The worst restaurant to eat at. The food is so horrible and also their management. He likes calling his customers bitches. He yells at his employees, curses at them. I would never eat here because he’s not clean.

DONOTGIVEREDCHILIYOURBUSINESS! WARNYOURFRIENDS! ** INSHORT: The owner cursed out a very sweet waitress loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. He also called my friend and I bitches. Hope this is helpful. ** I really enjoyed the soup at Red Chili and went there regularly, got to know the waitress and really liked the restaurant. Unfortunately, my view of this restaurant has been tainted because of my experience earlier this evening. My friend and I had just placed our usual order with the very nice waitress and a minute later we hear the owner yelling at(who we believe to be) the nice waitress in the back, by the kitchen. It went a little something like this, «You f***ing listen to me when I tell you to f***ing listen to me.» I know I heard the f-bomb a few more times but couldn’t understand him. He then walked into the dining room toward the register. My friend and I immediately got up to leave. We told the owner to cancel our order, to which he responded a careless, «okay, okay» and we left. As we were walking out, a man was giving the owner his resume and we told the man that he may not want to apply here. A few minutes later, we were talking outside the restaurant, the man looking to apply came out and told us that the owner called us bitches as we left. I’ll wear the title bitch proudly if it means they lose all their customers and have to close down. I sincerely hope they go out of business. The owner is scumb. Also, that one star is only because I had to give it a rating to post. They don’t deserve it.

Here’s the cliff notes: Their chili paneer is off the hook, but they will force you to eat a goat, insist a completely incorrect dish is correct, and refuse to refund you the full amount unless you give them a nickel. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Oooooh boy, I was so excited when this place opened-and within a block from my apartment! My first experience was almost entirely positive, I ordered the chili paneer and the bean curd with vegetables for take-out. The restaurant was completely empty, but when I got home and tried the food I couldn’t understand why! A couple weeks later I went back for more of the chili paneer. I tried to order ahead of time online for pick up, but… there was no phone number, menu, or anything online, so I went in person. Again the restaurant was empty and when I walked in the hostess jumped and said I scared her. This time, things didn’t go as smoothly. I again ordered the chili paneer and bean curd with vegetable, and confirmed that both of these would be vegetarian. I walked around the block to kill time, then came back to pick up my order, which to my surprise was now vegetables with goat! I explained that I did not want the goat dish, just the cheese dish. The hostess seemed irritated and said they were«the same.» Any vegetarian knows, however, that goat is not the same as no goat. Anyways, after explaining quite a few times that I couldn’t eat the goat, they remade it for me as I walked around the block some more. Anyways, after a few weeks I forgave them for pushing the goat on me, as their chili paneer was so good. So, third time… my girlfriend called in an order that I would pick up on my way home-no easy task mind you, as they have no website, phone number or online ordering capabilities-in fact she had to go in person, ask for a phone number, and was told to call the burger place(Burger Shack) next door and that they could get the call. So I show up to pick up the order, and there is a confusion over what I am doing and what order I was trying to pick up. I told them a few times my name, and that my girlfriend called in the order, and the woman in the front had to ask another woman for some help-even though the restaurant was(as always) empty and there was only one pick-up bag there. We set the coffee table and set out our entrees-«chili paneer» and«bean curd with garlic sauce.» They were completely wrong and unlike any time we had ever ordered them. We called the restaurant(which was actually the burger place next door and had to ask for them to hand the phone to the indian place). The woman who answered said that the food was correct, it was just a different chef in the kitchen. We told her no thanks since they were not even similar, and did not even contain the same ingredients, we would return the food. We went to the restaurant, explained how both dishes were completely wrong, and would like a refund. She tried to tell us they were not wrong and that it is just a different chef. She asked what was wrong with the bean curd-we told her there was no bean curd in it! It was just vegetables. The chili paneer was breaded and not even in a chili sauce! We were not even sure if it was paneer. Finally, after a few trips to the kitchen, she asked if we had eaten any of the food, which we hadn’t. After another trip to the kitchen and one last ditch effort to have the chef make bean curd for us to «add» to our old, cold dish, she finally agreed to give us a refund. It was funny, after trying to convince us that the food was correct, she then confided in us that this was the second time she had the chili paneer returned, and on days that the«regular chef» wasn’t in, she just wasn’t going to serve it anymore. We were thinking this was finally over… until she asked if we had a nickel. She said that since it was $ 17.96, so she could just give us $ 18 back. We did not have a nickel, so instead of rounding up and just giving us the 4 cents, she gave us $ 16.70-not even the total amount we paid!!! She said it was all she could give us since we didn’t have a nickel and she didn’t have any other change. She looked at us like we were crazy that WE were the ones that didn’t have a nickel even though she was in front of a cash register! I’ve come to understand why this place is always totally empty. I really want to like this place, but I won’t ever be back now. RIP chili paneer… you will be missed.

I came to red chili for the first time for lunch. It’s attached to a burger place next door(I’m excited to try that place in the near future)! The restaurant has a very welcoming ambiance. Everything is new with an asian/middle eastern themed cozy feel. The hostess said the place is Chinese but I think it’s more chindian(Chinese indian). There are some paneer dishes and other chindian staples like chili noodles. I decided to order a few items to try a bunch of dishes and take the leftovers home :-)! I had the chili noodles with chicken, the chili paneer and the chicken manchurian. All the food came out in a timely manner and the waitress/hostess was friendly and responsive. My favorite dish was definitely the chicken Manchurian(followed closely by the chili paneer). You could order either dish dry or with sauce. I ordered both with sauce and they were delicious! The only dish I was not too excited about were the chili noodles. They had a sort of metallic taste and the dish was a little cold. But I asked for some chili sauce on the side, added it to the noodles and the dish was great(chili sauce makes everything taste good)! It’s about $ 10 per dish so the prices are reasonable. I wish the menu was more extensive and had more options but I was happy with my experience. I will definitely be going again!
