Good atmosphere… edible food… issues: really slow service, in fact the $ 2.99 each glasses of tea my husband & I ordered were essentially gone before the food arrived and there wasn’t an offer for a refill until we were done with our long awaited meals. I ordered the baby kale Caesar salad & when the manager stopped by & asked how things were going, I asked why there wasn’t actually kale in my salad. He said, «it’s a blend» and walked away… I was speechless because it might have been a blend but it should have had at least one leaf of kale. Our experience was subpar at best & the staff did not care so, I definitely don’t recommend going there. Try one of the other many options in the area.

You have to try the special appetizer with the chips, it’s awesome ! We had burgers also, everything was really good. Our waitress was very friendly. Go to this place absolutely if you love good food.

Service was not unfriendly but left us for long stretches so that we spent long stretches thirsty, hungry, and then ready to leave but waiting around. It was super dark inside(might be some peoples thing– if so you could give it another star) — but outside was a gorgeous day and inside was dark with TVs flashing all over the place. The drink list was misleading– we purposely avoided the ‘bottles/cans’ section and ordered beers from the ‘local/craft’ section– they came in bottles anyway. Nothing wrong with the place per se, but just not a quality way to spend the 2 hours of your life it’ll take to get through.

As a Texas girl who is starting to get a bit homesick for food with a hispanic flare, my breakfast was just what I was looking for. I don’t know what sauce they put on it, but wow, it was good. Will I go back? oh I most definitely will. p. s. the service from the kitchen isn’t slow, but it isn’t fast either.

My daughter and I decided to have dinner here. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice, but the food. Not so much. If you’re looking for a burger and a beer this may be the place. But a meal that requires skill and technique this is not it. The photo for the shrimp and grits looked delicious! But the actual product was more like a frozen meal. The shrimp was cold and the grits cake was oddly rubbery. My daughter panini was under pressed and cold. For drinks and burger yes, anything else… go somewhere else.

I go here frequently because of its location relative to Emory. The food isn’t horrible per say, it’s just not great. And I can’t tell you how many times my order has been screwed up. It’s almost laughable at this point. My roommate and I went once and they were so slow, brought the wrong food, and then gave us both $ 25 dollars off our next meal. Came back the next week to treat my boyfriend and had the same experience. They didn’t give us a comp meal though, which is fine with me since I likely won’t be back.

Beer and wine selection is decent. If you’re going to snack, the Brie and trout dips are pretty good. If you’re eating a meal, just get the shrimp and grits — it’s the only thing worth paying for.

I came here for a Georgia State Alumni event. So I didn’t get the full experience. We had some shared appetizers and drinks. The Riesling was pretty delicious, I only had one glass of wine. What really impressed me were the kettle chips. There were bacon bits which I picked off but they were also covered in this sour creamy and oniony dip. It was amazing! I loved the crunch of the chips with that deep fried flavor and the coolness of the dip. The buffalo wings were reallly good! Crispy, spicy, and cooked all the way through. What more could you ask for? I’m not sure what kind of dipping sauce that was, it tasted like ranch with something added to it. However it was divine. I need to go back and try this place out and get the full experience. I’d definitely go back.

So I’ll start by explaining my 1 star. I live within two miles of Emory Pointe so it’s always preferred to come here instead of going somewhere else for dinner. Now I have no idea why but 8 out of times I get servers and managers who are incredibly slow to serve, not well trained and lack proper people skills.(I’m writing this review after having the 3rd consecutive bad experience here). The drinks weren’t made correctly, the food was wrong and it took 1.5 hours to get a cup of soup and a burger. So that’s that. On the flip side, there is a FANTASTIC server named Abby who works here. As sweet and as charming as can be(ask for her, if she’s working she’ll make sure to charm you out of your seat) with her politeness and willingness to serve you!

2.5÷5 Parking: You can park in the deck parking deck for free 3 hours before 5:00 and for 2 hours after 5:00. Service: Our waitress was very nice and friendly. I do think the service in general is a bit slow in terms of bringing out drinks and food though. Food and Drinks: –Ahi Tuna Poke Appetizer: This is an appetizer but I had this individually and it filled me up. I’ve been craving Ahi Tuna Poke so this really hit the spot. –Fries: The fries here are not crispy, but instead soft and limp overloaded with salt. –Blueberry Cocktail: About 70% of my drink was ice. The taste was great(albeit a little watered down), but if I was to be given so much ice I would’ve liked a full sized glass instead of a half glass. –Sangria: The wine glass of sangria is pretty good and has fruit in each glass served, but also watered down. My irk with this place is that the $ 10 drinks are watered down and the $$ food is mediocre at best. Definitely not a college budget friendly place despite its location and would probably only come here for proximity to campus.

This is a restaurant located in Emory Point on the interior side of the complex next to fresh to order. The restaurant is very dim inside and the floors were super slippery since it had been raining and customers have been walking around in their wet shoes. My mom and I ordered the infamous fish tacos and a baby kale Caesar’s salad. The service was great, they split both dishes for us without us asking! The only thing I did not like about the food was that it was on the salty side. The salad had too much dressing(ask for dressing on the side if prefer less dressing on your salads!) and the sauce in the tacos was too much. Last time I came here I remember getting a burger and it was pretty good, not a bad place to dine if you’re in the area and want some American food.

The food here is thoughtful and generous. Maybe a touch less salt is needed all the way around, but you won’t be disappointed. Strong recommend for the chicken and waffle at brunch. Service was not especially swift or attentive, seating for our large group was easy. Good spot in general. Would give a 3.5 overall.

Yay, Marlow’s brought back their turkey burger. It’s a bit different, but it’s still really tasty! I’ve tried a lot of what’s on their menu since we lived really close to a Marlow’s for a while and they were open fairly late, but the turkey burger or the black bean burgers were my go to. The black bean burger is a decent vegetarian option, and Marlow’s standard fries are some of my favorite. Most of their sandwich options aren’t my cup of tea, but you can’t really go too wrong with their appetizers, salads, and burger options. My only real hang up that’s across the chain is the failure they serve as a pickle with the burgers. A long time ago I believe they had store bought pickle spears, but suddenly adopted a new recipe and started serving this un-pickled squishy cucumbers that are mostly salt. They’re really salty. I don’t know where this is a pickle, but they’re wasting a lot of cucumbers is an assumption. Everyone at my table disliked them and we were piling them up on top of each other. They’re just… not good… Otherwise, no complaints. Will probably be back more now that the turkey burgers back. Haha.

I am from Chicago and know my food, when I travel I’m usually a little skeptical when I order a burger. But the Tavern Burger with their homemade bacon jam with their fresh veggie toppings was one of the greatest burgers I have ever eaten. I’m only here for a few days and I’ll be going back to Marlows Tavern. Additionally the service and staff very nice and friendly, the ambiance is very nice not like a tavern, has more of a feel of a high end restaurant with a great outdoor patio.

I went to lunch with a friend and ordered the Shrimp Po Boy from a special menu. It was packed full with lightly battered shrimp and was very tasty. I selected the Jalapeño Corn«grits» cake as my side item which was just okay. I had to eat most of the Po Boy Sandwich with a fork instead of eating it like a traditional sandwich since it was packed full of ingredients. For dessert I ordered the chocolate brownie topped with pecans in a caramel type sweet sauce and vanilla ice cream. It was delicious.

Been there many times. Cutting to the chase. It’s a chain bar. Think TGIFridays with no flair. It’s usually a last minute lazy call for us since we live up the road. Food is ok, but tries to be more fancy then it really is. Usually we do enjoy it there, but what drove me to write a review was the horrible lack of service tonight. We went in and were seated, no server. One showed up at the table next to us and had a very detailed conversation about the menu and her boyfriend’s eating habits. When she came back the second time to them and we’ve yet to get a greeting or water we left. 15 minutes in and nothing, who knew how long it would have taken us tonight to get food. Again, food is good but not worth waiting that amount of time on.

I decided to being my friend who’s studying abroad at Emory to Marlow’s for dinner since she wanted to explore Emory Point. We were seated in the patio area which was actually very warm due to the heating system. It almost started to get hot after a while but wasn’t too bothersome. We ordered the killer calamari for appetizer, she got the lettuce wrap with grits and I ordered the fish tacos with fried okra. The sweet chili sauce for the calamari was on point but the calamari itself was not as crispy as expected. However, the sauce definitely made up for it. Friend said she liked the lettuce wrap and the grits. I really enjoyed my fish tacos. Usually not a fish fan but the ones served here were quite delicious. And the okra! I’d say the highlight of my dinner was the side fried okras. I’d say the ambience here is somewhat between casual and formal(mainly due to the lighting). Noise level gets pretty high indoors but that wasn’t an issue for us since we sat outside.

Basing this review only on the dish I got — but DONOT order the stuffed french toast, which sounded delicious by the description but left much to be desired. For some reason, a layer of tempura surrounded the entire thing. What is already a decadent meal made me feel worse after eating it because it just felt greasy. You could barely taste the sweetness of the bananas or caramel, of which there was little. I knew I wasn’t the only one who felt this way when I looked at the plates of the 2 other people who ordered it and saw they were half uneaten. Service, décor, etc was fine so I will be fair and give an extra star but by far, worst brunch I’ve ever had, and it’s pretty hard to mess up brunch.

This is the second Marlow’s Tavern location I have visited. I have been twice– once for lunch and another time for dinner. Have been seated quickly both times. I have tried two different items: Tavern Burger and Black & Blue Steak Salad. I think Marlow’s burgers are pretty good considering the scope of burgers here in Atlanta. Not at the top, but pretty darn good. My friend tried the lettuce burger wrap and was disappointed with the utility(the burger is slippery against the lettuce). I think the concept is good for those that want to cut back on carbs or have other dietary concerns. To me– a burger isn’t a burger without the bun. I think I actually find the Black & Blue Steak Salad to be more enjoyable than the burger. Mmmm… I am drooling just thinking about it. It’s not the healthiest of salad options but it is great for when I am not in the mood for a burger. One thing I didn’t like about this place is that there are no outlets anywhere for customers to use if they are dining. Odd thing, I know. I had to charge my phone and there was nothing. The waitress and host worked really hard to find me a convenient one. I ended up having to put my phone in a corner and try to watch out for it form afar. In a cellphone world like today, just something to consider. Service was good both times. During our dinner visit, I had a store coupon to use. We were just shy of the minimum(maybe like a dollar), but the waitress didn’t give us any flack and let us use it.
