Best Indian food in Atlanta! The samosas, lamb and chicken korma are to die for. The garlic nan is perfect. All in all you must give this place a try!

This is the best Indian food! We have food allergies: gluten and cilantro. They are able to make anything we have ever tried to order without those allergens. That usually doesn’t happen for us at Indian restaurants. At one place, the cilantro was such a problem that my husband had one option. I can’t believe how great the food is here. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for good Indian food delivered then this place is great. I have only picked up food or had it delivered, but every time I go in they are very friendly. The sag paneer is very good and the sauce on the butter chicken is rich and creamy.

My pals and I are suckers for good Indian food, but honestly we weren’t expecting much when we ordered some quick hotel delivery on our way to an event. My buddies trusted me to order and I didn’t steer them wrong – but I think Heart of India deserves at least as much credit as I do. I picked vegetarian samosas, garlic naan, with the saag paneer and chana masala as appetizers for three hungry adults. Everything was exceptional and we were all stuffed. The entrees both came with a humdrum chicken-broth(I think?) based soup that I didn’t eat, but my friend enjoyed, and I appreciate any kind of surprise free food even if I don’t eat it. Chana masala was pleasantly spicy ordered at medium level, with a complex tomato sauce. Saag paneer had plenty of cheese, and probably more flavor for any saag dish I’ve ever ordered. Tons of coriander, cumin, cilantro, and more to enjoy up in there. I’m endlessly sad I can’t enjoy your fare sitting on my own couch in Florida, watching Netlfix. I’ll dream of you Heart of India, way down in Miami – the Badlands of Indian cuisine. Netflix binging without you.

The Indian dishes are absolutely incredible! The food is extremely fresh, which really brings all the flavors to life. Every dish is an explosion of flavors in your mouth! They even have special Indian breads, which are delicious. Their menu is literally an adventure of flavors. We are in our quest to experiment all the dishes in the menu, and one dish is better than the other, amazing! You can ask for the dish to come with different levels of spice. Up until now, my favorite dish has been the lamb bhuna. Not only the food is great, but the service is amazing! The owner always comes around the table to ask about how is the food and our dinner experience. All the waiters are very knowledgeable and well educated. It is not a fancy restaurant, so don’t expect an over-the-top décor. It has a simple décor, with soothing Indian music playing in the background. But we don’t come here for the décor, we come for the unbelievable food and the very good service level. It doesn’t hurt that it’s also very affordable and it is in a strip mall with plenty of parking space.

Excellent service. From the moment I walked in I was greeted and didn’t have to wait at all to be acknowledged. The staff was courteous and respectful. My food came out fast and it was great. Vegetable samosas were light and crispy tasty. The chicken tikka masala was also spot on. Prices are very reasonable and portions are solid. They also deliver up to 17 miles away. Great stuff!

I thought this place was pretty darn good, especially the quality of meats while meat portions seemed to be limited. We ordered the following: Mixed tandoori platter Bone-in tandoori chicken Vegetable samosas Onion bhaje Chana masala Saag paneer Tadka daal Chicken tikka masala Lamb pasanda Chicken coconut curry I really didn’t mess with any of the vegetarian dishes and heard mixed reviews on those items. I’m assuming the vegetarian dishes aren’t as good as Masala cuisine in Patel plaza. However, the bone-in chicken was very well crafted and the marinade was truly delicious. Probably could keep eating that non-stop for quite a while. The lamb pasanda was very tender and actually spicy. Lamb was extremely tender as well. The CTM was pretty standard but not overly heavy. This place had a similar flavor profile to purnima, which I like as well.

I have received delivery and sat in this review will focus on the delivery. Overall the food is delicious and if you order 2 meals and one order of naan you get a free samosa. Usually delivery is extremely quick however today it took well over an hour. Most restaurants wouldn’t care but to apologize they cut my bill from 38 dollars to 20. I would recommend everyone to heart of India as a great value restaurant.

I have ordered delivery from this restaurant several times and their tandoori chicken is top notch! Hits the spot every time. I have tried their vindaloo, samosas, naan, sag paneer and tikka masala and they never disappoint. One of my few go to restaurants for satisfying my Indian food craving in Atl!!!

This is one of the best Indian restaurants in GA! If you come in for dinner, don’t let the emptiness of the room away your judgment of this place. In fact, you will love the peace you have while enjoying Heart of India’s amazing food. The wait staff is ALWAYS amazing. They are funny, kind, and attentive. You will never see the bottom of your drinking glass or your rice dish. Everything at this restaurant is delicious. I have been a few times and test many of the dishes on the menu; always satisfied and in heaven. Oh and it’s BYOB, and located conveniently next to a liquor store.

I give it a 5 stars because this place is absolutely amazing. Being Indian, I had myself convinced that no indian food in the US could taste as good as the food in India. I stand corrected, the food in Heart of India is flavorful, delicious, and beautifully executed. My husband and I ordered the Chicken tikka masala and chicken Biryani. We picked«hot» as our rating of spice. Let me tell you, they don’t joke about their spice levels. If you’re more of the mild/medium spice preferred individual, do not play with increasing up a notch in sake of experiment. The service– great!!! Your glass of water was always full. You could ask any question about the menu and they’re willing to take their time and explain the menu. The ambience– I personally think they could lighten the lights up a little. But the impeccable food compensates for the cons.

I have never had a bad meal here. I have always had great, pleasant meals here. Food is rich and delicious, never greasy or oily. It’s filling and satisfying, but doesn’t kill you. I never regret filling up here. Ever. I spent three months in India in 2012, have sought out Indian food all over the US, and know what terrible Indian food can taste like. This is not terrible Indian food, this is fantastic Indian food, and you should really come here and eat that food. I often come here as a group of three people, and we order three entrees, and share. It’s the way to do it for sure. You will be full. You will be happy. The usual check is around $ 40 – 50 plus tip for the lovely staff that always greets me/us with a smile and some pleasant conversation. They’re great. As of May 2012, this place is a BYOB spot. So bring your soft-sided cooler of beer, or a bottle of wine, and stay a while. No corking fees that I’ve ever seen. There’s a place to buy drinks in the same shopping mall. Easy. Hurry up and go here. Or order delivery — they run a pretty serious delivery operation as well. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED. YES.

First time we went here we thought the food was good and thought that when we saw a roach on the floor that every restaurant does get them. This time however can not do it and will never go back. While waiting for our order a large roach walked across the table in front of me. Actually more of a leisurely stroll as if daring me to do something about it, We let the staff know about it and they offered to move our table or pack up the food for us. Are you kidding me!!! If that is in the dining room I dint want to know what your kitchen looks like. Additional note: Sir, I am NOT a liar and that is a large roach on the table. As for saying it flew in the door you must be talking about another customer as we weren’t by the door but in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen and nothing in the conversation with your staff(not you!) ever was mentioned about anything flying in the door. Therefore, it seems that finding bugs is a common occurrence at your place and considering I have never seen you I would not have told you anything. Considering you have a restaurant next to you and the other businesses in the plaza maybe once a month for the exterminator is not enough.

I LOVE Indian cuisine. One of my favorite spots in Atlanta to eat at is Planet Bombay. I worked in the neighborhood for years and I miss eating there for lunch nearly every day. That being said, Heart of India is just as, if not more, delicious than Planet Bombay. We ordered from Grubhub last night, and I’m so glad we did. Everything came piping hot and fresh. We ordered: — vegetable masala — beef pasanda — mango lassi — vegetable samosas — cheese nan Everything was delicious. The dipping sauces were loaded with flavor, and rice that came with our entrees was perfect. My mango lassi was so tasty that I almost did not want to share it with my son! My son is a picky eater and he loved nearly everything he tried. We will definitely be ordering again. Delivery was fast and everything was hot and wrapped up with care. Looking forward to trying the tofu dishes next time!

My boyfriend and I tried this place b/c I had never had Indian food before. We went in and it really wasn’t a busy night. Not sure if it was just because it was a Tuesday night or that place really doesn’t get packed like that. My boyfriend got the impression that the place wasn’t that good because they really didn’t have a lot of business. They serves us w/two complimentary appetizers. One was the Mulligatawny soup. It was very lentil-ly which we’re not fans of but hey it was complimentary so I can’t complain. I ended up having the lamb tikka masala(mild) with garlic nan and I really enjoyed it it had a very creamy tomato sauce & when I dipped it with my nan I felt like I could have made a pizza out of it lol. My boyfriend had the beef madras. He requested it spicy and that is exactly what he got. It was SPICY, but good. Overall it was really like a restaurant that you may overlook but is actually pretty delicious once you try it. Our waiter also was very very nice and open to answering my questions! It was a great first experience, my boyfriend thinks so too.(: I will definitely be coming back!

Best Indian food I’ve ever had. Their to go game is on point but do yourself a favor and dine in. Servers and management are quick to give suggestions, free food, and overall great customer service. Try chicken makhani, its a butter sauce. You also will love the cheese naan. I go here at least 3 times a month. They are usually on scout mob!

Gotta bring them back to a 4. Sorry. Last night the garlic naan was raw in places. When I have to pick around the edges because the center is still wet, that’s not good. And I ordered the Chicken Tikka Biryani. Just don’t ever order this dish, worse than fried rice at a cheap chinese takeout. Other than that, as usual the food arrived on time, wrapped completely and was hot. Just wish I liked it.

I found this place on Scoutmob and decided to go. It is in the same shopping center as a well known Velvet Room in Atlanta. The menu is pretty extensive with lots of options. I usually eat Indian food at Indian buffet restaurants so picking just one dish was hard. My husband and I decided on chicken tikki masala, dopiaza lamb, and garlic naan. The portions were large. The masala was creamy and my dopiaza was savory. It was a good mix. The dishes were pretty heavy too, so we were stuffed. The service was good. All the servers were really nice and answered all my questions. I am not sure I would go back without a Scoutmob though.
