chops w/lemon potatoes in Astoria which really thrilled me. All this followed by «on the house“greek traditional dessert. You can never go wrong with Aliada !!

Amazing Greek food! Tons of traditional stuff, but also some more exotic for those looking to try something new. I had the Pulled Lamb Sandwich which was cheap($ 12) and also a pretty great portion. The sandwich was delicious and the fries were some of the best I ever had. My girlfriend got the Falafel Sandwich($ 8) and she loved that as well. I sneaked a bite and approve of it as well. The beer selections was pretty small but they were only $ 5, not bad and no certain hours required. The wine list was very extensive and of course specialized in greek wines. I didn’t try them but they were reasonably priced by the glass as well. Don’t let the white table clothes fool you, this place isn’t an expensive or fancy place. I think it would make a great date and they even gave us dessert on the house. We are definitely going back!

Get the mezzes special. A ridiculously large amount of food prepared with care and high quality. The dips are delicious and varied. The kebabs, souvlaki, calamari, and broiled mushrooms were my favorite. Great selection of wines as well. Terrific service.

Been eating here for at least ten years mainly ordering one of the salads. It used to be awesome, very fresh seafood, good portions. The last couple years this place has really gone down hill. Ate here today and the salad was pretty gross, the calamari was old and rancid tasting, the octopus was mealy and mushy, and the shrimp were like rubber. Disappointed, will not ever return, definitely not worth it.

Fly in my cheese! I used to come here 8 years ago and was a wonderful place. Yesterday I was hungry and in the neighborhood I decided to go here with many memories of delicious meals, despite the fact that a good friend had told me that the place was no longer good. I had to leave the place without eating!!! first got my salad that was ok, followed by yummy fried cheese that they do, only, and to my disgust the lemon in the plate had already being used by another customer, when I tell them they just change the lemon, I look closer at my plate and guess what??? I FRIEDFLY came on the cheese! It was fried!!! A fried fly! Yuk yuk yuk! The place also looked pretty dirty, smelled unclean and the bathroom was disgusting This place is dirty and badly managed! Very sad as it was a great place to eat yummy Greek food!

Excellent food and the service was just as good. Fabulous waiter who’s recommendations were right on. Great lemon potatoes, Branzino was amazing — and they deboned it. Greek wine was perfect with the meal. They started us with complimentary hummus and pita and ended the meal with a comforting(like rice pudding in a kugel) dessert. Highly recommend.

The service is very nice and friendly, but the food is not super special. The grilled shrimp was expensive and the rice kind of plain. The fried eggplant and zucchini were good but needed more seasoning or salt. Although though everyone was very nice I don’t think I’m going back for this price. Sorry.

Let me start by saying: for me 1 star means fear for your life, your safety, or expect to have a truly miserable time; 2 stars means I will eat the food, but I won’t enjoy it; 3 stars for me means the food is pretty good/desirable; 4 stars means it is exceptional and I LOOOVE it. 5 stars means it will go down in my memory as one of my most beloved and memorable dining experiences across the 7 continents(NOT that I would go here every day,(because I probably could not afford to if it’s that good) but that I would go here on perhaps THE most important day.) I have only had 2 dishes at this place though I have eaten there several times and ordered take out once: the grilled calamari and the Greek salad. Both are so delicious and– minus the feta cheese– good for those who are trying to keep off the pounds that I have not gotten to the rest of their menu. The service… well it COULD be friendlier, but it’s okay. These folks work hard and there is very nice outdoor seating. I’ll keep going here and I’ll bring friends.

So disappointing after seeing good reviews. We sat outside(today when it was 90 degrees at 8pm) because it was hotter inside than out. It took us almost 10 minutes to even get menus, and the complementary hummus looked like a cat had thrown up on the plate(it was even splashed around). We only had our waters filled once, even though there was a waiter loitering around with water the entire time. The food was incredibly underwhelming… not gross, just completely bland. The tzatziki was a grainy, watery mess, and the souvlaki(I had the souvlaki pita sandwich) was fine, but flavorless. All in all, don’t bother coming here. Order Zorbas and sit at home in the air conditioning and be in Greek food heaven.

Best gyro I’ve had so far… I have yet to try more in Astoria but so far this one wins… in life(SOFAR). Hopefully I find an even better one someday but if I die having this be the last gyro I ever tasted, I’d be satisfied. That’s gotta count for something.

Pretty good crab cake. One order comes with 4 small crab cakes & I think it is a chipotle mayo. Delivery was behind schedule but I guess they didn’t start delivering until 30 mins after my order was received via Seamless. A call would’ve been nice but whatever.

I came here with my boyfriend on a Monday night. It was quiet; there were only a few people dining. The waiter seated us immediately and served us water, warm pita bread and hummus. He took our orders and we waited about 15 mins for our entrees. The hummus did not taste like the hummus I am used to eating. The consistency was thinner than most. I ordered the mousaka with lemon potatoes and grilled asparagus. The Mousaka had a mint taste to it, which I was not fond of the flavor. The portion was on the smaller side. The potatoes were good, but not as lemony as I hoped for. My boyfriend ordered the shieftalia, which I liked. It was ground pork, spices and pieces of onions rolled into a sausage. It was served with rice, which I found to be bland and mushy. Our waiter was attentive and nice. He kept filling our glasses with water. He even brought us free desserts!

Really fresh and delicious Mediterranean food. I’ve ordered a salad from here on Seamless before and it was incredible. Came here for lunch on Saturday and the restaurant was pretty quiet. I made a reservation on Opentable, but it wasn’t necessary. although I did want the points for it. They start you off with some pita bread and a small taste of hummus. Pretty good. I had the grilled calamari & shrimp combo with asparagus and it’s also served with a rice pilaf. Everything was grilled perfectly. Add a squeeze of lemon and the meal was complete. Service was attentive and everyone was very friendly.

Aliada is just ok. We came with friends. The service was meh, the food was meh. The octopus is incredibly over priced for how much food they give you. It’s just a basic Greek restaurant. I had a salad with chicken, tasty but mostly the same everywhere. The hummus was oddly watery, just keep an eye out there. The pita did stand out.

A pricey but very clean and elegant ambiance. The staff was friendly but not the most attentive. We sat there for almost 2 hours and they never offered to refill our glasses with water. Weird, huh? They serve complimentary pita bread with a side of homemade chunky hummus. Yum! When we asked for more pita, the waiter gave us a new batch but did not offer any hummus.(What’s that all about?!) Oh well. For an appetizer, we ordered the fried calamari. Crispy, light and not heavy on the oil. The side marinara was delicious too. Loved it! My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the grilled octopus and calamari! Oh man, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had — tender, juicy and tasty with herbs and lemon with the perfect amount of char. Definitely worth getting even if it’s $ 25 with a side of lemon rice and your choice of asparagus, lemon roasted potatoes or French fries. The last thing you should get is a gyro… not very appetizing because of its overload messiness and dryness. All in all, order seafood here. Always fresh and never disappoints! I’ll definitely be back for more seafood.
