I contacted Mimi J over a month ago to schedule a trial makeup session for my wedding. We talked via phone, and she sent me an email conformation with the date, time, and location details. I was super excited about the trial session! I looked online at her portfolio, and gathered lots of information about possible looks, etc.
Well, on the day of my appointment, I get to the place and no one is there. I was a little early, but still found it strange that she wasn’t there yet. I waited with one of my bridesmaids, who came with me to the appointment. Well, after a few minutes, I decide to call her to make sure I was I the right location. No answer. So, we wait a little longer, and I call again. Still no answer. Finally, in the third call, she picks up and says she was called into work and did not have my contact information to cancel the appointment!
First…she emailed me the confirmation. So, if you are in the service industry, I feel like it’s important to keep all contact information on hand. I had hers…
Second…she was called into work!!! I’m not understanding that. Does that mean that there’s a chance, on the actual day of your wedding, that she could be called into work? Ummmm, that’s ridiculous. Granted – this was a trial appointment, but at the same time, it’s still an appointment that I was going to PAY for. Trial sessions aren’t free.
All this to say… I wouldn’t book her for weddings. She’s not reliable and clearly isn’t organized. I wouldn’t want to be stressed about makeup on my wedding day.

OMG, I’m so happy to find MiMi J on Unilocal!I can say unequivocally MiMi is the most talented make-​up artist I have ever done business with. Mimi did my make-​up for my 40th birthday and I can’t begin to tell you what an exceptional job she did. I looked into the mirror when she finished and couldn’t believe the hottie I saw staring back at me :) She truly transformed me and my husband is still singing her praises!
