I shop in this JCPenney a few times a year, and I’m so glad it hasn’t closed. I’m a fairly conservative dresser(but not an old fart!), and JCPenney has the fairly conservative clothes I like. I’m a big fan of the Worthington line which has great pants that I can wear to work. The Worthington line has a «curvy fit» that actually fits me as a woman with more butt and less waist. They also carry jeans(St John’s Bay and Levi’s) that are not trendy, but are a more comfortable fit with less spandex. I also bought a classic trench coat here(Liz Claiborne) that I always get compliments on. I’m also a fan of their home goods, and I recently purchased several new sets of towels here. Like most department stores, JCPenney is always having sales, so it’s worth it to browse around the store if you have time. Also, I’ve ordered items online and had them shipped to this store with no problem with pickup. All of the employees I’ve encountered here have been polite and helpful. It’s not a large store, but I’ve never had a problem finding what I need. Unilocal 100 #6

WHAT A NICESTORE! This is a really nice store located in the Northlake Mall. It is very clean, well organized and staffed with helpful employees. I love the way this store is organized. After you past the jewelry/make-up section, the ladies accessories are off to the right, ponchos, wraps and scarves are together, coats are all in one section easily located along with additional clothing for women. At the rear of the store, you will find clothing for infants. Clothing for boys/men is off to your left and to the right, you will find options for girls. It is a very«easy to follow» floor plan and it makes sense. The employees were quick to greet me and offer their assistance.

I never shopped at JCP after the 1980’s, and now kind of feel like I may have missed out on something. This store is great! They have a ton of different styles for the kids and me. They also have a great«home» section too. One thing that I really like is all of the discounts offered. Oh, and that I can order stuff online and have it shipped for free to the store. With this being said, I have one not so good comment. Don’t risk getting your hair cut in the salon here. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt b/c I just needed 2 inches taken off. I was there for over 2 hours!!! No, I did not have it washed there. Clearly, the girl cutting my hair had no idea how to trim hair and give long layers. To make matters worse the manager of the salon was TOOBUSY showing off her brother’s facebook post. Really!!! You are a manager and are busy shoving your phone in the face of the person cutting my hair and talking all about your personal life? I was so happy to get out of the salon. My hair was butchered without good layers. What a mess! Now, to end on a good note… the Customer Service staff is so easy to work with and so kind! Thank you for making my life a little easier even though I hate walking by your salon.

I don’t think I’ve been in an JCPenny in ages, and unfortunately this visit this didn’t signal any feelings that I would be returning anytime soon. I found a few items online that showed at this location, so I took the drive to the store. I’d save the pictures to my phone, and found someone to assist me, she was able to direct me to the department where the items were. She was so helpful with those items, that I asked her where could I find some seersucker items. She looked at me plain as day and said. I’m not familiar with what that is. What??? I inquired if she was from the South, and she replied that she was. What is this world coming too? I pulled up some pictures online, and showed them to her, and she stated that she had not seen anything like that in the store. I went to the area, she directed me to find the other items. The saleslady in that area was pleasant and helpful in helping me find the items, and we both agreed that the pictures online made the items look more impressive than they actually did in person. Helpful staff, but you can tell that department stores of this type are not what the consumer desires any longer. 65 of 100

JCPenny at Northlake is still standing strong after all these years. I love shopping for my kids here especially when they have a sale. You have to check their circulars to see when the next sale will be!

Don’t judge me because I actually like this location of JCPenny! Sure it is in a crap mall, but it is pretty much one of the nice JCPenny locations that carries items you can’t find in other locations of JCPenny. That is speaking from the Men’s Clothing department there. The store itself is rather large, but kept very clean; and totally seems out of line with all the other stores in this mall. The same goes for the staff here as well, they are very nice and thoughtful to their customers. Not only is this JCPenny good for clothing, but they also have some pretty good furniture(just not what I like). Also they carry some inexpensive gift ideas too such as little toys for kids, anniversary gifts, and even saw a whoopee cushion there once.

Of all the crappy shops in Northlake Mall JCPenny is the best, even kind of out of place for such a sad little mall. Clean stores, stellar service with a smile, and decent basics for clothing. Kudos to the staff and management! The selection of furniture here was pretty basic and not at all interesting. Hip or cheap, pick one.

I’ve got a confession to make. JCPenney is the reason why I visit Northlake mall. I don’t know what it is about Penneys or where I found the desire to come here, but next to target, this may be one of my favorite chain department stores. I’ve never come away from this store complaining of unclean conditions, and they usually have items in stock. If you’re hungry, take the back entrance, since JCP shares an entrance with the food court, and there’s also an eye glasses station near that same entrance in JCP. I don’t know what else to say. I may not buy things everytime I walk in, but i do enjoy walking through.
