Anyone that gives this place less the 5 is just a miserable person. I am a local in the neighborhood, and this is my go to place for a coffee and bagel. Employee are all very helpful and friendly. The ambiance is great and sometimes I go in there and stay for an hour or two and work. I have brought all my friends here and they enjoy it as well. Food is fresh and delicious and the portions are huge. Coffee is fresh and the have everything you can ask for to put in it. Big fan and you should be too!

Shrimp and crab salad on an everything bagel with tomatoe and onions for $ 8.16. It’s a huge fluffy bagel. Both sides were fluffy like they were both tops and we’re crunchy just right on the outside. Glad I came in here after my brunch plans fell through. Would come back to try something else for sure.

Great trendy spot for an evening coffee! Had the Chai Latte with my boyfriend and we both agreed it was very well made. Definitely would come back again!

NYC Bagel and Coffee house is a nice place to study, The have outlets at every table on the wall so you’re plugged-in and charged. The baristas are really nice as well. You can order bagels, sandwiches and of course, coffee, and there also is a to-go area with cold drinks and snacks. I didn’t test the wi-fi when I was there, but no one around me seemed to be complaining. The music here is a bit loud, so make sure you bring headphones if you’re sensitive.

Coffee is weak $ 3 for 2 eggs on a roll or bagel It’s a nice establishment, nice addition to the neighborhood, but I think overall their prices are way too high

More like a 3.5. But I bumped it up .5 stars since the inside was decorated nicely, it was clean and they offer free wifi/power outlets! They do have a wide variety of bagels, muffins, pies, donuts… all things you’d want in a bakery. The prices are a little high but I guess for the neighborhood and location — it’s well understood. I had a slice of apple pie and it tasted delicious. The apples were fresh and the slice was definitely a little larger than I was expecting. Overall, it was a good experience.

A more upscale bagel spot on the other side of Steinway. I thought it was worth checking out especially since other bagel spots on the street were far busier. I got my usual bagel and spread, everything and bacon scallion with an orange juice and the service was friendly but it’s really not as good as BK bagel down the street. I thought it was okay but why have hamburger when you can have steak down the street?

Better than any Manhattan bagel shop. The coffee is amazing including the ice brew in the summer. If you are a coffee lover they have one of the best Cortado’s in town. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are inviting and amazing. A new daily stop for me. Great job.

Best bagel/breakfast spot for me on any given day. Even their whole wheat bagels are on point! Love trying their different cream cheeses and the muffins, omg the muffins. so delish! Employees are always friendly and it’s never overly crowded.

This place has good bagels and coffee. It’s just like any other of the 10 million coffee shops in Astoria. 90% of my review is based on the gorgeous tanned man who was working the registered today around noon. 10/10, will come back to stare at you while I stuff my face with bagel.

This bagel and coffee house has been a blessing to me. The impressive variety of cream cheese offered at this café together with great quality coffee is unbeatable in this part of town. Tofu scallion cream cheese has become a personal favorite. It has smoother and lighter texture than regular cream cheese. They have the usual fancier lox spread, low-fat, and less commonly available types like cinnamon, raisin and walnut. Their pastries on display tempt every patron standing in line to order. that almond croissant, oversized doughnuts with icing, muffins and pies. The $ 3 fresh-squeezed orange juice is a staple for my dose of vitamin C. I’m thankful for their steal cut oatmeal, yogurt parfait, and breakfast egg wrap contributing to a balanced diet for me. When I’m in a «breakfast for dinner» mood, this is my go-to spot as well, because it stays open until 10pm and serves everything on its menu until them. Some folks associate the space with being hipster but I tend to disagree. It’s just a cool spot(with wifi) for people to hang out or sit with their laptop that serves quality food and coffee. It’s a neighborhood gem.

A local bagel shop(not called Dunkin Donuts) with a good selection of bagels and cream cheeses is absolute heaven for New Yorkers that enjoy a hearty breakfast to start their day. Manhattan is filled with inconsistent quality on this front, but glad to see that Astoria now has a go-to spot for those who enjoy their one heavy carbohydrate meal for the day and a cup of Stone Street coffee to wash all that down. The shop boasts a solid selection of bagels that come in standard and miniature sizes, and of course, an amazing variety of cream cheeses. The tofu cream cheeses(tofu vegetable and tofu scallion) are to die for. Vegans rejoice. The breakfast egg wraps are not shabby either. The staff is warm and delightful. The barista hats are a nice touch and perfectly captures the vibe of the spot as a trendy café-like establishment for the yuppies of Astoria and a reliable every-day breakfast spot for the old-school Astorians.

There are so many bagel and coffee shops in Astoria, it’s easy for a new shop to get lost in the pool. The first few times here, the coffee and the pastries didn’t really impress me– I have another favorite nearby for bagels. Most recently, I randomly decided to go with the blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. My regular weekend bagel spot also offers the same, but NYCBCH’s version was much better. The bagel was much chewier in a good way, and the blueberry cream cheese was a great texture– it even had chunks of blueberry. I love the ambiance– the décor is very relaxed and the staff keeps everything very clean. I can definitely see myself hanging out here in the morning. I am looking forward to trying their strawberry cream cheese. I’m not usually a fan of fruit flavored cream cheeses but their blueberry really got to me and I want more!

I think this is my favorite bagel place in Astoria so far(compared to Bagel Nosh and Brooklyn Bagel). I actually got the same combination at all 3 spots to keep it simple and make analysis easier because I’m a nerd, a toasted plain everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese, can’t go wrong. New York City Bagel and Coffee House was definitely my favorite when it comes to taste, price, and service. This bagel was the biggest out of the 3 bagel spots and definitely the doughiest and softest. This is a matter of personal preference where Brooklyn Bagel seems to make them a bit crispier. Preferences aside, New York City Bagel served up my bagel the fastest with the friendliest service and at the cheapest price($ 3.82 total with tax). I’d definitely come back here to try other menu items for sure. Especially to grab a couple donuts from the infamous Dough(Brooklyn/Manhattan) which is super convenient!

I’ve been here three or four times. The best thing about this place is the décor, ambiance, ample seating, and no long lines. Taste of the food= meh. Definitely edible but pales in comparison to Brooklyn Bagel. I’m talking the bagels themselves(I’ve tried a couple diff ones), the spreads(I’ve tried a couple diff flavors of the tofu cream cheeses as I don’t eat regular dairy cream cheese), and the coffee… Decent. Fresh. Fine. But just not nearly as good as your competitors down the street, sorry! Overall — It’s good. It’s just not the best.

Although their coffee is just alright and bagel…(well, I am not too picky about my bagels), this place gets a 5 star from me. It is hard to find a coffee house that’s got the right vibe, the open space, the free wifi, the awesome deco and the reasonably priced items WITHOUT being overcrowded. At other coffee shops, there are long lines or it’s hard to even find a seat. So this is the perfect place to grab some coffee and bagels to get some work done or just catch up with friends with no hassle! Pros: –Bagels: they are giant and fluffy! Lots of flavors to choose from. Mini vs Regular size. They also have Gluten Free. And reluctant to try, but they also have a tofu cream cheese, if you are into the healthy business. Really comparable to other bagel places. –Extensive menu with reasonable prices –Free wifi –Open space: Great atmosphere. Lots of seating with plugs. Not too crowded Cons: –The coffee/latte could be better –The music choice could be better Recommended? Sure, I am just hoping this place won’t get too popular. I need the tables.

I spent my work-from-home day at NYCBCH, based on the recommendation that it’s the best café in Astoria. It has a cozy and relaxed atmosphere with very friendly and easygoing staff, has free WiFi, and an extensive menu, including bagels, smoothies, wraps, pastries, and beverages. Plus, the décor and the bathroom are adorbs. The music, while really catchy, is a bit too loud, so it’s not the greatest place to go and read/study/write. I got the iced French vanilla latte, and it was $ 6 — overpriced in my opinion. It wasn’t the best one I’ve had so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Regardless, I enjoyed my time here and I’ll be back to try other things.

A little pricey, but I love that they have the«mini» bagel options(which are normal bagel size to any non-NYer). Tons of different cream cheeses which I would love to go back and try. Very friendly staff, which is a huge plus seeing as the other bagel spot I used to hit up in the area had the worst owner/manager. I’ll be back!

NYCBH is definitely still working out the kinks. I went in on a Saturday morning around 10, and ordered a mini whole wheat everything bagel with their cream cheese of the week(fig, prosciutto and Gorgonzola cream cheese) which sounded out of this world. Unfortunately, I never got to taste it. Halfway home I opened my bagel to find it stuffed with some buffalo chicken type of mixture. The bagel was also not whole wheat everything, just regular everything. I tried half of the bagel and the good news is that whatever chicken salad they put in it was good… just not what I wanted. Especially not at 10 am, since it did have a kick. The cashier had rung up my order correctly and the receipt attached matched up to what I had asked for. It was just the bagel and spread that were off. So like, everything was off. This place definitely gets points for décor though, the space is open and nicely decorated with hipster wooden stools and cool lighting. Their front doors also open so you’re kind of dining al fresco. I also appreciate the mini bagels they have, which are still substantial enough to make for a solid breakfast without making you feel so full that you enter into a bagel food coma for the rest of the afternoon. I’ll be back for round two — I just hope they’re still serving that cream cheese. I’ll be dreaming about it until then.
