One of my favorite places to eat. If it’s a Friday or rush hour, call it in if you don’t have time to wait. Food is delicious, with healthy options and service is top notch.

I love their fish salad. their prices are very reasonable. Great location, being next door to the masjid. Takes a very long time to get my food so I usually call ahead.

Stopped by today for lunch on the way through Atlanta on the way to Charleston. My wife got the baked Tilapia, rice and collards and I got the fried Whiting with fries and hush puppies. Both came with a side salad. Both plates were cooked excellent. Seasoning was perfect. Servings were large so come hungry. I couldn’t finish mine. Fries are fresh potatoes cut up not frozen. These fries were as good as In and Out fries in California, which I consider the worlds best. I would definitely stop here again.

What a great dining experience! Total shocker because I had NO idea what to expect. The place is inside a wrecked strip mall, surrounded by giant pot holes, misplaced orange construction cones, and Muslim temples. I wasn’t sure if I was being welcomed or warned. After seeing some very nice ladies going in, who smiled nicely at me, I decided to follow along. Boy, was I glad I did! Nice, clean, pleasant surroundings inside. Super nice and attentive male server. I think his name may have been, Bobby. Sweet potato hush puppies and THATBUTTER were on POINT!!! French fries are perfectly seasoned and thin, wings are meaty and filling– just perfect! I was confused. They advertise free WiFi, do they want you to set up and stay, like a loungey space or order properly and eat like a restaurant? They do lots of «to go» orders, but it’s a very nice atmosphere to sit and have a nice meal in. The menu offers numerous options. Really NICE spot! I can’t wait to go back and surprise a date or friends! NOTE: You can dress in regular American attire(or not) to dine and feel at home here. No biggie. It’s a very«do you» spot!

I’m so surprised this place doesn’t have more reviews! I saw this place on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible and was visiting Atlanta from Minneapolis this past weekend and just knew I had to try it. I got the sweet potato hush puppies and sweet and spicy wings, both of which were awesome. The wings are great because they have so many different flavors to choose from. I also got the shrimp and grits which had just the right amount of spice to it. The only thing I disliked was that almost everything is served in paper trays. When I asked for a plate, I was just given another paper tray which are really difficult to eat out of. That being said, if I’m ever in Atlanta again I’d definitely come back.

I decided to pay Marie’s a visit for lunch after seeing numerous glowing reviews from Unilocal and Nextdoor. It’s nestled next to a few janky local businesses, and has what might possibly be the most run-down parking lot in Atlanta. Fortunately, once you enter the door, the shortcomings of their surroundings are quickly forgotten and are superseded by excellent service and reasonably priced, delicious food. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. You seat yourself, but everything else is handled by a server, including payment. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly. Another employee visited us mid-meal to ensure we were having a good experience. I received better service here than what I have received in many fine-dining restaurants. The menu has something for everyone. The southern staples are there, some with a twist. The sweet potato hushpuppies were recommended by our attentive server, and after the 1st bite, I could taste why. Marie’s Special Tea — another twist on a southern staple — was extremely flavorful and dangerously addictive. A variety of sandwiches and chicken dishes are available, ranging from $ 5 – 8. To go along with my hush puppies, I went with the chicken salad sandwich, which was priced nicely at $ 5. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and it was just the right size for a lunch portion. I will definitely be back. This area desperately needs more quality local businesses like this, and I am glad to give them my repeat business.

Today was my first visit and I hope to come back and try some more of their lunch items in the near future. I met up with a friend here on a late Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of options to pick my own table(you seat yourself). I was immediately greeted and given the time I needed to peruse the menu. I ordered the sweet jazzy wings with a side of greens and mac & cheese. My friend ordered fish with the same sides. I tried the fish as well but the chicken wings were definitely my favorite — it’s rare to find crispy wings that also have a delicious sauce(usually it makes it lose the«crisp»!). The sides were just what I wanted. I don’t know if I’ll allow myself to try anything else since I was so pleased with them. I also tried the peach cobbler with ice cream but it was nothing to write home about. I’d suggest stocking better quality ice cream. Staff was very welcoming and I even met the sweet owner. My friend and I are both new to Atlanta(originally from CA) & the owner took the time to share more about the neighborhood & history with us. They have a cute décor and casual ambiance after being featured on a Food Network show. I definitely recommend trying this out & bringing a friend!

This place is great! Since their complete renovation on Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible, the atmosphere is cosy, clean, and darn right delicious. My favorites include the Sweet Potato Hushpuppies and the Braised wings. The folks who run this place are friendly and always welcoming. I hosted a private event at Marie’s and it was unforgettable. They delivered a full service many-course dinner for 55 people. They can fit 75 in their newly renovated space. Sister Jawila has made Ummat Café the place to get great new american food that is halal!

This place deserves to be reviewed. We turned into the deserted parking lot to try this restaurant. Sat ourselves down and I ordered the baked tilapia. Can’t go wrong with this one. The fish was done just right. I’m particular about how fish is to be done, an extra minute on the grill or in the oven spoils the entire fish. But this one… flaky, tasty. It felt like I was eating cod. So good. Also opt for spinach. It’s stewed with a little curry powder. Goes superbly with the fish & basmati rice. My husband ordered the onion rings & pastrami sandwich. The onion rings where huge! So was the sandwich. If you must order both, be prepared to take home some. The owners were nice, the wait staff was also very attentive. We were told to avoid Friday afternoon around 3pm as you will not be able to get a table. Try after 5pm on Friday. Other days ok. Noted.
