Nice, friendly atmosphere. Have been here twice, once for dinner, once for weekend brunch. Food was pretty good, and servers were relatively nice and quick. Got the Eggs Benedict for brunch, and it was quite tasty. Also enjoyed the grits.

We were going to eat somewhere else down the street but hadn’t been here in a while and decided to go. Good decision. Such a unique authentically«Atlanta» spot with FRESH menu items and great service. I’ll be back for brunch

You want to come here for a date, even if it is from Tinder! The place has just the right amount of lighting, the right amount of dark, and the perfect amount of cozy. There is a table couch and a table bench and then around 5 or so normal tables on the bar side. about 10 tops on the Café side. The bar seat around 8 to 10, and it is cozy, intimate, and well tended. The wonderful bartender gal was kind enough to make me Hot toddys, which I had 2 of! No smoking ties it to perfection.

Nice little restaurant, we taste only breakfast. Breakfast is good and here is many changes. Staff is lovely and helpful. They know what customers want. Little bit expensive but doesn’t matter because very good food and coffee.

we came here with our dog, Simba on a beautiful Saturday morning. We grabbed ourselves a seat outside and were promptly attended to by 2 servers! That’s a first for us. One did the talking, the other took the order. Pleasant surprise. Our dog even got attended too. We got our coffees promptly too after that our server had to come back twice because of the extensive menu, we couldn’t decide. Once we ordered, we waited for a reasonable time to get our food. The crab benedict was delish and de-a-lot! Be prepared to take home some or skip the muffin to not overeat. Love this place!

Walked in today at 1pm with family for lunch. Woman sitting on lounge seat that people sit and eat at was changing her filthy baby’s diaper on the seat with no blanket under her butt. She laid the diaper down on the table and wiped her baby’s butt on the seat. When confronted that this was unsanitary and disgusting, she informed me that the manager/owner said it was ok. When I spoke to him, he didn’t think anything was wrong with someone changing a filthy diaper in the middle of the restaurant at an area that people dine at while patrons were having brunch I suggested the bathroom, duh. He said there wasn’t a changing table but hey, the lounge sit in the middle of the restaurant is a great changing table. Does he think the health inspector would agree with this. I can’t wait to have my breakfast with a side of a baby poop. It was disgusting and if this is ok in his dining room, I wonder how the kitchen is handled or if the employees wash their hands. I will report to the county health inspector. I find this unacceptable, filthy, a health hazard and mishandled by the manager.

Solid spot in Cabbagetown with a cool, laid back vibe. Went for brunch and it was just okay-there were a decent variety of options, but the food itself was nothing to write home about.

My five star rating is based solely on my experience with their superb desserts. They have a display case with a broad selection of magnificent cakes and pies. I tried three different offerings during a recent visit to Atlanta. I think the Amaretto cake was my favorite. They have a cake with Kahlua in it, which was really rich and decadent. The chocolate and raspberry mousse cake was a little lighter, but very good. Can’t wait to try some more of their sweet treats!

Worst service, ever. I think that the servers are more concerned with their hair than service. I have been here more than once and have had a mediocre experience every time. It seems to somehow be getting worse. The food is good enough, but the servers disappear and reappear. Their attitude is like they’re doing you a favor by getting you anything. One of them, literally, rolled their eyes when I asked for a refill on my water. Overall, it’s disappointing.

This place is a gem! From the sunny«MoreMosa’s» to the bloody Mary’s this palace has a firm grip on the market! There is balance in this location. The food compliments the drinks the drinks compliments the desserts. The staff and personable and on point. The food was very good. I would have appreciated more heat on the serving, but it’s snowing in Atlanta so go figure. Nonetheless, it still was a good experience. The cabbage town breakfast specials are wonderful. I had the eggs potatoes, biscuits and chicken sausage. And they where really good. You can tell the chef put some passion into his elbow grease. Monica was our server and she went the extra and explained how the dinner menu works since we were visiting for brunch. Overall the experience was a 10b I totally endorse this place and ask that you support more business’s like this one. Keep it local!

A huge let down. Beyond the mediocre coffee, which in and of itself would not warrant a review, but I felt the need to publicize the experience I had at this café. After buying a bagel from a street vendor, I came in with a friend to buy a cup of coffee(no food) and was berated by presumably the manager for not ordering food. After explaining that we were paying customers in a relatively empty café, we were eyed down for the remainder of the morning by said manager. I also have a disdain for managers who believe their job is to stand around empty-handed and bark orders at employees instead of helping(which is what I witnessed). So all-in-all, I won’t be returning. I hope the manager is reading this and rethinks how he interacts not only with paying customers coughing up almost $ 8 for two cups of coffee, but also with his employees and what he thinks being a good manager means.

Carroll Street Café is located right in the heart of the Cabbagetown restaurant strip on Carroll Street. The atmosphere is great and it’s usually somewhat crowded. This is one of my go-to date spots because of the ambiance and food. They have good week day happy hour specials, including half off bottles of wine and $ 5 tapas plates. As far as tapas go, I really like the flank steak, scallops, and pizza(depending on what kind it is). My friend ordered the potato tapa which definitely wasn’t worth $ 5, let alone the actual price. It’s great to split 3 – 4 of these with someone too. As far as the full entrees go, the seafood penne is good and I also enjoy the classic cobb sandwich. The salads are all pretty good, but I’m not much of a salad eater at restaurants unless they’re reallllly good. They also have lots of desserts in a glass case that you can check out and order. The service I’ve had here has been so-so. Sometimes it’s great, and sometimes not so much. Depends on who I have and when I go. The only meal I didn’t particularly like here was brunch. Wouldn’t recommend for that, but do think it’s a great place for dinner, especially a dinner date.

Charles C. was our server and checked on our table ZERO times. He came to take our order and give our check. He was clearly talking about our table to another employee. My friend asked how the bloody Mary’s were here and he replied«they suck» sarcastically and was rude about it. The Bloody Mary was disgusting and had to be returned to the bar. None of the staff was happy to be there or even somewhat helpful. Overall a terrible experience.

Just fantastic! The ambiance was really chill and the server was super nice and attentive. She provided recommendations on what to eat since my friend and I were new to the restaurant. We ordered the hot chicken meals with Cuban coffees. The food was delicious and didn’t take very long to make. I’d definitely come here again!

Cool place! Great service! I went for a Friday evening dinner. I prefer to sit inside. The side walk seating was too busy(with car and foot traffic) for me to enjoy. The bar and bakery is small but good. Dining room seating is tight. RSVP on busy days and look for your table when you arrive. They won’t always communicate the RSVP to the wait staff but they are cool about honouring their word. The food/drinks selection, and quality, is outstanding… if you don’t mind experimenting. Ignore the menu on the website. What i wanted wasn’t available but what i decided on was epic, nonetheless. The location is on a busy, crowded, somehow 2-way street. The neighbours don’t mind you parking in front of their homes but the dogs do lol! I’m going back for brunch ASAP!

This is my local café, so it pains me to give a low star rating since I want more people to come here and put dollars into the community, however I had such a poor experience last night I feel compelled to share it. My mom and I went to dinner at Carroll Street Café. We had a server that I hadn’t met before named Alex. Alex came out to get our order pretty quickly, she wasn’t pleasant at all, but I assumed she was busy with other guests. As our meal progressed, things got worse, our food(tapas) was brought to our table with no serving spoons which means we’d have to use the utensils we are eating with to pull food out of the bowls, and that is not only unsanitary for us, it’s just plain lazy of the restaurant. Alex came back to check on us with a «I am better than this job» type attitude, asking us if the food was OK and without waiting for response headed back inside. Okay, fine. It is what it is, I thought. While I like to stay and socialize and continue to order food and drinks, I was so underwhelmed with every«touch point» that her and I had, when the food runner came out, I asked for a to-go box, some extra bread, and our check. Alex brought the check out with a to-go box, but we had no way to put our left over hummus into the box(only a butter knife was left on the table), so I asked«can you please bring out a spoon so we can transfer the food?». To which she replied«why can’t you use the knife?» — I smiled and let her know that knife wasn’t going to do the trick and asked again for a spoon. Five minutes later she brought the spoon and my receipt for the purchase, but no bread. I signed the receipt, tipped 20%(because I can be a sucker), and waited for the bread to come out. Had we not paid for the bread, I would have just left because it took so long. So long, in fact, I had to track down someone else that worked at the restaurant to inquire about it… and, the bread had been ready, Alex just hadn’t brought it out yet. Go figure. As I left the restaurant, I saw Alex standing at the bar and I said«hey, we were still waiting on the bread» — to which, she responded(in what I perceived to be layered with sarcasm), «great, bye!» I left the restaurant, bread and hummus in tow, in disbelief. I not in disbelief that the server lacked professionalism… I was in disbelief because of how unprofessional she was, it was as if she didn’t want her job and was taking it out on my experience at the restaurant. A really poor showing. To top it off, I called Carroll Street to inquire about who the manager is… the girl that picked up the phone replied«we have different managers every night» «well, who is your general manager?» I ask. «I don’t know… maybe it’s Tim. Yeah, I think it’s Tim» she concluded. I thanked her and hung up the phone, wondering if this girl not knowing who the manager is was indicative of turnover at the manager level… which would then explain the lack of training my server had, and maybe why she seemed so annoyed in the first place. Just hypothesizing. Two stars because the food was good, but poor service will always undermine a good meal.

Slow in cohesive service, and the waitress didn’t come back to check on us. Waffles were just okay, and not crisp at all. The potatoes were undercooked. The Crab Benedict was dry and there was not enough hollandaise sauce on it. Parking is inconvenient and hard to find. Overall I wasn’t impressed one bit.

Carroll Street is a perfect 3.5 stars to me. I’m not quite a fan, but I keep on coming back, so there’s definitely something here that’s more than just A-OK. I like the spirited service, quaint and un-stuffy interior, the tons of tempting desserts in the display case, and reasonable prices. I like that the menu has a lot of different options from salads to breakfast, and that they’ll let you sub the side of fries for a double salad. I like that they have no problems working large groups. I don’t mind that they don’t have dedicated parking, because I’ve never had an issue getting a street spot. Sometimes the food just doesn’t quite live up to the menu description. I can’t explain it, but flavor combos that sounds delightful on paper don’t *quite* live up to my imagination on the plate. Also, one time I got the worst food poisoning ever from a grilled salmon sandwich here. However, like I said, I still come back even after getting sick, because this place is so cute.

I love this part of town. It’s very laid back and everyone is always friendly. The hardest part is finding parking. Once you have that down, you’re golden. It’s perfect for a romantic date, this is where I first met up with my current boyfriend so it holds a soft spot in my heart too. I came in here on a Monday when they offered discount apps and happy hour drinks. We tried everything on the tapas menu and found that it was all delicious. Our favorite where the charcuterie, the lamb sliders and the scallops. They offer great mixed drinks and local beers too.

This place is tucked away on Caroll Street. I love how the area is a hidden laid back gem in the heart of the city. The restaurant is cozy. A good spot for happy hour or a date. Monday night is $ 5 on all Tapas. The wines were half off. I absolutely loved this and I ordered about 7 Tapas and the featured wine. Everything was cooked lovely. My favorite thing was the Caprese Salad and the Steak. So yummy. Still haven’t sampled any entres but the wine was amazing. Dessert is worth trying too. Assorted cheesecakes and all. I must mention there is not a lot of parking options that are convenient but find one because its worth it!

I came with a party of 5 on a Saturday for brunch, and we were seated pretty quickly. It’s a pretty cool, eclectic vibe. Parking is on street(although there might be free valet? Not sure) — but I had no issues finding a spot. I ordered the crab cake Benedict with the potatoes and sans fruit(mixed fruit generally has melon which I’m allergic to)… But I was kind of surprised when our waitress didn’t offer me a substitute item. It didn’t bug me too much. Generally, I wasn’t too impressed. The meal was fine, but I expected it to be better than it was. I liked the crab cakes but my eggs were not poached well at all. One was completely overdone and one was half overdone. The potatoes were okay– compared to other really great brunch potatoes I’ve had before. The others in my group ordered either the bacon or sausage omelette. They said they were really good, so maybe I should have went with that instead. The atmosphere was fine with one exception– I found it way to loud to carry on conversation. Our waitress was good– polite, friendly, and prompt. Overall, I would come back if a friend wanted to or if I was in the area. I don’t know that I’d go out of my way to come back.

Was planning on having dinner at Agave, but the wait was an hour, so we decided to go to the nearest restaurant. And, I’m glad that we did! We ordered from their tapas menu and everything was delicious! We had the lamb sliders, shrimp, flank steak, scallops, pork belly and crab cakes. We also ordered their chocolate ganache, which was also very good. Oh, and their tapas are half off mon– thurs, from 3−7pm. The ambiance had a cool and relaxed vibe. The service was okay. They were attentive, but I kinda felt like the server wasn’t very familiar with the menu. Parking is a pain but they do have complimentary valet.

Nothing tickles my excitement better than satisfying brunch indulgence. Carroll was a good grub for a Sunday. Food: 4. I got the Benedict and managed to exceed my expectations. The dirty chai took it home but better top presentation next time. Service: 4. Attentive and pleasant. No long wait time past 10 mins. Ambience: 5. Pretty chic. Location is nice. Parking: They have comp valet about 250ft away. I’ll be back.
