The food is awesome, but I had to wait 25 minutes for my order to be taken, and not by welcoming smiles. If table service got better, this place would be a full 5 stars.

I went out of my way to visit this casual bakery and restaurant that serves up classic Chilean dishes. My family is Chilean, but this type of food is impossible to find in San Diego. I got humitas(soft corn and onion cakes wrapped in corn husks) served with Chilean salad(raw tomatoes and onions, no lettuce). The food tasted relatively authentic, it was good but nothing special. The service was ok … the lady started out unfriendly but perked up towards the end when I told her I was from California. For the plane ride back I bought a slice of torta de mil hojas(a layered cake with manjar, similar to dulce de leche) that again was decent but not great, a little too dry for me. Of course I prefer my grandmother’s version, which has more manjar, plus ground almonds. Prices were higher than they should’ve been, and vegetarian options are extremely limited(they don’t offer vegetarian empanadas, and I am hoping they used butter or oil instead of lard for the humitas). Maybe I will be back, but only if I’m in the area.

Amazing Chilean restaurant/bakery. 1) I got the Chilean style hot-dogs called completo. Also got the churrasco sandwich and the giant empanada. All of the three items were excellent. 2) For dessert I got the Alfajores with dulce de leche, it was AMAZING! Not too sweet, but smooth and wonderful. 3) The price is very reasonable as well. Got a ton of food for under 20 bucks.

It really doesn’t get better than this. My boyfriend is from chile and so, I never had Chilean food. Chilean hotdogs!!! It is absolutely mouth watering. The bread is crispy, which was completely unexpected once I took the first bite. Add the aji(hot sauce) with the guac and mayo, because its surprising how everything goes together. There’s not many people. It is a quiet neighborhood, but I guess that’s what makes everything nice. I have also tried their sandwiches, fish, empanadas, apple pie, and some other dessert with dulce de leche. I have been here three times by now, and I wish it was closer to my house cause honestly, everything is delicious. Their fish is incredibly fresh! And their sandwiches are too die for. There’s a couple choices for sandwiches, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. It’s cheap, quiet, service is quick and nice… I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t go.

Ordered the churrasco sandwich with avocado, tomato and mayo. Praise the people! YUM. Their baked bread is beyond fresh and delectable. If I could, I would come here all the time to pick up food. Must eat because there arent many other authentic Chilean places in Queens.

As one of or maybe the only Chilean food place in Queens this place makes great food. The Barros Luco sandwich is to die for and there empanadas are amazing. They have a nice selection of Chilean specialty dishes which are great. Highly recommend.

Delicious churrasco sandwich. Perfect, fresh bread, avocado, awesome homemade hot sauce on the side and flavorful beef. Price was good, too. The only downside was one person was doing all the front of house stuff. She seemed a little stressed out, and it took a couple of minutes for her to take my money.

Un chileno que aprecie la buena comida de su tierra no puede perderse este hermoso lugar; sus churrascos, completos y por supuesto su delicioso pan nacional. Un lugar de sabores inolvidables!

After living in Chile, San Antonio Bakery 2 was a delicious walk down memory lane. Though the completo(the best hot dog you’ll ever try) was skimpy on the palta(mashed avocado), everything was perfectly, authentically Chilean. The empanada de pino(meat empanada) with aji pebre(hot sauce) was delicious. The churrasco(beef sandwich with avocado mash and tomato) was very tasty. And the tomato salad transported me back to my days in Santiago. The desserts were better than I remembered them being in Chile. Torta de lucuma(cake flavored by lucuma, a butterscotch-tasting Chilean fruit) was delicious and the alfajor(layered crisp pastry with manjar, Chilean caramel) was just as I remembered them. The service was great and everyone was really friendly. With a local Chilean futbol game on the TV(Colo Colo v. La U), I felt transported back. I will be back to visit!

Looks like any old bakery when you walk past it… little does everyone know that a very special hotdog awaits inside. It comes on a roll made in-house at the bakery and is topped with avocado, tomatoes and mayonnaise; it is absolutely delicious.

I’ve been to the full restaurant on Long Island as well. The empanadas are as good as any you’ll find in Santiago. The completo was really good as well. This is kind of a restauant/café setting. Been here many times. Enjoy it very much. Will be back many times in the future.

Mmmm… great little neighborhood place. Chilean joints are few and far in between in NYC, but this one is definitely worth the extra walk in from the Astoria Blvd subway stop. The Chupa de Marisco was meh, but the Cazuela(beef, potatoes, pumpkin, corn, rice) was delicious and a meal in and of itself. Very fresh, rather light, very tasty. The completo(hot dog with mayo and avocado on their hard dough bun) was a revelation made even better by the salsa on top. The dessert(alfajors and cakes) are not to be missed… especially the tres leches cake with pineapple and mandarin oranges on top. Also… look into the sopa de mariscos. Fresh delicious broth with shellfish and fish served in an iron bowl — wonderful for a cold evening.

The completo hot dog is a must when you come here u get a juicy flavorful dog with a big heaping of fresh guacamole with chopped tomatoes and a mayo based sauce on top and it comes on a freshly baked roll that they bake in house they give you a side of their homemade salsa also which deffinetly ties all the flavors together

Tasty food, meh service, but overall, a great place to have in Astoria. I love the Chilean-style alfajores(with a flat, more cracker-like cookie sandwiching the dulce de leche). I’ve also ordered a Churrasco Pollo sandwich, which was nice and fresh, but took at least 20 minutes for them to make when I was the only one in the restaurant. I’ve also stopped by a number of times in the evenings around 7pm, only for them to tell me that they are closed. I thought they were open until 7:30?

I think this Joint may have Moved down the block… Food was fantastic, particularly when u put their magic sauce on, hotdog, piña empanadas all were great and very well made. «Black Forest» cake was Delish with whipped cream frosting, strawberries and dulce de leche. No short cuts here.

Really gone down in service and quality here. The torn awning being left untouched for months says it all. It’s sad to say, but the burger king down the street has better quality than this place now. I used to love San Antonio Bakery. Now it’s just crap. The Completo taste like generic hot dogs, and the sandwiches leave you with a weird aftertaste as if you’ve just bitten into cardboard. The counter chick forgets orders as if she had never taken multiple orders before. Coffee is being served in paper cups now with a plastic knife as a stirrer. This is just f*cking depressing. The only time I’m ever here is when I want Chilean style empanadas and some baked goods. But man, it may be too little too late to save this place, damn.

I had walked by here many times and always wondered how it was. The other day I decided to give it a try. I had read about the completo, so that was a must and I was not disappointed. The fresh avocado on top really makes this. Also, I would recommend adding some of the fresh hot sauce. In addition to the completo I had an empanada, which was also delicious. I would add the hot sauce to that as well. I would actually probably add the hot sauce to everything, but that’s me. I finished it off with a bun filled some sort of custard. This was good, but I wish it had a bit more custard in it. Overall this was a good lunch trip. I will be going back to try some of their sandwiches. You should too.

Their baked bread is amazing. They have a lovely sectional of baked sweets such as cakes, pies, tarts, and Chilean specialty goods that I can not recognize :) Of course they also have their savory section including their famous«Completo» Hot Dog that you have to try– best hot dog in Astoria. Built with their freshly baked bread, juicy sausage, and topped with rainbow of flavors. The owner is very friendly and hope to try more of their goods on next visit.

After a session of «mental elevation» with my Chilean amigo Diego in Park Slope, we somehow found the energy and zeal to drive through ridiculous traffic on the BQE from Brooklyn to Astoria for some some goodies from his motherland. After what seemed liked forever, made somewhat OK by listening to the entire«Black Sands» album by Bonobo during the ride, we finally got to San Antonio Bakery. The service here is not going to be fast, so come expecting to wait a bit. The waitress finally got around to getting our orders, and despite the long wait for service, the food actually came out really quickly. Holy cow, the wait was totally worth it when you’re «elevated» and starving, a completo is as good as it can possibly get. Seriously… a hot dog on a nicely toasted bun with chopped tomatoes, onions, avocado, mayo, and lord knows whats else. I wanted to buy enough completos to build a moon bounce out of them. The empandas are dope here as well, they’re HUGE and so damn good that you’ll want to use them as pillows so that when you sleep you dream of them, and then you wake up… you’ve got something a mouthful of delicious first thing in the AM. The sandwiches here are also fantastic, and the pastries are decadent. Do yourself a favor and hit this place up if you want a cheap and delicious meal. You may want to call in your order though, otherwise you’ll be waiting a while.

As a chilean I can definitely say this place hits the spot. The empanadas are huge and delicious, they go perfectly with the pevre that is always served with your order. I also recommend el lomito sandwhich and the churassaco.
