Great little bakery next to Trader Joes. This gem is small in size but their pastries are amazing! Went in last week to order a king cake for Mardi Gras. And picked up a few pastries for my family. The red velvet cupcake was amazing it had a very authentic taste, which is so hard to find anymore. The caramel brownie was so flavorful and just the right amount of chocolate and caramel. I can assume that all of their cookie flavors are to die for. I had the double doozie and thumbprint cookies. All ‘A’s in my book! I will be trying the petite fours and king cake when I pick up my order next week. Update to come!

I lunch here at least bi-weekly. Love their chicken salad sandwich on freshest bread! There’s a reason they are the oldest family owned bakery in America.(I think 5 generations) Their main bakery is in Buckhead, with satellite store in Sandy Springs. I love people watching at both locations. It’s always a hit, never a miss.

Henri’s is kind of an Atlanta legend, but it feels like a shadow of its former self. I used to come here quite a bit in the 90’s and have recently started coming back because it’s convenient, but I’m already finding my interest waning fast. The feel of the bakery hasn’t changed. You walk in and smell confectionary goodness and see the smörgåsbord of delicious looking baked goods. But quickly, things devolve from there. The staff has been largely nonchalant, bordering on unwelcoming when I’ve come in. In some cases, I actually felt that I was inconveniencing them by coming in and placing an order. The baked goods range from mediocre to very good(think 2 stars to 4 stars). The shortbread is very dry, but the chocolate dipped walnut cookies are great! I don’t even need the chocolate. The walnut cookies are so robust. Definitely my favorite item they have. I got a turkey sandwich the other day to take with me. It was akin to a cold cut sandwich you would make at home: 2 slices of plain wheat, nice helping of turkey, Swiss, lettuce, mayo. I asked for pickle. Didn’t get it. The sandwich cost $ 6.79 I think and it was completely nothing. Seriously, save your money. The word disappointing doesn’t even cover it. I’ll still pop in for the occasional baked good, but otherwise, I’ve got no interest in Henri’s.

I’ve tried this bakery over 6 years of living in the area. The sandwiches gave me a stomach ache The pound cake gave me a stomach ache The black forest cake wedge tasted weirdly sour The bottled water was good though 10⁄10

I’ve gotten a few cakes here over the last couple of years. Wow, this place has really gone downhill in the past few months. Henri’s has been a staple of Atlanta bakeries for decades. Perhaps the original location in Buckhead is better, but the staff here has been so bad over the past few visits I’ve finally had enough of it. I went in twice last weekend to buy a special birthday cake for this coming weekend. First, I came in 10 min before closing and the employee told me they had already closed. When I explained that I just wanted to learn what flavors were offered and how they could decorate it, the employee told me to leave and come back another time! So I came back the next day around 2 in the afternoon to the same attitude, this time with no excuse. After not being able to tell me if they could customize a cake, she said to go on the website and I could order it there. Well, you can’t. The website only has basic information. So I called the next day, and(amazingly) received even worse service on the phone! As best I can tell, their cakes are still ok. However considering the 4 – 5 other bakeries within 2 – 3 miles with similar or better pricing, I highly recommend going elsewhere.

I cam with a friend who has been coming here for generations. She always gets either the Roast beef po boy $ 6.49 or the Turkey Po boy $ 6.49. These are pre made sandwiches that are put out each day. They are amazing! They all come with ham+ the selected meat+ may + mustard. They know how to put every flavor together to make them blend well on top of soft white fresh bread. I had my doubts but I was glad I tried it. They offer all sorts of cakes and pastries too. She tried a cookie and I got a round dot cookie. Honestly, they tasted ok– mostly too greasy and not very tasty. I expected more from a bakery but after reading most reviews I am not surprised. Apparently the quality of desserts has gone down. Overall I’d come back for the sandwich, in fact I am craving another right now. I’ll skip dessert next time which is oddly enough no longer their specialty.

I’ve been going to various Henri’s since childhood trips to ATL. I love the place. I do agree that thirty years ago the pastries were better… that said, I am grateful that the sandwiches remain unchanged… especially the pre-made ones that your can pick up w/turkey/roast beef, salami and a pickle.

Sandy Springs location needs oversight from owners. Spent over $ 30 on very dry sandwiches that were not made properly. Bread is very dry and unappealing. No crisp crust on their«French» bread. One would expect a bakery to produce a good French bread! Publix and Blimpy’s bread is much better. Their famous Cheese Wafers had no cayenne and had no flavor. I miss the old Henri’s. It seems that much has changed under new ownership. Do not recommend.

holy cow this shop has changed over the last few years. I went in 2 summers ago and had the best Iced Coffee in the history of iced coffee. I went out of my way to go back for a coffee and pastries with friends a year later and they just poured coffee over ice and handed it to me — i was very dissapointed. The baked goods and other items are still the same great quality you’d expect, but their staff is lacking.

I loved visiting the original location in Buckhead, so naturally I was thrilled when this location opened. Unfortunately my happiness was short-lived. Their sandwiches are great, but it’s very seldom that the customer service goes along with it. None of the people working the counter are overly friendly, in fact they act border-line irritated that you interrupted their day. Once I stopped to try to pick up breakfast before 7am, because the open light was on. When she told me it would be 15minutes because they were closed, I told her the open light was on. She flippantly waved at the delivery person, so my guess is that he turned it on. Needless to say I walked out without anything. When I finally did have a chance to try a biscuit for breakfast, it was dry and the eggs aren’t great. It wasn’t what I expected after eating the linch sandwiched. They’re known for their pastries and cakes, so we ordered one. All we wanted written on it was«Congratulations». They forgot the S and then added two weird blocks on the end of the word. The color of the frosting didnt match at all. We were embarrassed to even bring this cake out for the baby shower but of course had no choice at this point. Next time we’ll order from Publix.

We’ve been patronizing Henri’s for 30 years. Changes in ownership, I believe, have resulted in some consistency issues. As a result, they no longer get all of our bakery business. But here are the things I go for that typically don’t disappoint: *chocolate iced donuts(omg! They go fast…) *honey bun(Like the donut the batter has a bit of spice and is heaven. Nothing like your big name donut spots.) *birthday cake in any form(cup cake, sheet, or layer) *iced pound cake *plantation loaf *fresh rolls *danishes *any«salad» sandwich It’s worth a try. I hope one day the consistency returns to what it was back in the 80s, when my Mother first started patronizing them.

I’d stick with the big cookies. Henri’s bakery is a bit pricey for baked goods. FOOD: Flourless Chocolate — chocolate mush Chocolate brownie $ 1.39 for a small square — not worth it(you can buy a box of brownie mix for that much and taste just the same) Chinese cookie — tasteless Mexican wedding cookie — doesn’t melt in your mouth PB big cookie — ok Butterscotch big cookie — ok Thumbprint cookie — ok Maple cookie — ok

I have gone here many times for my Grandpa because he would not eat anything else but my personal opinion this is not a very good bakery at all. All of the cookies are hard and have been sitting there for weeks. The ladies in the Deli who make sandwiches dont even wear gloves half the time. Its not a clean place either. Im sure you can find something better somewhere else.

Henri’s is where I go when I’m in the mood to pretend that I can buy a few shortbread cookies, eat one in the car and save the others for later. Those bad boys don’t even make the drive back inside 285. I have plenty of will power… just not when it comes to their shortbread cookies. Yum!

So my boss ordered her sons birthday cake from here and it looked amazing and tasted great and i was looking for a birthday cake for my birthday and she suggested this place. I figure they are only good for fresh orders or day made cakes because i sampled their red velvet cupcakes and they tasted bland and like it had be there for weeks if i wasnt halfway down the street i would have returned it. And their cookie was so plastic it even smelled weird. Wont be returning.

Henri’s Bakery is an old Atlanta bakery with two locations: the original store in Buckhead and an OTP location on Roswell Rd. in Sandy Springs(near I-285). Henri’s is a bakery and café with salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Their sweets selection is rather extensive, with a wide assortment of cakes, breads, doughnuts, Danishes, pies, and French pastries. You can also grab lunch at the deli. I first learned about Henri’s through fellow Unilocaler Kevin C. He ordered a custom birthday cake. It was made to resemble a Japanese character. The resemblance was uncanny. It turned out so well that Min Y. followed suit and ordered a custom birthday cake of his own. It was equally impressive. Based on these two cakes, I’m convinced the bakers here are very skilled and talented. Note that Henri’s is not allowed to create custom cakes using trademarked properties. For example, you couldn’t ask them to bake a cake using The Simpsons characters. The cakes themselves tasted okay. The ears of one of the characters was made of nothing but frosting, so it was more for show than for eating. It looked great, though. Hence, if you need a custom cake, Henri’s seems to be one of the places to go.
