This place sums up my ideal bed and breakfast. Upon arriving I was already taken a back at the serenity that this place offered. It sits on acres of land that includes a stable and pond. There is also a trail that can be followed around the property. Walking up to the front door, I could only imagine the beauty of the inside because the exterior was immaculate. We were greeted at the door by the Colonel, himself, and he excitedly welcomed us in. We then took a tour of the rooms and he showed us to our room for the weekend and encouraged us to look around. We quickly threw our things in the room so we could begin to sight-see. The back porch had rocking chairs and a friendly house dog. The closest part of the back yard featured a stable and a few horses left to roam the fenced in pasture. We ventured on to the trail and it led us to a private pond. We stood there in awe for a few moments and really soaked in the experience with nature. We then had to get back to our room because we had to prepare for a wedding, the reason we booked the stay. After an eventful evening at the wedding we returned to our room excited to get a chance to really enjoy the room. The bed was very comfortable and we even noticed there were robes hung for both of us in the wardrobe. Our breakfast was scheduled for 8 am so after waking up we got ready to go down stairs for breakfast. The Colonel also cooks and serves the breakfast. He prepared Pain Perdu(french toast) for us along with fresh orange juice, coffee and fruit. If i remember correctly, we ventured back out on the property for a little while before checking out. This experience is highly recommended as we really enjoyed every aspect of our stay. If you’re ever in the area please make time to stay at this manor.
