Watch your asses, Brooklyn Bagel. This is the first bagel I’ve had in New York that competes fairly with my beloved. Their whole wheat everything was large, deliciously chewy and beautiful to look at. It’s glossy sheen beckons as if to say, «Come, eat me. I will take care of your morning hunger pangs and leave you satisfied until you come back downstairs and order another bagel, because listen here you little tease, I own you now. I OWNYOUNOW!!!» It got a little intense. I had to tell the employee making my bagel(who was so nice and informed BTW) to add a little extra bacon scallion cream cheese to mine to make up for it’s hefty size. I’m glad I asked, because the result was perfection. My friend was so into his sausage, egg and cheese on sesame that he popped downstairs after our meeting to bring a baker’s dozen back to Manhattan with him. Bagel Nosh did not disappoint, and now I have yet another reason to miss living in Astoria.

Good, reliable bagels! They have a great selection of cream cheeses. They are also open later than a lot of other bagel places in the neighborhood — big plus!

I keep giving this place another chance against my better judgment, but almost every single time, I’m disappointed. I place an order on seamless because I’m in a rush, 20 minutes later, it’s not made. Why?! I waited for the cream cheese on whole wheat sandwich despite being extremely late, whatever. Then when I open it, they used the end of the bread loaf. Who does that ??? Either my order is wrong, or on the off chance that it’s correct, it’s inedible. I have to learn from my mistakes and stop coming here on the once a month occasion that I feel like a cream cheese sandwich.

This place is an underrated hidden gem of a bagel shop. There bagels are always hot and fresh, tasty, their breakfast sandwiches are deeeeelishhhh!!! good quality, good flavor, little pricier than other bagel shops bit worth it. My fiancé and I always enjoy our food from here. Also the employees are so friendly, sweet, welcoming, nice, and attentive. They go beyond to make you great food and to have you leave with a smile and a satisfied tummy! definitely recommend and will be backkk!!!

I’ve been coming here for years because of its proximity to my apartment, but no more. There was no line this morning but even so the guy hurried me to order while I was still trying to decide. I went with my go-to: lightly toasted bagel with lox, cream cheese, tomatoes, onions, and capers. I used to get this and a coffee for around $ 10 — today the bagel alone was $ 12.95. I said, «That can’t be right, all I got was a lox bagel sandwich — it says $ 9.95 on the board.» The guy at the counter explained that because I got cream cheese and veggies, it was more. Excuse me but wtf comes on a lox sandwich? I would think that at least the cream cheese would be included… There are about a half dozen other bagel shops within walking distance, check out one of those instead.

It’s your average bagel. The flavored cream cheese is good so are the cupcakes and muffins. Close to the train. Friendly service

Anytime I’ve come here — I’ve had a good experience and the staff(to me) is pretty nice. The owner is a great guy and has gone out of his way on a couple of occasions to make sure I’m happy. I’m not the pickiest guy in the world– my big standard is customer service– treating the customer right-THAT this place does well as far as I’m concerned.

In all fairness, the food is pretty decent. The ingredients are relatively fresh and the most of the staff is pretty helpful. Also, I live really close, so it’s a great fix in the morning. HOWEVER, I honestly wish that they wouldn’t charge you different prices EVERYSINGLETIME that you shop there. Depending on who’s at the register, you can get charge +/-$ 2. Sometimes your bagel is $ 5.45, others it is $ 8. That is unacceptable and they should either memorize the prices or make sure that there’s some consistency.

Ive given this place its fare shot and it seems to disappoint me each time. Either the Spanish guy or the black guy is there and neither of them know whats going on. The black guy who is always there barely says hello and you can’t even understand what he’s saying. He always forgets some part of my order and when then don’t realize until i get to where Im going to eat it. The spanish guy is very nice but I feel like he has over charged me. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, yogurt, water and a coffee it came out to about $ 15.00 its like he just made up the prices. He said the prices went up? well my paycheck didn’t go up! Have a sign posted that your prices went up! Ice coffee taste stale and watered down and the food should be a lot better for NYC. Sorry, find a better bagel place. Hope this helps.

So I’ve been here now a handful of times thanks to their proximity to both my apartment and the 30th ave N/Q train station… every time I’ve come here with my boyfriend has been because the line for Brooklyn Bagel Co. has been aggressively out the door. My most recent jaunt here was with Ingrid S. and because we needed to quickly scurry into the city and Bagel Nosh wins for being by the train… I’ve had their egg bagels, their everything bagel and most recently I had their sesame seed flat bagel(I was curious, k?). Spreads-wise I’ve had their garlic cream cheese, dill cream cheese and bacon * scallion cream cheese. Their bagels aren’t outstanding or award-winning, but they have fulflled my bagely bagel needs on more than one occasion and can fulfill yours too in a pinch. The quality of their cream cheese is fantastic and pretty much on point with any gourmet bagel shop. Where Bagel Nosh can definitely use some work in with their iced coffee. I’ve always ordered their Vanilla or Hazelnut Iced Coffees and been content, but recently Ingrid S. ordered a regular iced coffee and it tasted rather chemical/artificial…reminded me of *gasp* plain Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, which as anyone who knows me knows, I find to be disgusting and medicine-flavored. Come to Bagel Nosh for a bagely bagel with cream cheese or some other type of mayo-based salad spread… don’t stay for a plain coffee, go the flavored route… oh and baked goods, the muffins here look bangin’! 3 stars for A-OK. EDIT: $ 2 for plain roll with a butter?! Usually it’s .50-$ 1.00 depending on where you go… this isn’t a fancy place and it’s not a fancy brioche roll. Ridiculous. 2 stars.

It’s a better than average bagel but not at your Brooklyn Bagel or gourmet bagel shop level. I may have even pushed it up to 4 stars because they had an exquisite variety of cream cheeses ranging from dill, bacon scallion, your regular veggie, scallion, strawberry, lox spread, olive, jalapeño, to more exotic tuscan blend, spinach/artichoke, and a large variety of tofu blends. Good texture in bagels and good flavor. They even have flat bagels(Flagels!). I had asked though for a special cream cheese blend they had of lox mixed in with scallions and he misheard me I guess and threw on garlic scallion. Both great sounding things but they messed up my morning bagel being a first timer here. Again, the bagel tasted pretty good. Not of outstanding quality. But if the line is super long at Brooklyn Bagel, I see this as being a viable option and a much cheaper option to make note, if you live in the neighborhood. Though, again, I pushed a star back also because their coffee was horrible. It tasted like day old folgers with that slightly rusty undernote and had that just poured over ice with some skim milk and splenda. Dear Lord, for the first time in my life I didn’t want to finish my daily fix of caffeine.

Place is terrible. We ordered from grub hub and they got the order wrong. We’ve called twice in 2 hours and still nothing. Don’t give them your money.

Been here a couple times after my closer bagel shop failed me one too many times. Turns out, Bagel Nosh has my favorite whole wheat everything bagel in Astoria. I don’t know what makes it better but it is. The taste is on point. The manager(owner?) Is realy nice and welcoming when you come in the door. He double checks your order to make sure you get what you want and he is happy to accomodate special requests. Last order I got a turkey club on whole wheat everything. It was HUGE. and delicious. The man got egg, cheese & bacon on a WHE. Both were fresh and perfect. Def coming back.

Love this place. I went in only a few times and they got to know my order. Now when I walk in, my bagel is already in the toaster. That’s service you don’t see much these days. A good bagel spot is a necessity for the neighborhood. And they have mini bagels — love it!

You know that famous photo of Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield? Brooklyn Bagel is Jayne Mansfield’s cleavage. Buxom village is right down the street. Bagel Nosh might be a somebody somewhere else, and sure, it will have less people fighting over it for that reason, but how can you think about anything else with THOSE staring you in the face? Sorry, Bagel Nosh. I hope you’ve found this analogy helpful.

Bagel Nosh would be a stand-out anywhere but New York. But with Brooklyn Bagel down the street, it earns a solid three stars. (The dill cream cheese was creamy and deeply flavored. The bagel wasn’t toasted enough.)
