I stopped into the Aveda store last Friday after work, around 7:30ish. I was inquiring about their makeup brushes. I got one 10 years ago and love it. I described it to the staff member who proceeded to be extremely rude. I described how it was a bamboo color, thin, and it was a liner pencil. She very sarcastically replied, «Well that’s weird, I’ve had my brushes for 11 years and I’ve never seen one like what you describe.» It was entirely unnecessary for her to be so sarcastic. A simple, «hey I don’t think we have those, but have you tried these?» would have worked much better. Aveda lost out because I went next door to Bloomingdales and got what I needed from Bobbi Brown.

I usually avoid Aveda at the Lenox Mall because I went once and found employees to be quite stuck up. I walked in last week, though, and was surprised by how warm the manager, Kanin, was. Excited, I returned a few days later ready to make my purchase. Kanin wasn’t there and the and the ladies working there were cold and as stuck up as when at my first visit. Disappointing to say the least.
