Slow or no service after paying. I called in an order for pasta at about 1230 back in May, the person that took my order said it will be 30 min, no problem I said. I got there at 1:05 in the afternoon, I paid for the order at the counter and then began the waiting game. at 1:30 my order still had not arrived and the bar tender ignored me(I’m use to that, I don’t look like I have two masters and have a 25 year career at a large global company) at 1:45 I just gave up and walked out, they can keep the money. Now whenever leaders in the company come to town we all avoid that place. O and today just because I though I would try them again I called, and the young lady taking the call told me to stop mumbling. I said that’s okay, good bye, and hung up the phone. The food is good but the service is horrible. I speak German, but could have sworn I was speaking English.

I took my daughter her on a date, to try their brick oven-wood fired pizza. I’ll say this — I really wanted to try different things on the menu, and although this pizza was pretty good, it won’t be Antico. I’m thinking it’s the 00 flour, or the italian water. I’m not certain. It just doesn’t taste as good, and although it’s still good, it’s not«AS» good. TL:DR — Obv. get the pizza, any. — This could be a pretty nice date night, atmosphere is pretty cool. — Parking is down the street a bit, so it could seem a little sketch but don’t be scared.

What a wonderful experience! I came to Baraonda for a casual birthday lunch with some coworkers and left beyond satisfied. A charming little Italian restaurant in midtown by the Fox Theater, Baraonda Ristorante and Bar was the perfect spot to be at for lunch. Initially, we had thought that the restaurant might be a little bit packed on a Friday for lunch. So, we called and made a reservation. Thankfully, there were only about four other tables enjoying their meals when we arrived, so we were lucky enough to get a big table by the window. This was perfect for our group of girls wanting to enjoy a glass or two of wine during lunch. In order to cut down on wait-time, we called in ahead of time to place our orders. A smart and necessary move for anyone who is on the clock and needs to get back to that office. One thing I absolutely enjoyed at Baraonda was their portions! I am a big eater so I love restaurants that like to feed. Both the food and wine our waiter brought out to us was plentiful. Generous glasses of wine and generous plates of pasta – AMAZING. What’s even more mind blowing is the cost. $ 4 for a glass of wine? A big glass at that, too! $ 11 for a big plate of pasta? Heck yes! I ordered two glasses of their house white wine and a plate of Penne Salssicia. Oh man, the pasta was so creamy and meaty. A spoonful of Parmesan cheese and another of hot peppers made the dish even more splendid. I had heard Baraonda makes spectacular pizza. So, next time, I will definitely give that a try. Overall, wonderful experience. I would recommend it!

Okay so the Resturant is beautiful but unfortunately that was all that was. The food was very bland. I sat at the bar and the bartender recommend the vegetarian lasagna. It came out still bubbling and a bowl of oil. I exchanged it for the Ziti which was equally as bland. I tried to dress it up by putting some cheese on it but when I tried to close the container it slide off the bar. After the happen the bartender just ignored me the remainder of the time I was there. To my defense the bartender also had a accident with the slipper bar causing a fork to flip up in a customer face but luckily there where no injuries or damage. Needless to say no need for me to go back. I paid bill and left never to return.

We frequently visit this restaurant before attending shows at the Fox Theatre. It’s located in the next block, so very convenient to parking as well as the theatre. They have great pizzas, which are made in their wood-fired oven. Also, very good pastas and salads. If you want a reservation, you’ll need to make it about three weeks prior to the date; otherwise, go early and get on the list – they hold a fair number of tables for walk-ins.

We’ve eaten at Baroanda twice. The first time was disappointing. Our experience last night was far worse. First, their reservation policy is draconian. There was an accident holding up traffic so I called the restaurant to add 5 minutes to their usual window. Apparently that’s like asking for a kidney. Our server was slow to greet us. We got our salads and focaccia quickly. They were okay, but nothing special. We then waited 30 minutes for our entrees with our waiter breezing by the table and saying they were just about ready. We finally flagged him down after seeing that all of the tables around us had their food. We were told it would be another 15 minutes. 45 minutes for entrees! Ridiculous. My husband got the chicken cacciatore. The chicken was dry and the«sauce» was some kind of lintel goo. My son and I got the special ravioli with shrimp. When I’m at a restaurant of the supposed caliber of Baroanda, I do not expect frozen shrimp. It smelled fishy and tasted like pure Morton’s salt from the canister. The ravioli were salty, too, and the pasta was undercooked. The tomatoes were inedible. We asked for the check when we got our food. No concession was offered to make up for our wait. Our server never once checked to see if the food was okay. We love the convenience to the Fox but we will NOT be eating there again. Bad food, piss-poor service, $ 123. Not again.

I’m surprised Baraonda doesn’t get a higher rating. I’ve been coming to this place for pizza for over ten years now. And the pizzas(and pasta) are amazingly consistently delicious. Real real oven baked pizza. Absolutely delicious. The rice is right, the tiramisu is tasty and solid, this is a super sound value and I will continue to come for their thin crust pizzas with no nonsense fancy presentation. Taste and ingredients are top. The bread served on the table is a hit or miss, but I don’t care because I go there for pizza, not bread sticks! Oh and the fact that they validate parking across the street is huge. A big plus in a neighborhood where parking is a pain. :-)

Great little restaurant. A group of 4 of us come here for appetizers and drinks before we went out. It was quaint, the drinks were strong, and the service was on par. We ordered the Fresh Burrata and it was some of the best I have ever had. I highly recommend them. Also, the bartender really knows how to put together an old fashioned, trust me, get one. It is very convenient to the Fox Theatre, Hotel Indigo, and many other happening places in Midtown.

We only went for dessert and drinks after going to the fox theatre, but it was fantastic. Service was great and since we went after the show t was way better than sitting in traffic. I had a chocolate almond cake with vanilla gelato and a martini. It was delicious. Other people with me had the strawberry lemonchello prosecco drink, tiramisu, lemonchello sorbet, and nutty Englishman coffee. Everything was great! Next time I will eat dinner there and then go to the show after.

Four stars or Three stars? The decision was completely dependent upon the reaction the staff would take to the incident. As you can see, I had to go with Three stars. :-( There was a small fly swimming in my friends glass of wine. I do NOT blame the establishment for nature. How one reacts to the unexpected though, does matter though. Patron: Excuse me, but there is a fly in my wine.(The fly was in the wine when it arrived at the table.) Waitstaff: Hmmm, yes there is. I’ll take that. (Takes glass away, and returns four minutes later with a glass of wine.) Waitstaff: Here. My friend was charged for one glass of wine. I find this unacceptable. Why? When a restaurant serves something with a health violation(an insect in your product), you apologize. The item should be replaced and taken off the bill or discounted. Success in the restaurant business is based on the quality of your product and the experience your customers receive. Swapping out the glass(I hope it was a new glass) with«Here», is not acceptable. Except for this one blemish on the evening, the meal was lovely. The salmon was tasty. A bit over done, but still tasty. All of my companions enjoyed their meals. The steak could have been bumped up a notch, from what I’m told. The pizza was really good. The ambiance was cozy and a bit up scale. Would I go back? Yes. I’d give them another go. However, if I saw another fly…

My Wife and I went there prior to The Moody Blues Concert at the Fox, our Server was fantastic, the Special /I had Tuna and my Wife had the Raviolis, crazy good. We never felt rushed and even though we had mentioned that we were gonna take our time and were headed to the concert, our Server was great about taking care of us. Most definitely coming back again…

Apps: bruschetta, calamari Pizza: Rustica Entrees: Gigli and Pappardelle I’ve dined here 3x — 1st time was buffet style with appetizers and pizzas for an engagement party. It was delicious; 2nd time was a wine & food pairing for an Open Hand event. It was delicious; 3rd time was the first dining experience where I could select my dishes. *Bruschetta and calamari were both good but nothing memorable. *Rustica pizza was really satisfying. Simple but the mushroom and fontina flavors were light for a pre-entrée shared dish. The crust was thin(wood fired?) and perfectly baked. *Gigli pasta was what I ordered. I really enjoyed the type of pasta, very playful. Went really well with the boar sausage! My first pick was going to be the spinach & egg pasta but they didn’t serve that posts that night. * My husband ordered the pappardelle with lamb ragu. He likes gamey meats but this dish was the gamey-ist he’s ever tasted. I tried a noodle and that was infused with gamey-ness. He could not eat the plate and we didn’t take the leftovers home. Do not recommend this dish.

I went here with a group of 12, we had reservations and were seated pretty immediately. Our server, I can’t remember her name(too many beers ;-)) was attentive and got our appetizers out quickly. I had the seafood linguine and the portion was HUGE! it was one of those portions where you keep eating it and it never seems to get any smaller… it was also delicious. I tried apiece of the pizza that my co-worker ordered, also a huge portion, and it was super yummy as well. We had some technical difficulties with the checks, we were all on expense so that had to be separated and then the alcohol was all together, but on a separate check as well-so considering the complicated requested they did okay. I would definitely go back when I am in ATL again.

I have no complaints. We were headed to Alvin Ailey performance at the Fox the theater. As soon as we were seated i told the waitress Markie that we had a show to get to in 45 min to see… and we were ready to order… she ran back put our food order in and came back to she was headed to the bar to pick up. our beverages. Before she returned not only did our 1st course arrive but also the main course!!! Impressive!!! The Pastore pizza was amazing and so was the brushetta! ! I added a little basamic vinegar to the brushetta to give it a little. kick! Yummy! My glass of Riesling was also refreshing. My husband had a mixed drink that was also very good! Markie came back to check on us and brought us our check and we were off to the show at the FOX with 10 mins. To spare! We will be back and we will ask for Markie’s section. THANKS Markie!

If it were possible to give this place ZERO stars, I would. Ate here the other night with my fiancée and had wait half an hour to even see a waiter. Our waiter, by the way, was the extremely overwhelmed bartender who didn’t have any time to wait tables. We got our food relatively quickly and it was decent, but the service was so poor that it cancelled out anything good I had to say about the food other than it didn’t kill me. After we got our food, we didn’t see another waiter again until literally an hour later. Very frustrating. The couple next to us chatted with us about how bad the service was. The drinks were overpriced for what they were… their tonic water is FLAT, probably because they had their poor bartender making drinks for a full bar AND waiting tables. The ambiance was just… dim. This place is a hard pass… go to Gordon Biersch instead.

I made the mistake of showing up before the show at the Fox on Saturday. «20 minute» wait ended up being 50. I sat at the bar… 15 minutes to get a dry Martini from a very rude unhelpfull bartender. I have been here many times before but since today I will really do my best to find another place where popularity has not made them forget about the reason their customers visit them: having a good time

So, we ordered lasagna. Came late. And burned. I had to dissect the middle part, while removing the burned edges. Well, at least it made me eat slowly. When mentioned it to the waitress, she looked like she couldn’t be bothered. Then, she showed up with Tiramisu on the house. Nice gesture, but shouldn’t she first ask us what dessert we want?! All very weird. No. Didn’t take the burned lasagna off our bill. Had to mention it to the manager. He did. Bottom line, quite disappointing…

Went out for dinner with friends visiting from Tanzania. They were vegetarian and that was the only choice in that area. Had seen mixed reviews so was not sure what to expect. We had a reservation for 7:45PM. We reached at 7:20 and were promptly seated. Our server was efficient(did not get his name, not sure he even mentioned) but was short on smile. Efficient nevertheless. We ordered for Bruschetta for appetizers. The Bruschetta was fresh, too fresh to my taste. It was essentially fresh chopped tomatoes flavored with fresh herbs. The Vegetarians ordered for«Paglia e Fieno» and«Penne Special». I ordered for the Scottish Salmon and my wife order the Chicken. The food came together and fresh and hot. Everyone enjoyed their order. The fish was firm but well cooked and tender. The lemon flavor was delicate. The vegetables were cooked perfectly well. The Chicken came with Mashed Potato and the portion was manageable. We ordered a portion of home made Tiramisu and another dessert. While I did not try either, I was told that it was great. The reason for 4 stars is that, I did not feel the warmth and a personal service. It was professional but not personal.

I wasn’t impressed. Looks cute inside and service was fine but food was nothing special. They start you out with a bread basket and olive oil. Bread wasn’t worth the calories and carbs. I ordered the Caprese pizza which wasn’t bad. But is wasn’t what I was expecting. It’s basically a pizza with light tomato sauce then a hefty portion of arugula on top sprinkled with cold bufalo cheese and chopped up cold prosciutto. I was expecting a hot pizza with melted cheese. If you look my pictures you can see it’s like pizza with a salad on it. My husband ordered a salad with chicken. he said it was ok. We also ordered the calamari, decent I guess but nothing made it stand out from other calamari from other restaurants. There’s a lot of other stuff. I might go back to try the pasta or a Hot Pizza. Total bill without tip was about $ 45 for the above items plus one club soda.
