You can’t make appointments, so you just have to hope they’re not busy when you go. I walked in and she had a customer she was working on. I figured it would be a few minutes, so I sat down and waited. After almost half an hour she finished with that customer and then told me that it would be another 35 minutes before she could get to me and expected me to wait that whole time. I’m sorry, but I won’t wait an entire hour just to get my hair cut. That’s absolutely ridiculous.

I have been getting my hair cut here since I moved to EP in 2006. A very good cut at a great price. The issues that Keith W mentions are no longer an issue. The main offender was told to leave by the owner years ago. Then about a year ago, a beauty shop on Washington Rd. lost it’s space due to a fire, so the owner Elizabeth graciouslly offered them space in her shop, and in fact they have decided to stay. Therefore not much room for folks to just«hang out» there anymore. But you do get the great vibe of a neighborhood barber and beauty salon in one. And alot of the equipment is vintage, so it really is like going back in time. And if you are lucky, the parrot will be parked in his favorite place, under one of the hair dryers, which is truly a sight to be seen.

Came back again with my 17 month old son. We had to wait a while as there were several people in front of us. The parrot is still as talkative as ever, the stylist is still as friendly as ever and the haircuts as good as ever! My son cried less this time than last-maybe this is a trend-lol.

Sorry but lots of vulgarity and racial jokes from regulars that use the shop as a local hang out. The service is good and the hair cuts are top notch, even serving ladies, however you will have to be prepared for the un censored banter, not a place to take your children. Otherwise they do give hair cuts if that is what you are looking for.
