Great food. Awesome customer service. I’ll definitely check back some other time. The service delivery was top notch and the environment is awesome for a peaceful meal. The pizza was great and you have the option to play games of you’d like to. They deserve the full 5 stars.

Came in to catch the Miami Heat game after the TD5 Boro Bike ride… best decision ever! Jackie kept us happy at the bar, amazing customer service… ordered in local pizza and started a jukebox battle with locals!

Great bar! The owners are always making sure the customers are taken care of, also the regulars are extremely welcoming. Every football Sunday and basically every event they put out a FREE buffet which is unheard of these days! A true NY neighborhood bar that makes everyone feel like a regular and that’s rare!

If you want to watch the Rangers, this is your spot. Cheap beer and tons of TVs don’t hurt either.

Came to Rocky’s a few weeks ago for some afternoon weekday drinks on a day off and I was impressed by the renovations(my last visit here was a few years ago). The place was clean and the draft beer was ice cold and most of all the bartender, Barbara, had an awesome personality and was on top of our drink orders. I’m dumping McCaans(yea you should be ashamed of your decline over the past 4yrs) for Rocky’s.

Great place for drinks and a night out! Clean, laid back and friendly staff and awesome drink prices! Not to mention they have a ton of tvs, darts and great music. Stumbled on this place and was pleasantly surprised. Came here a few times thereafter with friends on Friday and Saturday nights and both were fun! This may be the new spot :) They don’t serve food, though they told us that they offer a buffet during the football games and I believe you can order food in to the bar. Great place all around!

Cute place, cool vibes. Waiter was a little dry when I asked for a drink menu and told me this is a sports bar. I get this is a sports bar so that means y’all don’t have a drink menu because it’s a sports bar smh ok. She definitely cut her tip in half for that smart ass comment. The drinks were good and strong and kinda cheap that’s what the 3 stars is for.

Came here to watch the Knicks game. They let us order nonalcoholic drinks. The best part was that I got to bring my Steinway halal food and eat it and watch the game. Would come back here!

Im in the restaurant and bar business. I owned and operated 12 restaurants in Manhattan. When Im not at one of my places Im here. The crowd is great for a neighborhood bar. Not like the { usual suspects } bars in Astoria. The place is super clean. The drinks are made perfect and the staff is attentive and friendly, specially Shannon & Barbara. The night crowd are young and restless. Great place to be. Besides my places. Keep up the good work

My favorite not so local bar… Rush hour traffic is not a deterrent to enjoy the happy hour here! They have over 15 ever changing beer taps, several large screen tvs, SUPER clean bathroom and even carry EVERY flavor of Deep Eddy’s Vodka… They do not have a kitchen which is something I LOVE because darn it you are in Astoria, where you can order ANY type of food you wish and eat it there. They’ll even give plates and condiments for your take out food. They have DJ’s and live music during the weekend but my favorite time to go is during the week before 7 to see Barbara, who knows what you like to drink and NEVER lets your glass stay empty!!!

Cool local bar with awesome drink specials everyday that can’t be beat! It’s BYOF so come prepared if you like to nibble on something while you drink. Several locals hang out at the bar itself. Seems like everybody knows each other and is a friendly bunch. Plenty of screens to watch whatever game is on. Bartenders are attentive and friendly. You’ll never go dry in this place!

The Captain was great, strong and a lil tropical!!! Came early evening Saturday and it was pratically empty with all sitting at the bar with still room to spare. The music was old school. Wasnt too upbeat. So my fervor to drink a lil more was gone. My friend felt the same way. Womp womp. Maybe I’ll come a lil later next time and give it another try.

Decided to check out this neighbourhood sports bar and I’m glad I did. About 15 wide-screen HDTVs in the place, mostly by the bar. I liked how there’s a separate-ish section in the back for people who are in the minority for the game they want to watch. Place was packed with Rangers fans cheering with gusto. Staff were very accommodating — changed the channel for us upon request for one of the TVs in the back. Good beers, good vibes, and a rarity among bars in general — spacious and clean restrooms, separate ones for each gender. No food menu(that I saw; it was a Friday night) but you can bring in outside food. Free wifi too!

Lovely local place in upper Ditmars. Well constructed and friendly drunks to have actual conversations with. The bar keeps are always looking to satisfy your every drinking need. Great football bar. I know they have buffet, free, days but I have never partaken in it. I hear the food is tasty. BBQ in the summer and great place to unwind after a good park excursion. Unlike most bars they do not mind outside food as long as you pick up after yourself. The Mexican place next door has a great relationship with the bar and will cater to you.

Thanks Jando for a great, informative review. You lead me to the right place. Last night was probably one of the coldest dog days in early 2015 and being outside for more than 5 minutes will literally just freeze off any body part. I do not recommend this extreme sport. So when it is cold like this, I was not about to wait outside by the subway for a friend to meet up. So right after I got out of the subway, I looked up bars on my phone and immediately decided on this place. This place is definitely for the locals, so if you’re in the neighborhood, give this place a try. This isn’t my normal scene, as usually, I am not much of a TV watcher. But this place had at least 10 huge TVs, all dialed to some sports-related channel. I think hockey was on and every once in a while, there would be cheers throughout the bar. I was completely clueless. They have some game machines, a modern jukebox and also Pac Man in the back(that’s more my thing, I am a nerd you know). Apparently, there are happy hour specials every night(read Jando’s review). I was here on a Saturday night, so didn’t know if there were any specials! I ordered a Blue Point Winter Ale and when I asked the bartender how much it was, I was literally shocked beyond belief. $ 3 for a pint? Get out of town, seriously? You can’t even get a cup of coffee for that price in Manhattan… Thanks Rocky McBride’s for saving me from frost bite. I came, I drank, I recharged and then headed to the next destination.

There are some nights when you just need a drink. If I’m around Ditmars, this is my imbibe palace of choice due to the friendly bartenders, reasonable prices, and strong pours. The intimate ambiance, sports on TV, clean bathrooms, and good company are merely a bonus. Like many bars around the area, each day has some sort of theme and/or special attached to it. On Monday, all pints are $ 4 and Tuesday one can score a free drink with the purchase of another. On Sundays they rock out beer pitcher deals, beer towers, and even a buffet of food for game days. It won’t blow your socks off, but food in any drinking capacity will always be devoured quickly. On that note, footbal games here are a lot of fun. They play full game audio for various games and they’ve crammed 20+ HD TVs in a smaller space so that games can be seen in any capacity(even drunk). If there is a game you’re looking for, just give the bartenders a heads up. Bonus points for doing that while ordering a line of shots. The spot is mainly comprised of locals, folks of the neighborhood if you will. The no frills and low key aspect is so obvious, especially on weeknights. This is not exactly a destination bar for many non-Astoria residents, but it is certainly one of best local ones. Taper the expectations, keep it simple and you’ll likely have a splendid time.

I stopped by here after a Unilocal Elite event in the area. I love this place! The drink prices were reasonable and to top it off we got two for one Tuesdays. There is a great neighborhood vibe and the bartender and patrons alike were friendly. It was a nice low key weeknight with a bunch of pleasant people.

I came here to meet with friends as they were interested in watching the Giants game. The had good happy hour special for large mimosas and bloody Mary’s $ 5. This was on a Sunday. BUT, they do not have a kitchen to serve food. They had a free buffet(food was all cold) it was nice they offer the food to their customers but it was too bad the buffet trays did not heat all it up. Great place to watch games and nice staff! Definitely do not come on an empty stomach. Bar staff were also very friendly. Good neighborhood bar!
