Picked up some ORGANIC produce at a local health food store. The place is old and very large. Most of the shelves are bare and looks as though at one time this shop has seen better days. The overall vibe was friendly and they had some music playing. I found the produce looked home grown but aged and on it’s way compostville. I didn’t care, for the price not bad. An older man greeted me by the register. When I had asked where the produce was from he mentioned having grown the carrots himself. He was sweet and we talked for a minute. I also found some dried herbs bundled for around $ 0.99 ea. Thyme, Lavender, Mint, and wilted garlic chives. I’m a big fan of health food stores, mom and pop shops, and organic supplies. I try to support as often as possible. I’d love for you support this shop because I’d like to see it stay open for many years.

imagine what the first whole foods market must have been like; moderate sized family owned market with hard to find healthy selections. well, that ‘s what life’s essentials market is. located in the swats, life’s features organic fruits and veges and a very impressive selection of loose herbs, essential oils, alternative toiletries(e.g., crystal deodorant, non-saccharin toothpaste, etc), and vitamins. they also have organic cereal grains as well as an impressive refrigerated and frozen section of healthy food items. and it is one of the few places in atlanta that you can buy chew sticks. so, if you are in or near the swats and don’t feel like making the trek to whole foods, life’s essentials is your best option.

Life Essentials is a health food store and market. They have organic meats, fruits, tofu and vegetables as well as nutritional and all natural non perishable goods. Life Essentials also has a vast selection of herbs, incense and oils. Herbs are set up like a buffet; you load your container or bag with them and they’re weighed at the register. While it’s no Whole Foods Market and looks like an older supermarket/bodega converted into a health food store, Life Essentials has some basic staples for decent prices.
