Ive been here twice and was not impressed with either meal. The first time I went, I ate at the restaurant and thought the ambiance was really nice. I ordered the spicy peach roll and another roll which I can’t remember the name of. I didn’t think it was that great.
I went again recently as my friend lives in the area and I was craving some thai food. This time I tried the thai food. I was having dinner with 2 friends so we each ordered a dish and shared. The got the ruby town with chicken, gingerine with chicken, and the pad see ew with beef. The ruby town was pretty good but spicy. The gingerine was ok; it didn’t have much flavor to it. And lastly, the pad see ew was not good. The noodles were somewhat tough and the beef was also flavorless.
After my two meals here, I probably will not return unless I absolutley have no other choice. If you’re in the area, I would choose different restaurant as there are so many other options!

I dined here for dinner on the patio on a Thursday evening. The space both inside and outside is nice, although the inside dining area seemed somewhat crowded with the number of tables they have.
We were seated fairly quickly and the servers were all nice but nothing really stood out as exceptional above and beyond service.
We started with the crispy rolls which are your standard long thin egg roll like appetizers. They were tasty but pretty standard. I had the summer breeze roll and the salmon roll and my husband had the emerald town beef (Thai). The summer breeze roll comes with spicy yellowtail but it didn’t taste spicy to me at all — almost to the point where I thought they may have brought me the wrong roll. My husbands beef was good and a little on the sweet side.
All in all I would say Bua is ok but not amazing and a little overpriced compared to some Thai and sushi places not too far away. Our bill was $ 40 for the items mentioned above (no drinks).

I enjoyed my service. Food was mediocre. Stay away from the spider roll! Bad stench from the crab meat and paste-​y texture. It was gross. The Thai tea was powdery as well. Probably better luck with the Thai food than the sushi.

Definitely my favorite Thai place in Atlanta. Ample parking, great atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and reasonable prices. They have a pretty good sushi bar to boot. Great place for lunch as most menu items are below $ 10.

The ambiance of this place is really cute and relaxing. I love most of the dishes here but was very upset about the coconut soup (I’ve had my fair share of coconut soups and this was far from taste or maybe i just expected too much) The service was terrible. A lady brought us water and then disappeared to only go across the restaurant to eat… the restaurant wasn’t even busy and no one even said «we’ll be right there, etc» then after finally getting the owners attention, he takes our order. It was very unprofessional and if it wasn’t for the owner taking care of us and taking over our table, I would’ve given this place only 2 stars.

Manager/​owner has an Aweful attitude.
I requested the lowest price wine from Sanoma. $ 7.
When they brought me the check they charged me $ 12 and I queried it.
They stated I ordered the brand Sanoma. Which was $ 12.
I said I would rather give the $ 5 for a extra tip.
I called the manager who said there is nothing he can do. So I said can I talk to the owner he replied I’m the owners son and that there is nothing that can be done.

Bua is a nice addition to Town Brookhaven, providing an alternative to the usual all-​American fare at neighboring establishments. If you’re in the area & want to treat your tastebuds to something different, this is a great choice.
The visual appeal of this place is unexpected — from the outside, it’s a bit of a sleeper — a non-​descript restaurant with green canvas awnings. But once you step inside, it’s very striking & upscale. They paid alot of attention to detail designing this place & it shows… even in the stemware & cutlery.
They draw a young crowd, mostly Brookhaven locals. Seating can be slightly awkward at the tables lining the wall — they’re very close to one another & you feel like you’re intruding on the conversation next you or vice versa. I usually try to sit at the bar or one of the high tops to have a little more comfort & privacy.
The food is always delicious & the presentation is immaculate — however, the service can be sloooow (even when they aren’t busy). I always have the Tom Kha soup — love the tang of the lime & the taste of coconut. I’ve had a few varieties of nigiri sushi — good but nothing fancy. The fried rice was really good & surprising — it’s not the standard fried rice that I’m accustomed to — it’s much better! Better quality ingredients = better dish. And if you’re feeling adventurous, go for something spicy. The spice factor is insane here & you can customize the level of heat — just tell the waiter! The prices are pretty reasonable, but the portion sizes are on the small side. Still, a great spot when you want a break from the norm.

Craving for some delectable Thai Food and lovely relaxing ambience, head out to this place called Bua Thai and Sushi.
The place has distinct variety of ambience to offer to its customers. The indoor dining is a perfect fine dine place, with enough silence, has soothing music and lights while the outdoor seating is more upbeat in regards the ambience and lights and has an airy patio for chilling and relaxing times underneath the stars.
We kick started our meal with Vegetable Tempura — Essentially made with baby corn, broccoli and carrots and peanuts in sweet chilli thai sauce was super refreshing. I’ve have always liked this appetiser and Bua did not disappoint me.
Next up was Larb (Lawb) Chicken, that my friend ordered, it is often extremely spicy, but the lime juice and mint leaves make for an exotic and splendid combination.
It can be found on Thai restaurant menus as «chicken salad Thai style». My amigos loved the taste and preparation. MUST Try.
And then came the time for Main Course in which we ordered Spicy tofu and Jasmine rice — the Thai curry was blasting with flavours and can surely be termed as one of the best I have had till date. Although the steamed jasmine rice could not do much to enhance the wonderful flavours and aroma coming out of the hot and steamy tofu Curry. The serving size was average.
My entire meal was accompanied well by a lovely coconut mojito.
Our server served with a big smile and took pleasure in ensuring a wonderful experience.
Bua offers a good variety of vegetarian food options and food can be customised to better suit your needs.
Highly recommended place. A must visit.

A good thai/​japanese restaurant in downtown atlanta. Its located in a shopping plaza with limited parking. so, if you come during feeding hours, parking may be a hassle.
Service was great. Quick to greet you at the door and to tend to our needs. Food was good and the portions were fair. I ordered the pad thai. Flavors were decent. I would prob skip out on the sushi and just order the thai food here. Décor is nice with an interesting centerpiece.
Overall, i’d come back and dine in again.

Bua was packed and understaffed! 2 female waitresses, which included the hostess. I couldn’t tell if the guy was the manager or the bartender, but he became a host, a bartender and a waiter too. It was a mess. I literally watched ppl leave because they were standing there so long waiting to be seated. It’s in Brookhaven, one of the nicer areas in Atlanta and it’s nicely decorated and all that jazz. First time there and appetizers were good. We had Thai rolls, veggie rolls, and more stuff I don’t remember the name of (see pic). I’d say pretty cheap menu, so that too was a plus. My main meal was seafood noodle, but I wasn’t fond of the sauce they had on it. Under the circumstances the staff did do their best to be accommodating to such a busy crowd, so kudos to them.

Very impressive Thai restaurant. I came in for lunch the other day and was first struck by the comfortable feeling of the place. The hostess seated me immediately and my server was there to take my order very quickly. I ordered the Tom Yum soup and beef Panang curry. The soup was outstanding, spicy but not overpowering. The curry was likewise fantastic. Service was excellent, and I look forward to giving Bua more business in the future.

Bua is a Thai and sushi restaurant located in the Town Brookhaven mixed-​use development (the development with Costco and Publix). When entering the development from Peachtree Road, Bua will be on your left near the Olde Blind Dog pub. You can identify it from its green awning. Bua opened in December 2011 and has the same owner as Thai restaurant Mali in Virginia-​Highland.
I was originally going to give Bua three out of five stars («A-​OK»), but after trying their «Fish with Three Flavors» dish, I’m bumping them up to four.
Bua is a nice restaurant. For a Thai restaurant, it could be considered upscale. The restaurant interior is modern, elegant, and classy. I like the décor, some of which is rather ornate. Plentiful indoor and outdoor seating is available. When the weather is nice, the patio is a popular place to be. There are two bars: a sushi bar and a regular bar. The atmosphere is casual and I can see this place being a great date spot.
The restaurant features a pretty standard Thai menu with spring rolls, salads (e.g. papaya salad, beef salad), chicken skewers, soups, curries, beef, pork, chicken, lamb, seafood, noodles (e.g. pad Thai, drunken noodles, pad see ew), and more. At dinnertime, expect to spend about $ 6 – 9 per appetizer and between $ 12 – 17 per entrée.
Sushi is ordered off a traditional sushi menu form, which you mark yourself and hand to the server. They’ve got a limited selection of sashimi, about 20 different types of nigiri, and over 30 kinds of rolls. The nigiri selection is basic, the most impressive being the toro (fatty tuna) at $ 6.00 apiece. Most nigiri will set you back between $ 2.00−3.25 each. Most rolls are around $ 10 – 14 each.
I’ve tried both the Thai food and sushi here. Both are decent. Presentation, particularly for the Thai dishes, is superb.
I recommend sharing an order of the spring rolls. Known as «Crispy Roll» on the menu, four come to an order and are filled with glass noodles, carrots, taro, and cabbage. The rolls are thin and crispy, served atop a bed of noodle crisps, inside an interesting looking, cone-​shaped holder. The spring rolls come with sweet and sour dipping sauce. They are tasty.
The Fish with Three Flavors has both amazing presentation and taste. The fish is pomfret and it is deep fried to a golden brown. The whole fish is served in a shallow bowl. The head and tail of the fish are angled facing upwards. The body of the fish contains several deep-​fried, savory fillets of pomfret. The fish is served in a sauteed chili and tamarind sauce with jumbo onions, red bell pepper, and hot peppers. Here’s a video of the dish:

The fillets are meaty and delicious and the portion size is generous. The sauce is a little overwhelming, so rice helps. If you want to order a dish with some wow factor, the Fish with Three Flavors is the one to get. If you like seafood in general, consider trying the «Fisherman Madness.» It comes with shrimp and scallops sauteed with chili, asparagus, broccoli, onion, carrots, mushrooms, peppers, and basil.
The sushi isn’t bad. The fish is fresh and the quality seems okay. I’ve had an assortment of the nigiri such as sake (salmon), maguro (tuna), hamachi (yellowtail), izumidai (Japanese snapper, a type of tilapia), and scallop. The amaebi (sweet shrimp) nigiri is served with a shrimp’s head for decoration. I wouldn’t necessarily come to Bua just for sushi (I prefer the Thai cuisine here), but it’s certainly a nice option to have, especially when dining with a group.
Service is good. Book reservations on OpenTable and earn free dining points. Parking in Town Brookhaven is free.

Was in Brookhaven with a girlfriend Friday night and looking for a place to eat, so we headed into Town Brookhaven to choose from the options there. I had seen this Thai place before but never tried it; we both decided Thai sounded good, so Bua was our choice.
When we walked in it was pretty packed, and the hostess asked if we had a reservation. We didn’t, so I thought we were going to be out of luck, but they did have space and were able to seat us right away. «Wow, this is a popular spot,» I thought. I was all set for the food to be amazing! Our waiter was nice and friendly. My friend asked for the Tom Kha soup, without mushrooms. I asked for the Tom Yum (mushrooms and all). For entrees, she got the Drunken Noodles and I got the Mamoung Himmaparn — both came as mild (one pepper in the key) by default, and I asked for mine to be made hot (3 peppers). Our waiter came back a minute later because he apparently didn’t write down what meat my friend wanted with her meal (even though she did say). Maybe should’ve been my first sign at his inattentiveness.
After a little while, a different server brought us soup. She pulled what was clearly a mushroom-​full coconut broth Tom Kha off her tray and said «Who got the one with mushrooms?». I puzzedly told her I got mushrooms, but in a Tom Yum. She equally as puzzedly showed us that both were Tom Kha, gave my friend the one without mushrooms, and that she would check about mine. As she zipped off I thought to myself, maybe I should’ve just taken the Tom Kha. It’s not my favourite Thai soup, but I do like it as well. Our waiter came by a bit later and apologized to me, saying they would bring me my Tom Yum. It took them a while, and my friend was already done her soup by the time I got mine. In fact, I was only about halfway into my soup when the entrees came out. For the record though, we both thought our soups were pretty good.
As I polished off my late, mixed up soup, I thought, 1 mistake, not a huge deal. I then turned my attention to my food. The presentation was beautiful — orchid and all. I was a little disappointed at the proportionately measly amount of rice that came with the meat and veggies. It’s always odd to me when places skimp on the rice, which costs them pretty much nothing. Anyway. By the time I got to my meal, my friend had commented a couple times on how incredibly spicy her dish was. At first I thought she was just being a wuss (I mean, it was one pepper, after all), then I thought maybe this place made all their stuff spicier than average, in which case mine was going to be killer. But I dug into mine and it was not spicy. At all. Meanwhile my friend decided she couldn’t finish her meal because she couldn’t handle the spice. Apparently, our waiter also mixed up our spice levels. As for the meals themselves, she loved her dish (except for the spiciness) and I found mine to be… OK. Good, I guess, but I wouldn’t order it again. Our waiter apologized again when he came by and we mentioned it to him. And apologies are nice, but that was his 3^rd sign of inattentiveness. The correct levels of spice maybe would’ve helped my somewhat bland dish, and definitely would’ve allowed my friend to enjoy her experience more and actually finish her meal. Maybe it was busier than usual and he was flustered, I don’t know. I didn’t hold it against his tip, mostly because he was so nice, but I wasn’t impressed. I might give it another shot if I happen to be in the area, and maybe want a noodle dish, but I’m probably not hurrying back here.

I really like this sushi spot. I have been here a few times, and I am usually looking for a reason to go back. I am also, however, looking forward to this place increasing their inspection grade… it has been in the 80’s for the last few visits I have been there. But, that doesn’t take away from the savory food choices there. Also, I have not had a sub par service experience yet, so that is great.

Not sure where to start.
I enter with a lady holding keys and with a winter coat on to greet us
and couldn’t tell if she was on her way in or out.
It’s freezing so this was fine and was seated promptly
in a comfy seat.
This was an impromptu business lunch for 2.
We placed our orders for a salad & a chicken curry dish and let our waiter know to come back for our sushi orders.
Minutes later a wedge of lettuce topped with 3 pieces of chicken and some
dressing came out. It looked basic, but my friend seemed to enjoy it.
A different server took our sushi menu while we were talking and I assumed all would be out soon, after all a salad would only take a minute to make.
35 minutes later I am famished and have to interrupt our conversation to find out where my food was. I look over to see the server eating at the bar.
I waive down another server and then the server stops eating to go speak to chef in kitchen then comes back to repeat my order and within 10mins receive all my dishes. Obviously my food was forgotten.
No apology, no gesture for the delay such as a drink or 10% off or appetizer or ANYTHING.
My $ 40 meal between the two of us is really nothing, but when I mentioned when I received the bill how the service was they immediately asked if I was ready to settle the bill.
I’m in the service industry, an acknowledgement that the food was ordered late and forgotten would of gone a long way.
If it was for them being busy versus distracted it’d be a different story.
One sushi is around the corner and bangkok thyme is my favorite thai spot, so it’s no loss to
me not to return. Just sharing the experience that outweighed the food.
I’ve since heard other nightmare ‘ish stories and wish I had only known prior.

Went here for dinner with a couple friends and honestly I’d say yes to anything in Brookhaven considering the pleasant atmosphere. Was welcomed by a sweet hostess and she suggest outside since inside was a little chilly.
Business was pretty steady despite it being a Monday night but I’ve concluded places around here get packed regardless of the day.
Most of us got the garlic shrimp with the veggies and rice for 15 $, filled my bf up pretty well (with one less shrimp stolen by me). I got the coconut curry soup and it was amaaaazzzinngg. Two friends got the coconut mojito and being a mojito fan myself, I made a pact to get it next time because it was seriously the bomb. Someone else got this huge fish plate and for a couple dollars more, could’ve fed two people. Might try this next time cause I’m a sucker for the sweet sauce drizzled over the crunchy skin and tender meat. So yum!
Service was friendly and at times slow but overall decent.
Honestly I was just happy sitting back and enjoying the view with some good food company. Can’t wait to try other places around here.

Thai food happens to be my favorite food of a lifetime. I am willing and ready to partake of it whenever the moment presents itself. I did not research Bua before visiting because we were looking for a place to eat after a show at the Conant Center. When I saw the sign, I quickly made a right into the plaza that housed Bua. There were a few patrons so we decided to give it a try.
Most of the time, I will start my meal with the Chicken Larb and it did not disappoint. It had just the right amount of spice. My friend started her meal with the Fried Chicken Wing. I tried one and it had a nice balance of sweet and savory and the wing was crisp. For our entrees we ordered Pik King with Beef and Pad Thai. My Pik King was so good and the beef was tender and melted in my mouth. My friend enjoyed her Pad Thai. The shrimps in this dish were jumbo. I ordered my Thai Tea as always and it was good. This was the smallest glass I have ever received it in but I saw the price was $ 2; therefore, I could understand why.
We ended our meal with Stickly Rice and Mango. I must say this was the best rendition I ever had. It was served with some kind of sauce over the rice with something crunchy on top. This was a well balanced dish.
I absolutely loved the décor from the color scheme to the pictures on the wall.
Plenty of parking and located in a well groomed shopping center.
My mind is already set for my second visit.

Town Brookhaven is the place to go for lunch in Brookhaven. There are plenty of restaurant choices, but I never decided on Bua before until my friend chose it for her graduation lunch.
We were seated at a reserved table in the nearly empty restaurant on Saturday afternoon. The menu was a list of typical Thai dishes: curries and noodles. I passed over my usual order of the pad Thai for a hot red curry with beef, which they coined as Ruby Town. It had a nice kick to it. There was a fair amount of curry for the lunch portion, but the rice to curry proportion was pretty off. Other people at the table who ordered curry agreed that there wasn’t enough rice. I wanted to order more rice, but was unsure whether it was complimentary.
Service was a little slow, even though there was a nearly empty restaurant.
Overall, prices were reasonable for a lunch portion. I appreciate when a lunch menu is available on weekends. This is definitely not the best Thai food I’ve had, but it’s not the worst.

So to start off, the glass in which water was served smelled of egg! Server changed it after my request.
the décor — it’s really really well done. Very tasteful and chic. Surely ambience matters.
Kept it simple — an appetizer and an entrée. Had calamari for appetizer. It was rather plain, nothing to write home about.
For entrée I had the soft shell crab which is dipped in batter and fried. The gravy is a mix of vegetables and egg in a spicy sauce with a hint of ginger. Rice is served in an über small container and is $ 1.5 for an extra container. The dish itself was very tasty. The green peppers were actually a bit hot for a change. Till now I’d order this dish again.
However about 30 minutes later after I have returned to my hotel room I started to have itch and signs of allergy. I’ve never had one so a friend video chatted and confirmed it was allergy. We are talking 11:00 pm here. Thankfully the rite aid across the street came to my aid.
I suspect it was not the crab itself but the soft shell which triggered the allergic reaction. That coupled with ordinary service and ‘eggy’ glass makes it a 3 star. However, I will return here if I get the chance.
