EATHEREATYOUROWNRISK!!! I’ve ordered lunch from this place at least ten times while at work. Well today I found a little surprise in my chicken and broccoli. A ROACH! This is the kind of stuff that makes you want to stop eating out. Halal definitely doesn’t equate to cleaner. Be careful people.

I love this place. I especially love the hour and sour soup. The house special fried rice is also great but you can skip the«special» part and just order chicken rice and it’s the same. Great fast and delicious food.

Does anyone in Astoria know what good Chinese food tastes like? Maybe the reason people are giving such high stars is bc its prob one of the few halal Chinese rest in Astoria, who knows?. This place is aweful. Food was tastless. General tso chicken was soggy, tasteless, and almost had no sauce to accompany it. Chow fun was WAYYY too oily and lacked soo much flavor. I can’t believe there are any good reviews for this place — to make matters worse, and possibly the biggest downfall, they don’t offer ANY free sodas, egg rolls, fortune cookies, etc — no matter how much you spend. They didn’t even give me a menu and I paid over $ 40.00 worth of food, which is alot for Chinese food. Bottom line is BEWARE, don’t go here or even attempt to give it a shot! — worst place in Astoria. Order from xing chef in ditmars — best place I’ve ordered from.

The best Chinese I’ve found in the area so far. I think it’s the 5th I’ve tried, and it’s great. The rice is a little weak in flavor, but it’s much more lightly fried than others. The sesame chicken was awesome though. Everything is Halal too, which is cool.

Well Finding a Halal Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood is always a plus. So I was really excited and ordered delivery for couple of spring rolls, wonton and Chow Fun. This is the first Chinese restaurant which saw my request for making the chow fun spicy. It was really delicious except for the wonton which I didnt like. Delivery was really fast and Delivery guy was very polite. Obviously gonna order from them again.

My husband and I recently discovered this HALAL Chinese restaurant and now we get delivery from nowhere else! Their customer service is amazing. They are so friendly over the phone. And the food, just as others have mentioned, is fresh and much better than most Chinese restaurants. My favorite is the chow ho fun(flat rice noodle) which I always ask to make very spicy and they are yet to disappoint. We’ve tried other things on the menu and we are always satisfied. Plus the delivery is very fast.

The hot and sour soup here is pretty delicious on a cold winter day! It will take the chill right out of you. This place is not fancy but they are fast and pleasant and consistent. The general chicken is always a favorite and you can pick up or do delivery in no time. The broccoli beef is good too and the portions are very generous. It’s your typical New York City Chinese takeout go to joint.

Best Chinese takeout! The food always tastes fresh and not too greasy. This place serves halal food so you won’t find any pork dishes.

We order delivery from here all the time because the food is delicious and the ingredients are very fresh! The portions are generous and the prices are very good. We have tried other Chinese food take out to give those a try, but we keep coming back! Everything we have tried has been great including the general tso’s tofu! They get an A in my book! …and they are on seamless!

We lived in the area for a while and loved to eat here. The spicy dishes had a tad bit of a kick, which is awesome if you don’t like your American Chinese to be overly sweet. The portion sizes were very good. And the quality is much better than typical fast food takeouts. Another reviewer said it is less greasy than average, which is just right. And the service is always polite. I was in the area after 3 years, and decided to stop by. It is still worth it :) BTW, «Halal» is not a «style» of food or a cuisine; like Kosher, it identifies the food being sourced from approved Islamic sources, no pork, no alcohol, etc. And to the best of my knowledge, this restaurant serves no pork, so I am not sure how«Stephanie P.» got pork dumplings :)

Yanno, as I ordered my food(in person, not for delivery) and checked in here last week I totally thought I would end up ripping this place apart on Unilocal!Well I learned a lesson — don’t judge a food establishment by its cover! Lol, sure we all know this, but sometimes we need a little reminder. Enter Super China Pagoda! Came here on my way to my boyfriend’s best friend’s house last Tuesday to watch them do their weekly podcast. After not having eaten anything since like noon and commuting to Astoria from Columbus Circle, I was starving… naturally. Being not too sure about what I was craving I hopped in here because it smelled AMAZING, but because they sell both Chinese AND halal food! Interesting mix, but I can dig it. Having received a text from my boy as I was looking at their menu I learned that he had bought me a chicken sandwich assuming I’d be hungry… after all my insides exploded because I thought that was so freaking sweet, I decided to be a fatass and order some steamed pork dumplings anyway… because when the dumpling craving kicks in, I answer it. Decidedly upon looking at them in the comfort of said friend’s house, I decided they looked like your regular, «run of the mill» fast food Chinese dumplings that end up feeling like you’re chewing on human ear(I can’t be alone here, lol)…surprisingly enough they tasted better than I was expecting! They were generously filled with really delicious pork and chive filling, yes it was unfortunately wrapped in that disappointingly thick dumpling skin, but with the pork and the pork juices flowing out them with each bite, I was pleasantly… pleased. I’ll definitely return to try their chicken/basil dumplings and their halal food too!

Figured I had to give them a try since they are the first HALAL Chinese food place I heard of. Maybe its just me or I need to order another dish to be sure. But they should not mix the two — either order Chinese or order Halal. they cant mix the two styles together. Delivery time was normal for chinese take out and there was no minimum for delivery. May or may not try again

This place is about as good as it gets when it comes to Chinese style fast food. They have a clean kitchen in view of the public, they accept credit cards, and the food isn’t as greasy as you’d expect for this type of place. They’re halal so no pork on the menu, the service is pretty good, and I recommend the Singapore Mai fun.

I normally don’t order chinese, but I was hungry and bored at home alone, so I ordered at this place cause they serve Halah meat. The wait time for the delivery was normal. I ordered a small chicken-lo mein and chicken sweet and sour. I like the containers they use, it was well packed. For a small order of each item, It definitely was more for 3 people. The lo-mein wasn’t bad, and the chicken tasted fresh, I just felt it was missing a touch of seasoning. However, I would order again and try their other dishes to actually judge overall.

Since I moved to NYC recently, I’ve been going around and trying out the various Chinese restaurants around my apartment. Asking around at my laundromat, the woman recommended China Pagoda, saying it wasn’t as greasy as other places. I don’t know what exactly makes it halal or so different from other Chinese take-out places, but the food was good and the portion size was decent. Price-wise, it seems to be around the same as everywhere else and not nearly as greasy as some of the other places on the same street.

This restaurant is probably one of the few Chinese Halal places I’ve seen in the neighborhood and I believe it is part of a local chain of Chinese Halal places all named China Pagoda. You can get all your typical Chinese take out dishes here and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hot and sour soup here. Unlike most other typical take out places it wasn’t watered down and actually had a decent spicy(hot) kick to it. Their portions are noticeable larger than a lot of the neighboring Chinese restaurants which is always nice given it is in the same price range. As well they also take credit card which is sometimes hard to come by at a Chinese restaurant.
