This is the most depressing place I have been to in a long time. It would only be more depressing if they used the back patio for abortions

Great bar for hanging out and catching some local live music. Also a great bar for darts. They have two darts boards and tons of room to throw. Nice outdoor area. Bartenders are extremely friendly and generous. The owner Barry is a really nice guy and the bar has a fun neighborhood vibe to it. I play in astoria plays darts and we play at the Olde Prague on Mondays and it’s always a great time!

This bar has a lot going on — good variety of beer, room to dance and play darts and for those of you who like big screen tvs playing sports nonstop, there’s even something for you. My friends remarked at the glory of the quantity of beer for the price and the quality — they were impressed. We did make a dance floor for ourselves and although we didn’t seem to fit in with the crowd, no one was aggressive or bothered us. A good time was had by all.

This place might look like just another bar in queens but it’s got all the makings of a standout bar. Great music, chill people, friendly owner who’s around most nights and a hidden outside seating area. Don’t miss checking this place out!!!

I came here on a Saturday night to play beer pong ended up winning the tournament and got a $ 50 bar credit. AWESOME! I also came here for some world cup games. There is a good setup for sports with a huge tv screen. Had a really good time. The regulars are all pretty cool I will definitely come back here. Did I mention 3rd round is on the house!!!

Great place to grab a drink, pregame, late night or in between. Cool bartenders with heavy hand… 3rd round on the house you cant beat that in Astoria! They have like a 90 inch tv screen to catch sports games pretty awesome. They also have some very good bands that perform, dj’s, darts… there is always something fun going on here! And oh yeah… ladies night Thursday 2For1 drink specials! Always a good time at Olde Prague!

I love this place — it’s a hidden little gem in Astoria underneath the subway line. The bartenders are nice, down to earth and great if you’re looking to strike up a conversation on a quiet night. It gets crowded late night on the weekends but it makes it that much better. Definitely a place to catch if you’re in Astoria and looking for something a bit different.

A fun, relaxed, cozy vibe. What really won me over, though, was when I went to close my tab. The bartender handed me my card and then said, «Okay, Davina, this last one’s on the house.» Free is for me.

Was sad to hear that this place has changed hands and they no longer serve food. I don’t know how I will ever satisfy my Olde Prague nostalgia now…

This place was so much fun. The sign that was outside is a great attention getter. «beer pong, winner get alcohol worth up to $ 50 at bar»… The beer pong tables creates new friendships. The DJ was playing a variety of music, kept the fun going. Place where you can find soul mates of all ages.

Beers for fairly cheap. I had some kind of mac and cheese with sausage in it. It was great.

New beers are hard to come by, so this place is good for curious drinkers. The ambiance here is really relaxed. I love the wooden furniture, etc. Juke box has some great selections and is accessible to all, like that everyone can find something to play. I enjoy their open mic set up; they’ve got a great sound system and nice mics. Shows are probably really good with the way the seating area is arranged — but I haven’t been to one yet. Also, they have an enormous TV. And coffee all the time. I heard there’s an outdoor area now, which I will be checking out tonight! Bonus: Eddie/Nimrod is my favorite bartender ever. Mimosa Eddie.

Olde Praugue Tavern is a top notch, indoors beer hall more so than a «bar» complete with long, sprawling wooden beer garden inducing table/benches. Great for group outings or one-on-one dates. Bartenders here are really friendly(shout out to Roman and the owner Barry! :D). I’ve been here about 2 or 3 times now and considering that this place is relatively new(and newish places tend to have kinks that need to be worked out) they’ve got a great thing going! My first time here was during the evening of St. Patrick’s day and they were welcoming and just had an awesome vibe that many bars don’t have on such an illustrious alcoholic holiday — the crowd was mature, the green clothing was free flowing and most importantly things like service, wait time and pour quality did NOT suffer. So in line with Prague(the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. It is the fourteenth-largest city in the European Union — YOU’REWELCOME: D) they carry several imported Czech brews(try Golden Pheasant!) and a small selection of your average domestic fare. On hand are also a nice selection of signature(I think… sorta) expertly mixed cocktails. I kept ordering a Bailey’s, Whipped Cream Pinnacle vodka and Amaretto concoction that had me swooning(and it wasn’t a hangover in a glass, I’m a pro — what messed me up later was 2am street meat… back to my tale.) and later my friend who loved this delicious drink as much as I did. Seriously it was super, Roman’s idea and so ridiculously creamy and smooth — without being toooooo creamy. In terms of food I tried their kielbasa and chorizo Mac & cheese dishes(respectively), their potato and cheese pierogies(also with chorizo at some point), the basket of french fries and a few of their other great Czech craft brews besides Golden Pheasant. The mac & cheese dishes were delicious, flavorful and not too much cheese but really centered around the meat toppings of our choice. The pierogies were fantastic and normally I hate pierogies at bars(I’m glaring at you Bohemian Beer Hall) and the fries were golden, crunchy and delish. Aside from beer and liquor they also have a pretty encompassing menu of coffees, lattes, espresso and all things that caffeine-lovers would love. They’ve got a pretty impressive looking coffee machine thing that looks like it may have cost the price of two Vespas or perhaps a cheap smart car, lol. Definitely a top notch place and I think they do buybacks for each 3rd drink like The Quays does… or so I’ve heard :).

I really like this bar. A lot. It’s like a German beer hall gone Czech. Or if you don’t know what the hell Czech Republic is like just imagine Poland/Hungarian food/beer. It’s all alike. Anyway! Long wooden beer tables. Very spacious beer hall with fantastic staff. It wasn’t crowded at all for being the day before St. Pat’s day which I like because I hate people. The brews on tap are all Eastern European and ones of which I’ve never tried but really great tasting. The beer steins are wider than normal. Deceiving to the eye. You really are consuming like 2 pints of beer per stein. We also ended up ordering crazy cocktails of whipped cream vodka and amaretto that whoever was on staff that night thought would be a good combination with baileys and it totally was amazing. Also, an interesting menu of appetizers. We split among a small group: cheese and potato pierogi, also pierogi with chorizo. Much better tasting than I’ve had at other beer halls. This was the legit shit. They have different types of small plates of mac and cheese with chorizo, pork belly, and kielbasa. Also, we split a few orders of wedge fries which you can get with different mayos and sauces. Great food all around. Macaroni is more based on flavor than cheesiness which I kind of like because sometimes too much cheese is just too much and the meats created a great sauce. I’m really shocked that this place is affiliated with the Quays though because I wasn’t impressed with their other bar and this just seems fun.

I don’t usually go for bars with a customer base made up of mostly old men, but for Olde Prague, I’ll change my ways. The place itself is dark, woody and divey with a bar at the front and tables in the middle/back. The table area looks like what would happen if a church and a bar had a baby. They have TV’s all over the place and always have signs advertising upcoming soccer games. The great thing about this bar is how genuine it is. They don’t pretend they’re some trendy, hipster bar with locally brewed craft beers. They serve Czech beer. And they love it. And they want you to love it. Especially if you’re a lady cause then you get in on the 2 for 1 ladies night specials, heyyooo! You’ll inevitably meet Roman(emphasis on the –an), the nighttime bartender who’ll tell you about every beer on the menu, let you sample a few and then compliment your decision no matter what it is. He’ll also tell you about the espresso machine because they paid $ 6,000 for it, goddammit! Speaking of espresso, if you go in the mornings, you can pick up a good latte for about $ 2 – 3. I wanted to end this review by saying cheers in Czech but Roman made me try too many beers and now I can’t remember it. Beer 1, Tessa 0.

The Olde Prague Tavern is a new Bar & Restaurant that opened on Super Bowl Sunday. It is located on 31st Street, right off 30th Ave which use to housed Zlata Praha. I think I am going to love The Olde Prague Tavern. From the moment I walked in, I felt«Welcome, Special and Appreciated». What more can you ask for. Roman, the friendly bartender with a smile and Barry, the owner, also with a smile. They are a welcome addition to a neighborhood that sometimes bars and restaurants don’t make you feel«Welcome, Special, and Appreciated». They are spoiled because 30th Avenue is so busy that they don’t need to make you feel«Welcome, Special and Appreciated». The Olde Prague Tavern was going through some opening pains last night. This is to be expected with all new operations, but how they handle the hiccups without alienating customers and making fun of the situation; was well done. While trying to fix Direct TV on the televisions, Barry the owner somehow blew the outlet with a beautiful display of sparks. Now this was a non dangerous situation, but the humor that followed was very entertaining. The Bar did not lose a beat with the dozen or so customers. All join in with«cracks» because no one had a flash light. Priceless. The Olde Prague Tavern is a full bar with tasty Czech Beers on tap and a nice espresso machine. It has all your standard beers and liquors, but I did notice some Czech specialties. I am sure with the coming months, they will add drink specials, Happy Hour, Czech specialty drinks, etc., etc. The restaurant(food part) will be opening in a couple of months and I look forward to some tasty food. Overall, I highly recommend The Olde Prague Tavern. Like I said, it just opened and The Bar and Restaurant needs to get their feet wet. It has to take that new edge of the wall and acquire that warm fuzzy feeling that is all good. They are certainly on the right track with Barry and Roman. Competition is fierce on 30th Ave, but if they make everyone feel«Welcome, Special and Appreciated» one customer at a time, The Olde Prague Tavern will be successful. All the Best…
