Omg those grits!!! I will never be able to eat any other grits the same. So good! The chicken and biscuits were really good too! Oh and the fresh squeezed orange juice… Yumm! Love the old farm kitchen feel as well. parking sucks and waits are long on Sunday but so worth it!

The chicken biscuits, although a bit pricey, were southern-food heaven. We were super impressed by the food as well as our server! The only complaint I could share is that the 1 hour wait for a table is rather annoying. Perhaps call-ahead seating, reservations or something like that would be in order for a restaurant that is so popular?

The wait here is RIDICULOUS. The 2nd time we came, we were like — 8:30 on a sunday, perfect. everyone will be at church… no, everyone was waiting in line! We had a table of 4(first available) and it was 45 minute wait. so we parked(they have weird parking situations but on sundays, pretty much anywhere is free game). Food — Yummyyyyy. I was heading to the pool later, so I ordered sensibly — chicken sausage with organic berries and hash browns. Everything was so good. The berries were a little small for the price but I guess that’s why they’re organic. I just felt healthy AF eating those berries. The Chicken sausage was pretty good, a little thin, but that’s about all I could eat. The rest of my group got the chicken biscuit(which I got last time and it was TOTESAMAZE). It is HUGE literally so large. and I did have a few bite of my husbands — because you can’t just not take a bite or three… The chicken was flavorful, the biscuit was crunchy on the outside and super fluff on the inside. so good… Service — Pretty good — Not much to say, they refilled my coffee when I wanted, same with the water. answered all my questions, suuuper friendly server. Atmosphere — we sat outside since we did«first available» and I must say, it was pleasant. It wasn’t super hot yet(it was supposed to get up to 90) but a tad on the humid side, but it was nice to be out in the fresh air. The inside seemed cozy and bustling with people, I think I prefer outside as it was probably quieter. Parking — As I mentioned above. it’s weird, they have a super small parking lot in the back, a few spaces up front, but you really have to read their sign about parking, there are various parking lots that are allowed on certain days… so just be aware! I’m so glad we moved to Sandy Springs so we could drive here… this place will probably end up being our go-to to take out of towners to try — especially the chicken biscuit.

Everything here from our waitress to the adorable decorations, and obviously, to the food was AMAZING! Our waitress was Nicole and she was SOOOO friendly and outgoing. She was able to give great recommendations and I could tell she loved the food herself. The food was fantastic! I got the Lox bagel, and my friend got a double stack of pancakes with some berries. The lox bagel has salmon that isn’t smoked, but beet-cured which was different than normal lox bagels, but honestly, I liked it better! We will definitely be returning!

This place was a wonderful find. We had the two egg breakfast, the biscuit was light and fluffy with a crunchy exterior. Bacon was yummy. She loved the cold press coffee. I had grits and eggs. Eggs cooked perfect and awesome stone ground grits. The local sausage was my favorite part of meal. So good. Highly recommend. Downside is this place is popular and be ready to wait in line.

Pretty good brunch spot. House converted restaurant, so not much space inside, and parking sucks, BUT the food is fantastic and I really like how everything is locally sourced. We had the chicken biscuit and the BLT(no B with Kale as the side). The kale was a ginormous portion for a side surprisingly. My husband and I tried to come one Sunday around brunch time, that was a bad idea. It was a 2 hour wait time. Went a 2nd time, on a Saturday somewhat earlier, there was a 1 hour wait but ended up being 30 min. Parking: They have a small lot behind the restaurant, some street parking, and the small bank parking lot in the shopping center next to it. But even on a busy weekend morning there are no spots… I would recommend this for brunch, but go early.

This is one of my favorite breakfast spots if ur willing to wait. It’s always extremely busy for brunch but it’s well worth it. Locally sourced and owned by a very interesting woman that seems to really care about sustainably grown foods and cooking with integrity. Their fried chicken sandwich with house made biscuit, pickles, and pepper jelly is killer and quite obviously a favorite when u look around at what people are ordering. They also have awesome collard greens that are cooked in coconut oil which gives them a different flare from the normal over cooked greens in the south. Great grits and sweet potato pancakes as well.

Came here on a Thursday early March around 11am. Ordered a chicken biscuit(based on reviews) and a side of hashbrowns. I recommend it.

Just wanting the employees to give a damn shouldn’t be too much to ask right? That’s what I thought when I brought my wife, my 3 yr old son and another couple and their 2 boys. That’s a total of 4 adults and 3 children wanting to have brunch on a Thursday morning. The staff couldn’t care less about seating us. I realize that seating 6 – 7 is more difficult than the typical 2 – 4 but this was as if WE were a nuisance or annoyance at best with our party. We arrived at 10:15am and even though there was an entire patio empty, the hostess didn’t want to seat us there because of a reservation at NOON! Not 11am but noon! That’s 105 minutes later! We had to plead with them to get them to seat us at that table. Finally we were able to convince them we would be done in time for the reservation at noon but she wouldn’t move the two tables together to accommodate us because they were locked to the patio. We literally had to finagle the tables awkwardly on our own to try and sit together. The staff watched us do this with total apathy and looking at us as if we were the problem. THEY watched US move tables so we could sit. Only because people were watching us and I didn’t want to ruin our morning did we not make a bigger deal of this than we did. The food was very good and of course the chicken biscuit was great but it was forgotten by this group because of the apathy and deplorable service by the blond at the front desk and the young woman referred to ask Jackie. Definitely some ego filled individuals working there. I mean, it’s good food but it’s not THAT good that service just doesn’t matter anymore. Anyone can serve great food… but not everyone can provide a great dining experience. BIGDIFFERENCE!

I wasn’t expecting to like the pimento cheese grits as much as I did but my goodness they were delicious and their biscuits are humongous! Stopped by one random morning with my boyfriend, he had the chicken biscuit and grits and I had eggs, sausage, hash browns and a biscuit. Everything was delicious and I left stuffed. Besides parking(there aren’t many parking spaces on their lot so you have to park on the street or other establishments in the vicinity), I enjoyed the place and I’m certainly interested in giving them another visit.

I saw the reviews and couldn’t wait to try out this breakfast spot sensation… I pulled in and parking was crazy… I then got on the waiting list and my party of only two including me, sat down for 20 min waiting on a seat… I was so hungry so seeing people being delivered their meals didn’t help the hunger pains… When I came to Buttermilk Kitchen I knew I had to have the famous Buttermilk Biscuit… and when I finally got seated I literally got the last chicken biscuit. Here’s my take on it: It’s delicious but the biscuit crumbles a lot … It was a breakfast date so this was not the dish to pick. Messsssy and I couldn’t hold it all together… my plate ended up looking like I was cookie monster. I loved that they had natural grapefruit juice!!! like so natural. I believe its freshly squeezed. I had to add sugar. it was that RAW… After I ate, leaving this place was a relief… only because of how packed and small it is. I just walked right past people feeling accomplished!!! I came. I sat and I ate… I’m done… This place is good. but I rather go when its not so busy.

I heard a lot about this place and the lines are always long so I thought I should check it out. I ordered the chicken biscuit. The biscuit was huge but not at all flavorful. The chicken was bland as well. Overall I was underwhelmed. Maybe I will give it another try and order the pancakes. However, it won’t be anytime soon given I was not impressed and the long lines and wait time.

SERIOUSLYMYFAVORITE This place has a wait that is so depressing, we almost didn’t go. You have to go here, expecting at least an hour wait. so if you want to eat at 10, get your name down by at least 9. As long as you factor that into your visit here, you’re golden. All the food is great. The thick cut bacon is amazing. The fried chicken biscuit is incredible the grits are incredible. You can’t go wrong. I love it.

This place is awesome! The servers and the food are great. I love that they have a juice of the day and fresh squeezed oj. To me their biscuit is ok but it is soft on the inside and tastes great with jelly. Our server David(or Dave for short I think) did an amazing job and was patient when ordering. Here also made me feel good about the menu options I chose. My boyfriend really enjoyed the chicken biscuit. I liked the pimento cheese grits but found that after awhile it was just too cheesy for me, but he loveeddd them. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant and can’t wait to go back!

Buttermilk Kitchen is a great little brunch spot with some traditional and non– traditional breakfast and lunch type foods. It’s located in a cute building(resembling a house) with more seating than you would expect looking at it from the street. I started with a glass of the juice of the day: a mango, lime, spinach and maybe one other fruit I don’t remember. I shared the chocolate-zucchini muffin with my husband which was tasty and much like a dessert. For my entrée I had the Short Rib Bahn Mi sandwich and my husband had the Chiliquiles(both on the Saturday/Sunday brunch special menu). I loved the Bahn Mi, and would say it competes with those you find on Buford Highway. The Chiliquiles were also very good, although not crunchy like I was expecting. I highly recommend trying Buttermilk Kitchen for brunch. The staff is super friendly, and the wait for a table was shorter than expected.

I came here on a Saturday morning around 11:30. It was definitely peak time. It took me about 7 min just to turn in because there was a line of cars turning ahead of me and then there wasn’t anywhere to park. They have a few spots in the front and back but if those are full you can park at 10 degrees South. I ended up parking there, it’s a very short walk back to Buttermilk Kitchen. Trust me after eating here you’ll be glad for the walk. They told us it was going to be 1– 1.5 hour wait. Since we were already there and it was a pretty day outside we decided to wait anyway. I’m glad we did because it ended up only being a 30 min wait. It is small inside but really cute. Everyone I know that’s been talks about their chicken biscuits so I ordered that with hash browns. When the food came I knew I made the right choice lol. The chicken biscuit was huge. Idk why I was expecting something the size of a Chick Fil A biscuit. The hash browns looked like fried green tomatoes. I almost thought they gave me the wrong thing. My food was delicious and I had half of the chicken biscuit to take home for later. Everyone was happy with their meal and we all look forward to going back. I read somewhere that they have once a month byob fancy fried chicken dinner. I def want to attend one of those soon.

Just no. New to Atlanta, and have bookmarked several restaurants I was excited to try. Needless to say with its great Unilocal reviews, Buttermilk Kitchen was one of them. I couldn’t wait to try the chicken biscuit and pimento cheese grits. Came on a Friday mid-morning, and still had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. Fair enough, they’re popular, I get it. Then I saw the sign. They’re out of chicken biscuits. Seriously? Reading through the reviews, and talking to my server, apparently this happens all the time. Why is this OK? Has anyone ever asked them why? That’s like telling your employer, «hey, I always miss deadlines and that’s just how it is.» If you know you sell out one day, don’t you make plans to sure you order correctly from that point forward? Unless they are trying to create some sort of supply and demand situation for them(which would be ridiculous) to me it just seems like poor kitchen management. But then the kicker for me; I noticed there was only sugar in the raw on the table. Sometimes restaurants don’t put out Splenda, so I asked if they had any non-sugar sweetener in the back, any brand. Nope. I asked my server, so for diabetics or people who can’t have sugar, they’re just out of luck unless they bring their own, then? Yep. Listen, I get it that a lot of chefs and foodies think that artificial sweetener is the devil. Hell, I’d prefer to be able to douse my coffee with sugar too. But the reality is some people can’t, and if you don’t care about serving all of your customers, that sends me a very clear message. Now the good-ish: the place is cute(though I was seated in a super uncomfortable 2-top in a hallway, but that happens sometimes when you’re just a party of one. The chairs and table were so awkward and uncomfy that not one, but two parties in the same tables next to me actually asked to be moved to a different table/area) service was excellent, and the biscuits were epic. The pimento grits were OK, my eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chicken sausage was delicious. I rarely complain about cost, but $ 17 before tip for an egg breakfast and coffee seems a tad much. Overall, a lot of talent in the kitchen, but some serious ego at play here as well. Can’t imagine ever coming back.

Wow, amazing(x10)! This is one of the most amazing brunch places I have been. There is a reason there was about an hour wait here. I have heard about the chicken biscuits here, so I had to come bring Justin(who also loves chicken biscuits & pimento cheese) here. Everything we got was amazing! Their chicken biscuit is one of the most amazing I have ever had. The biscuit was crispy, but not too hard or dry. It had pimento cheese and a roasted pepper jam. The condiments were light but a great touch. The fried chicken was amazing. One of the best I’ve ever had. I don’t like fried chicken with bone, so I loved this one. The pimento cheese grits were also amazing each bite. Their coffee tastes great. We also tried their snickedoodle pancakes which were heavy but the baked apple compote on top was a nice light addition. It also had this brown sugar glaze which enhanced them. I would recommend just adding a little bit of maple syrup, because they’re already sweet by themselves. Also, we tried their walnut cake which was awesome! Service was excellent. The décor was home-y and comforting and they even have a Thomas Keller(Executive chef The French Laundry and other big restaurants) quote in the dining room. Be careful about parking! You an park at 10 Degrees South everyday as well as Rickenbacker past the condos. Parking is allowed at the Chiro center Wednesdays and Fridays thru Sunday. Sundays you can park everywhere except Mirko Pasta. Parking is never allowed at Chastian Square. There are signs that state your car will be «booted.»

I think I just found my new favorite breakfast spot! When I read the reviews on this place I was thinking there is NOWAY their chicken biscuit is better than ChickfilA. Boy was I wrong! The size of it is humongous and the taste was absolutely amazing. The biscuit itself was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The piece of chicken was very big but juicy cooked just right. They have this special spicy jam that they make that was a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. It was so good that I got one to-go for my boyfriend to try & even he said it was the best chicken biscuit he’s ever had. I also had hash browns and the juice of the day(which was supper good). The price wasn’t bad either. For 2 chicken biscuits w/sides and my juice of the day my total was $ 30. Now to rewind a little bit, the wait was suppose to be 30−45min and I ended up being seated in 20min. So wasn’t bad at all. The dinning area is a little tight but not uncomfortable. More like cozy. Only negative is the parking situation. The parking lot attended instructed me to park down the street a little at 10 South because their lot was full. This place did not disappoint. It truly exceeded my expectations. 4 stars(would have been 5 but that parking situation was irritating).
