This horrible excuse for a restaurant in our neighborhood has finally closed. Let’s hope the new spot, a Spanish Tapas Bar, is not by the same rude, arrogant owner. We deserve better.

I am very delighted with the seafood crêpe… It’s a must have. It’s so good that I can’t seem to want to buy anything else.

Walked here for lunch today between rainstorms. The menu is small, but had great options. The place is nicely decorated & the side dining area has a garage door that opens to the sidewalk for covered somewhat patio type dining. The bar is huge & looked fully stocked, even a large dessert counter with delicious looking cakes. Since I was on my lunch break, I just grabbed a sandwich & salad quick. With the sandwiches, you get choice of a side. I opted for the bbq shrimp sandwich & Greek salad. The shrimp was cooked perfectly & meant to be like a New Orleans BBQ shrimp. It was delicious, I just wish the sauce itself was a little thicker, although this one was much healthier since not thickened with butter the way it is in Nola :) the salad was also very good. Everything tasted fresh. I wish I would’ve tried this place a month ago, as its one of the best priced places in the neighborhood & very tasty too!

This place could be great… it just seems like its perpetually new/getting started. I started coming here as place to get a late night drink with my husband since there aren’t a lot of places open late in this part of town. The owner really cares and has always been exceptionally nice to us; you can tell he really wants the place to succeed which makes me want it to as well. Decided to come for dinner since why not. The food was great, the atmosphere is very romantic and they did a good job of not ruining the vibe Café Intermezzo had before this place. Honestly the only thing missing is the people. You just feel the emptiness. However, to turn that negative into a positive, at least there’s a nice place to go with a large group at late notice?

I used to come here religiously when it was Café Intermezzo back in the day when I lived up the street in Buckhead. It was my favorite after date spot for dessert and coffee. I moved to midtown a few years ago and actually live above the new Café Intermezzo but have but have been woefully disappointed in the«new» Café. My wife was having lunch with a friend and requested I meet her here. I took a $ 5 Über from Midtown. I am acstatic to say that I am a new fan of Café M Rouge! The food and service was fabulous! I had the blackened salmon salad and my wife had the grilled salmon and they were both amazing! Her friend had the beet salad which I am told was equally fabulous! Our bartender, Xavier, was not only handsome but extremely helpful with the menu. We met the manager. The music was awesome to with Rat Pack classics, the food was fabulous and the ambiance & atmosphere was as I remember from the old days! We will be back!

Stopped by Café M Rouge yesterday to grab some brunch with a group of friends. I really didn’t know what to expect, as I had never heard of this restaurant and looked at the menu and some online reviews a few minutes before we were supposed to meet. Café M. Rouge has not been open very long(I think the server said four months) and when I walked in, the place was empty except for my party. The servers were all very considerate and prompt and our food came out within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the Monte Christo and a white chocolate cappuccino – it was okay, but not anything to write home about. There was a good amount of parking in the back parking lot off of Palisades Rd and a valet was available in the front of the restaurant. I don’t think that I would go out of my way to come back for the brunch menu, but would be interested in trying them out for lunch or dinner.

TL;DR This place has the worst service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. I have been to 30 different countries on multiple continents, and nowhere came close to these shenanigans. The fresh cooked tripe on a trashcan lid in Korea beat this place’s service, attentiveness, and situational awareness. I booked a reservation for 2 at 630 for Valentine’s Day this year at this place. I booked pretty late in the season so I was surprised that a 4 star place would still have openings, but was glad they did. They advertised a special valentine’s menu a the set price of $ 65 a plate. Seemed reasonable as it came with a rose, glass of champagne, and 4 course meal, plus who am I argue this late in the game. The place was only ¼−1/3 full when we arrived, so being overwhelmed was not an issue. It took 34 minutes before a human talked to us, and finally brought water(no ice), and then another 5 before champagne arrived and they took our completed meal card(seafood medley, tomato bisque, butternut squash ravioli, and a dessert to be chosen from a cart).Outside of the one table with the guy in a Chive Bill Murray shirt, the service was equally awful for the other tables. we watched as people repeatedly got up to complain. At the 1:26 mark the seafood medley arrived, which actually was pretty tasty, though I would have eaten shoe leather in chef boyardee sauce at that point and been satisfied were it not for the bill. About 20 minutes after that, our main course arrived. Again, it was pretty tasty, but I’m not sure the sauce on it wasn’t identical to the sauce on the appetizer. My palate has been destroyed by MREs, if it existed at all, so i’m not a fair judge in that department. It took another 25 or so to get a human interaction, and that was by wrangling in another waiter to bring our bill, since I think our waitress quit at somewhere around the 45 minute mark. He offered to bring us the soup post-meal as some sort of salty dessert, but this was only after he attempted to charge me for the two glasses of wine that I had bought and gotten myself from the bar. It took over two hours for us to finish this experience(and that was without the soups or dessert«cart»), and during that time we saw about at least 12 couples get up multiple times to complain about the lack of service and eventually leave. It became part of the show to watch the look and demeanor of people change from happy valentine’s day smiles to annoyance, then aggravation, disdain, laughter at the situation and then finally surrender to the absurdity of it all.

My girlfriend and I had a reservation here for Valentine’s Day. I chose this restaurant because a) it is new, b) it gets pretty good reviews on Unilocal, and c) because we were looking forward to the mussels appetizer and lamb entrée. I hope the food is good(what I saw on other tables didn’t look bad), because the service and the atmosphere are both terrible. The atmosphere: They sat us nearly shoulder-to-shoulder with other couples in a line of two-tops. We could have chimed in on our neighbors’ conversations, but there weren’t any. The place was nearly silent, so much so that it was uncomfortable. The menu had been trimmed down from their usual to a prix fixe, which I had expected — most places would be doing this on Valentine’s. But they removed all of the food we wanted to eat! They made it very obvious that they didn’t care about the food or their customers. They left little, 2″ x 4″ scantron-style sheets on the tables so that we could bubble in our starters, soups, and entrees, and they had plastic, diner-style numbers on the tables! This is not what I would expect from a place charging $ 65 each for dinner. The service: They brought us two glasses of champagne when we arrived, and, from then on, we never spoke to another employee there. Probably because our table didn’t have a number(honestly — the table next to us was number 9; we didn’t get a number at ours). Our neighbors were sat after us and had a server there within a few minutes to say that they were serving a fixed-price menu. A minute later, she came by to ask if they had their order cards ready. No mention of specials, of the food at all, or even her name. They made it very obvious that they were just trying to turn over as many tables as possible that night. After waiting on someone to come by for nearly half an hour and watching everyone else around us order, we quickly made reservations elsewhere, left $ 20 on the table for the champagne, and left. We will not go back.

Came here after dinner one night for drinks and dessert. The perfect place to unwind before calling it a night. The ambiance and relaxing environment was just what our little group needed. It had tons of potential and look forward to seeing what ideas the owners have in mind in the upcoming months.

Wonderful! Delicious food, good prices, chic décor, gracious staff, and warm ambiance! Definitely coming back again. My friend wanted to try two different cakes so they cut him half a slice of each and charged him for 1 slice. I ordered a Nutella peppermint hot chocolate and it was divine, as well as on the house!!! 10 stars!

This place is continually delicious. I had brunch here today and ordered an egg white omelette my way with mushroom spinach goat cheese and tomato. Amazing! The apple cheesecake was divine, honestly the best I’ve ever had. Ashley(bartender) is awesome and I love that she was my bartender last time as well. We had freshly baked macaroons were perfectly soft and amazing. We were brought a bottle of Deor –which is my favorite champagne!– and enjoyed a mimosa or two. Everything on the brunch menu was amazing! Just keeps gettin better n better!

Bloody Mary drinks to start were really tasty — had Ashley make them spicy for us with salt around the rim — bacon, cucumber, olives, and celery were the garnishes! Almost like a salad in a bowl. We had the mushroom crepes with chicken — in a delicate cream sauce — had the duck fat potatoes along with it. Really tasty! Good size portion — then we had the eggs baked in tomato pepper sauce with crostini for dipping — duck fat fries as well. Very good. Good coffee is served — and the cakes and pastries in the case look awesome. We had the chocolate truffle cake was good — more European in style — very nice! We will be back!

Stopped in here late tonight(a little after midnight) because my best friend wanted to get a little dessert to top off her Birthday. I saw this place was new, French(she loves French food and desserts) and right around the corner from my apartment so I decided it would be a great place to stop on the way home. We went in the back way and heard Sinatra playing so I already liked it because of that. We sat down at the bar to find out they had just shut down for the night– they are new and trying to figure out how late to stay open on certain days, which I totally understand so I said no problem and that I would come back another night. Just as we were about to leave the owner, Mattie, asked me what I was drinking. I said Gin and Diet Tonic and he made a exception and stayed open just for us(without knowing it was her B-day) so we had a private night cap and dessert with him and his family and staff, who were all amazingly friendly and accommodating. The drink was perfect and very responsibly priced($ 7), especially for West Side when you have places like Holeman and Finch, which is really great but can be pricy after a few. My best friend ordered the black forest cake, which she loved. I had a bite and it was phenomenal! They even put a candle on it and sang Happy Birthday to her, so sweet. :) After much debating I ordered the 5 nut tart, which came as a very generous portion topped with a little chocolate whipped cream/mousse and espresso beans, it was amazing. To top it all off, Mattie gave us each a glass of champagne in celebration. I will definitely be back to Moulin Rouge for drinks and desserts(I have to try every one in the case now!) and also to try their brunch(on Sat and Sun from 10am-3pm) and their every day food too! I loved the décor as well, very modern and inviting with a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

This Monday my fellow Unilocaler friend Thi and I went to this place for lunch and overall I think it’s a nice addition to the peachtree road. ‘Café Moulin Rouge Bar & Bistro’ is located at the ever crowded peachtree rd between 28th St NW& Palisades rd NE, right across from restaurants like Egg Harbor Café, R Thomas and Uncle Julios. The parking is in the back of the restaurant — if you coming from buford hwy &85, turn right on palisades rd and take first left into the parking lot. Don’t park at the Wendy’s next door — they seriously tow the car. From the parking lot, there will stairs leading to the back seating area of the restaurant(Tip — Follow the Red). Aside from having a long name, the restaurant is also seriously big. You will see two entry at the front — one with regular door and a garage door. The regular door will take you to the large section with bar at the center. And the garage takes you to other ‘Street of paris’ section — this isn’t any smaller either. And then there is a back closed patio with very long table for large parties. So I won’t be surprised if this place can accommodate close to 100 people at a time. So imagine our surprise to see the empty restaurant when we entered around noon. When we asked about it, the staff told us that they are intentionally not advertising the restaurant yet — they wanted to get everything setup completely before taking on the full capacity of the restaurant. And they also mentioned that they had just received alcohol license as well. The décor is bit of mish-mash between Paris, Morocco and America and so was the menu. Our lunch menu has usual suspects like soups, entrée salads, Specialty sandwiches, Croisson’wiches, Paninis and other entrees. We ordered the following. 1) Today’s soup(Salmon chowder) 2) Croque Monsieur 3) Roasted Lamb sandwich The soup was not too creamy and heavy like chowders we usually get at other place but I liked it. We did get some pieces of salmon in our soup but couldn’t smell or taste any salmon in it. It was not a bad soup. Anytime I see a croque Monsieur in a sandwich menu, you can bet I am ordering it — boy, I have eaten croque Monsieur at so many places. While the one served at Café M rouge wasn’t the best I have tasted, they didn’t disappoint me. They nailed bechamel and cheese on top. Only that the country bread they have used wasn’t the best tasting bread around. Each sandwich comes with a side, you can walk up to the next section to see pre-prepared sides on the display and choose one. I got grilled veggies with the sandwich. It was good — I would have loved it bit more crunchy but that’s no big deal. Roasted lamb sandwich — the roasted lamb itself was good but there wasn’t enough aioli in it, so it was kinda bit bland for my taste. It needs more flavors in the sandwich. We ordered it with Olive as side. Some olives were pitted and some were not. So be CAREFUL. Don’t break your teeth. we also liked presentation of our plates. They are open for dinner and brunch on weekends. Overall, I agree with my fellow Unilocaler’s review. This place has lot of potential but our food was lacking a bit of flavor. 3.5 stars.

Service, ambience deserve a solid 4 star. The waitress is friendly and helpful. There are multiple rooms with different layouts. I like the idea of a garage where patrons can see outside. There is also a patio in the back. I love the big mirrors that adorn the place. I tried several menu items and I would average the food to be a 3.5 star. The special soup, salmon chowder, was rich and delicious without being so thick. I could barely taste any salmon though. My lamb burger had slices of lamb that were not as flavorful as I had hoped. The bread with aioli may have been more flavorful. The croque monsieur was crispy and delicious. It was perfectly toasted. The texture was exquisite and the sandwich was flavorful. I really like the presentation of the dish. The plum garnish looked too delicious to not eat. Sure enough, the sweet taste did not disappoint! I’m looking forward to coming back, perhaps for brunch and dinner to give it another try!

These guys were so nice! My sister and I stopped in to get coffee between appointments on a Wednesday afternoon. The waiter was terrific. Then the owner came offer, insisted we have an appetizer as well, then gave us a tour of the restaurant. The Café is(was?) having a soft opening. They were open for lunch, dinner would start in a couple of weeks. They had just gotten their liquor license. The place is beautiful inside and on back terrace. I can just picture long spring and fall lunches on the terrace. And if the food is as nice as the owner, CMR will be a great addition to the Peachtree at Palisade scene. Note: There’s a parking lot around back. It’s the first driveway to the left off Palisades Rd.
