Great service, good food! Will definitely be back! The truffle Mac n cheese was a hit out of the park! I’m a southern boy I know good Mac n cheese and this was by far my favorite! Shhh! But don’t tell my grandma.

CALLBEFOREYOUGO! THEYMAYHAVECRUMMYLIVEMUSICPLAYING! :( Let me start this review by stating that I’m a really big fan of Meehan’s pub. I really like the attention to detail each location has cultivated to give you an authentic feel of a little spot in Ireland. After going to Dublin and spending time on the emerald Isle, I feel I’ve got a sense for what an Irish Pub should look and feel like. However, here is my issue with the Sandy Springs location of Meehan’s. Last night I took my girl out for pints. When we got there they had a live two-man band playing Santana and Beetles covers from 10pm on. My first issue is that if you’re in an Irish bar, then play some BLOODYIRISH pub songs. 70’s Blues Rock and Beatles make my stomach turn. My next issue is there is no reason why you should have the volume so loud that you can’t even hear your mates talking without having to scream over some wanker crooning out a half ass cover of Black Magic Woman. Sorry Meehan’s of Sandy Springs, I’ll stick to the Vinings location from now on.

I’ve never been to the location, but I order in from Grub Hub and everything is delicious and well prepared. I think I could even just eat their sides. Everything I’ve ever had here is awesome!(I usually go to the Atlantic station location)

/TL;DR A decent spot to meet up and chat. Somehow, it wasn’t disruptively loud in there. Decent all around. Hard to find if you’re facing the wrong direction of the strip mall. /ATMOSPHERE Think Irish pub. Okay, done. /FOOD Had the fish tacos and asked for the sauce on the side. They accommodated, separating everything, including the queso. :) It was good. I’d have it again. /SERVICE I don’t remember having to wait very long for anything so it worked out pretty well. Read comment above about my tacos. That was nice. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.

Generally a decent place but falls down big time today. Sloppy service for sure. Not a spot if you want a lunch in a reasonable time. Next time around, with a large group, my experience was tremendous. The food was served hot and the attentiveness of the server was great. I really appreciated the extra effort she seemed to give. I love the buffalo tender wrap and that they serve organic chicken. The food here is definitely a notch above any pub around.

The typical Irish pub. The farmburger was awesome! I came on a random weekend day so it wasn’t packed. They had live music around 7:30/8 pm. I sat the bar and service was good. My drinks wee good. This was my first time attending. I would come again if I was in the area, but my favorite gastropub is still in brookhaven towne. It has a more expansive menu and beers on draft and combination beer drinks.

I’m here to balance out some of the less relevant opinions on this page. I’ve been frequenting this location for many years with a sample size much great than n=1(which is more than a few other reviewers can say based on their comments). This is beyond solid as a Sandy Springs option for food, drink, and sports viewing, wrapped in the now familiar Meehans wrapper of Northern Isles’ charm. The staff is incredibly warm — and effective. Call me crazy, but those complaining about a lack of ‘comp’ for poor performance suggest to this person — who’s very familiar with the business operation and staff — that these one-off patrons lacked the tact or communication skills to press their issues before slinking off to their caves and succumbing to the temptations of a quick trigger finger and/or medication(which may also be a causal source for said frustrations) rather than sound logic and a healthy level of confidence. You know, IMHO.

First time stopped for lunch and not impressed with the quality of our order, Rueben Sandwich. pretty dry. I did like my sweet potato fries, nicely crispy.

We ordered food from Meehans through the EAT24 app. Our salad showed up not looking too fresh. Our salmon was so raw we could not eat it and the onions were big. The salads were supposed to be entrée portions, but the head chef took it upon himself to give us side portion. One good thing about the experience was Phil the manager in charge. He was accommodating and stated that his head chef had done the wrong thing, I would try the restaurant again based on all of the good reviews and the managers concern and care.

(2.25 stars) Reviewing a restaurant takes into account many factors, and while the food is paramount, service, ambiance, price value and other considerations are a part of the equation. While a truly stellar restaurant will manage to deliver on all cylinders, controversy reigns when the disparity is as profound as it was last Thursday evening at Meehan’s. Also true is that even the best of restaurants may have an off-night, but unless a «bad night discount» or comps are offered, it is all fair game. Such was the case at Meehan’s Public House. By the time our meals were ordered and served, they were«okay»(more to follow). The experience of getting to that point was, however, agonizing. Meehan’s was the venue for the final meal of our vacation. We arrived at about 6:30 to a dining room which had several open two-top tables, and a lot of noise. The restaurant was nice in appearance, in a British pub vibe. Unfortunately, the only table for five was crowded into a backroom corner. Roughly twenty five overage frat boys(and a few girls), each trying hard to shout over each other, and obviously inebriated beyond the point of further bar service(they were served, nonetheless) «shared» the room. Almost ten minutes passed before we were recognized by the first of three servers(Kellie), and provided menus. Both the surrounding walls and our heads were reverberating from the noise levels at that stage, and it only got worse. I ordered the corned beef Reuben, while other family members sampled the fish and chips, lamb burger and venison burger(both mid-rare). To their credit, the quality of the corned beef was good enough to be convincing in a Manhattan deli; this is truly rare. The fish and chips were described as «alright,» although the portion was quite small. Each of the burgers clearly evidenced being parked under a heat lamp while awaiting server pickup long enough to have lost all pinkness. Overcooking alone would not have resulted in as significant loss of meat juices as was seen on the accompanying buns. For an eatery to offer either lamb or venison product, responsibility must be taken to serve straight from the grill; this isn’t an option. These dishes were the victims of severe service failures. Complaining to our server(s) or returning the overcooked proteins would have been futile for two reasons:(a) they were nowhere to be found, and(b) we wouldn’t have been heard over the shouting jackasses at the next table. So bad was the service that after an inordinate wait, we had to walk to the cashier’s station to request our check, then again to have our bill paid. It was rather obvious that the servers didn’t want to venture into this backroom any more than we wished to be there. Meehan’s has true potential, and decent food. Last Thursday, however, their service was an epic«crash and burn.» I almost never leave a tip of less than 20%, but here I felt that a 10% tip was being overly generous. At least 1.25 Unilocal stars were lost to the abysmal service we received.

My guy and I went for a late dinner last night. Very cool rustic setting. Tasty food –he inhaled fish and chips lol and I got fish tacos w/fried pickles. Both service and food were great. Due to the weather, power went out in the area. Everyone stayed calm and service continued with cell phone lights. Enjoyed it, will definitely return.

I’ve never had a bad experience here or a bad meal! Thanks to the chef and great servers, Meehan’s in Sandy Springs is always a real treat. Thank you to the chef specifically for adding the BBQ chicken sliders and the Pork Wings — WOWZAS.

We came to Meehan’s Public House on the Fourth of July, partially because most other brunch places were closed. Being new to Sandy Springs my boyfriend and I were not aware of the hot spots to visit, we were tired of driving around, and Meehan’s had a perfectly rustic exterior and sweet outdoor seating areas. Inside was no different. It’s a warm setting with some great beers on tap– the first thing my boyfriend looks for! We got Bloody Mary’s– which were spectacular. Refreshing, cool tomato with a nice bite– and spicy salted rim glasses. Really hit the spot. Eggs Benedict were served with a savory Irish ham on one of the best prepared English muffins I have ever had. The grits with Gouda and bacon are the way to go– I don’t even like grits that much but I made the nice bartender, Justin, there leave them behind to snack slowly on as I finished my drink. Perfect way to celebrate the fourth.

I recently came here for a Unilocal CMYE event. It was a good venue and I had a good time mingling, nibbling, and imbibing. Ambiance: I’m always a sucker for rooftop patios. Plus plus in my book. Meehan’s has several locations. This one is located in a plaza chock full of restaurants and shops in Sandy Springs. Service: The service was quick and I was amazed they remembered my name/card for my tab with such a big group. Since I was here for a private event on a Monday evening, the service was probably not typical, but they did a good job of ensuring everyone was fed and taken care of. Food: The food is not what I’d come here for, although there is nothing really to complain about. It’s standard pub food. We had a tuna appetizer, mini burgers, fries, and roasted red pepper dip with veggies to sample. Next time I come back I would want to try more of the Irish fare since that is the concept of the pub. I would definitely say this place’s main attraction is the rooftop patio/bar environment rather than the dining.

Good neighborhood spot for Irish favorites and decent beer selection. Worn around the edges but the service is quick and the food is good. Meehan’s offers good burgers, bangers and mash and shepherds pie. They also have a great upstairs deck which is an ideal spot to enjoy the weather.

Yep! This is my joint!!! LOVELOVELOVE this place! Why? It’s not your typical Irish pub! Meehans cares about the quality of it’s food as well as their patrons. Ok my favorite dishes are the tuna app, chicken nachos, and the short rib. I’m super excited to go there on the 11th!!! I know they won’t disappoint!

Sorry to throw off the bell curve of positive reviews, but I think the folks at Meehan’s must have been having an off-day when I visited yesterday. I’ve never been in the place before, but my friends have. So when we were finished shopping for bridal gowns at nearby Bridals by Lori, we picked Meehan’s for a debriefing session(dress shopping *really* makes you want a drink, y’all.) I had a Moscow Mule, which was great. No complaints there. I tried the other girls’ drinks, and they were all really tasty, too. My problem was with the food. We had tuna bites, which could only be described as «eh.» And homemade potato chips, which were burnt and nasty. We also had pretzels – the only app worth eating. My real beef: The bench my dad was sitting on was not properly secured. He was the only patron sitting on it, so when he scooted too far to the left side of the seat, both he and the bench collapsed and fell into the depths of the sub floor, which looked dirty and disgusting. To clarify: My Dad’s not a big guy, so this is not a «user error» situation. This is a neglectful restaurant situation. Service was kinda crummy, too. The individual waiters were all professional enough. .. when they were actually at our table. We were at Meehan’s for about 2 hours, and I think we saw a server approximately 3 times. It took so long to get a check that we could have easily dined and dashed a million times over … if that’s how we rolled.

First off we walked in the joint at 10:19pm. I wasn’t expecting too much to begin with: however the kitchen was open till 11pm. We ordered the Truffles Mac and Cheese with Lobster along with the Meatloaf and mash potatoes and I have to say it was exceptional. Unfortunately when I ordered my dessert at 11:05 I was told kitchen was closed — come on man — give me a break! That’s why they got 4 stars vs 5. Other than that– we’ve eaten there lots of times and it’s a great place to go for a late night meal.

When you get here, ask for Dominic. He is the man. Dom set me up with a really stellar Lamb Stew, and then very politely stayed out of my way as I got online and did a little work.(And he still kept my glass full.) And if Steve is in the house tell him I said hi. Steve is the chef(and sometimes he’s on the floor). Steve was fulfilling some managerial duties when I was there. He’s a very cool fellow. If I wasn’t getting some work done, I feel like I could happily hang out with either of these fellows. As I said, I had the Guinness Lamb Stew. Savory in all the right ways, and served with a couple of pieces of thick-cut soda bread. Just delicious. Totally hit the spot. Meehan’s is surreally quiet around the 3pm hour. The lunch rush is gone and the dinner crowd is still at work. The last time I was here, the place was slammed. Even then, they had no problem serving our alumni group. The crab-artichoke dip is a clear winner for such gatherings. One of these days I’ll come back for the Traditional Irish Breakfast. Holler if you’re coming with.
