Ordered my drink before I even left the house. They didn’t have it ready when I got there ten min later. No apology. I do that when I am in a rush do I missed my train. Not happy. The place was empty and the workers were just messing around. I’d understand if it was slammed but this was not the case **oh and the drink tastes awful! How hard is a chia latte? Tastes like he used heavy cream

Seating/noise leve arent great for getting work done on your laptop, which is disappointing considering the central location of this location. Otherwise, friendly staff and good coffee.

Awesome pastries, delicious drinks, nice seating, and a convenient location, less than a block away from the N/Q train.

«We don’t have half and half today» — rude employee who did not care or apologize. First Starbucks I have ever been to that said they do not have half and half and that I can just use the other options that are«right there on the counter.» I ended up taking my black coffee, it got cold, and I went to another Astoria Starbucks to add half and half so that I might actually enjoy my coffee and have it the way I wanted after I paid for it. Bad location!!!

I’m giving this review purely based on the service of this location. Even though I agree that u can get better tasting coffee for a better price at surrounding smaller coffee places, I’m not going to single out a specific Starbucks and give it a poor rating for that. The reason for the poor rating is for the awful service at this Starbucks. After waiting on line to place my order, I waited an additional 15 minutes for my coffee. People behind me with more complicated coffee orders than mine got their drinks before me, but I still tried to remain patient and told myself mine was probably next. Finally, some guy who I guess was a manager of some kind said«who is still waiting for a drink» after seeing me wait there while people came and went. I told him what I was waiting for and he proceeded to do drinks of people who had just placed their orders with the cashiers. No «sorry for the wait,» not even eye contact or a smile from him. After all of this, received the wrong coffee. Not cool for a coffee over $ 5. Will not be returning to this location.

The time is a lie. They close BEFORE11pm at 10:40 and lock the doors and don’t let you in.

After 5 times there same scenario: whether they have a long line or no line, this staff is super slow to take your order and fulfill it. Aside from the barista I saw on Friday there, noone is inviting or friendly. In fact yesterday when I tried again against all odds, it let me down again! There was but one other customer in there… whom I waited for patiently to finish her service… obviously not a good sign when the person in front of you is being helped at a snails pace. Then once she was done there were 5 employees behind the counter and yet not one of them turned their backs around to get my order! The girl at the register just turned her back once it was FinAlly my turn. Wtf!!? Luckily, above mentioned barista actually came to my aid and he was as kind as he could be being I was very upset at that point. There will not be a 6th visit! High prices for terrible service!

Don’t even try to compete in this neighborhood of fine coffees and coffee shops owned by real people and family’s that live in our community. Ok Café, 60 Beans, Brooklyn Bagel, Fresh Start Organics, and a bushel of family owned bakeries are just a few places I would highly recommend getting your coffee at first. For me, it’s nice living in this community because you can tell by the lines outside of the coffee shops who’s good and who’s not. Us Astorians’ are a bunch of local buyers! This big corp just isn’t welcome.

Came in and was able to obtain my free drink that i requested with less ice. Because well i do not like my drinks ice cold I ordered the peach green tea lemonade. The free offer was good on any size so why not opt for the biggest they have a venti! It was not super busy. Which was nice. The drink came out pretty good. Athough i am not sure if this location has wifi

Update your hours, drove out of my way for 15 mins bc this location said it is open until midnight. Just arrived and they had the doors locked. It’s 11:25pm. Very inconvenient and annoyed

With so many great choices for coffee in Astoria, why go to a generic chain. The lines are long, there’s never anywhere to sit, and it’s suuuuper slow. The ambiance is now that of McDonald’s. If it’s convenient, fine, but if you have the time, head down to one of the others in the area and support local.

Too small and too crowded! The problem with Starbucks(and by Starbucks I mean the company as a whole, not just this store), is they’re not moving with the times. Local coffee shops and smaller chains are taking their business away because, frankly, they make better coffee. Starbucks is overrated and is more a status symbol than anything else. BUT, on to the review of the one on 31st Street… As I said above, it’s small. And crowded. The lines move quickly, even during rush hour, so you can grab a coffee to go and make it to your train on time. But if you’re like me and want to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere, or bring your laptop and enjoy the free wifi, this place is not for you because ALL the seats are almost ALWAYS taken. I’ll still go here occasionally for specialty drinks and anytime I want something quick on the way to the N/Q station. But Caffe Bene suits my needs far more.

Update 04/17/2015: after years using this Starbucks, I have finally given up on the whole chain. Nobody in this place knows how to make coffee or their mixes. NOBODY! And this has become a trend in a lot of their NYC stores. Go elsewhere. Convenient. But that’s it. It’s always PACKED. And there are always different baristas here. SO, learn the barista that makes good coffee and stick with him or her. I’ve been buying coffee here once or twice a week for 5 years now. And the chances you’ll get good coffee are SLIM to NONE. Some of the workers are excellent at what they do. So, if I walk in and they’re not there. I’m not buying anything. The various times I really needed a quick fix and I bought it from someone I didn’t know, I walked out with garbage. Paying $ 6.04 for a cup of garbage is truly not a pleasant feeling. And they’re not the happy types to remake your coffee for you. They’re too busy.

Its Starbucks and they have some decent space to do work. Sometimes the line is long but it moves quickly and the staff is friendly. It’s also conveniently right by the Astoria ditmars stop.

Terrible store — rude employees– slow service — avoid this store at all costs. There are lots of independent coffee houses in the area or go down 31st St. to the other(much better) Starbucks closer to Astoria…

I can almost always find a seat in here and despite it being busy, the staff are always nice. The seating, though quite limited in comparison to other stores, is cozy and it’s a nice spot to linger, sip, read, people watch right on Ditmars, near all the shopping and dining provided you can find a seat. Whenever I hop off the N train I always stop by for a beverage.

Very small shop but great and speedy barista/counter service! Came in on a Saturday around 1pm and it was a bit difficult to get in because of a cluster of people waiting for their drinks + pretty long line that extended to the end by the restrooms. Didn’t expect it to be so busy at that time of day! However, the line moved very quickly and before I knew it I had my iced coffee in hand!

I live right next to this Starbucks so on my way to work it is hard to resist not getting coffee. this Starbucks is comparably smaller than most in the city and if you are looking to bring your laptop and get some work done this is not the place. It is always crowded regardless of the time of day and loud. The layout of where to pick up your beverage is the most annoying party. It gets really crowded and during the morning hours impedes on the patrons trying to get to the opposite end of the store to stand on the line. Also, on a few occasions they seem to run out of food(Veggie Artisans). Staff is super friendly and I look forward to seeing the ones I recognize. Just stop by to get a coffee and be on the go
