What I liked: Chocolate croissant, cheap coffee and honey plum tea – they were all very good, no complaints. What I disliked: service, lack of outlets and lack of heat. When my friend asked if there were any outlets multiple times, the lady at the counter repeatedly said she will provide him with one. She later brought an extension cord, not that we were expecting her to bring an outlet. We found only one place to sit with an outlet, which is absurd since it is a café where people like to sit and use their computers. It’s also pretty cold – so cold my friend and I needed to bring a blanket inside to keep us warm. It’s 28 degrees outside and there’s snow on the ground – some heat would be nice.

This place is the absolute WORST. It’s gone completely downhill since its early heyday. I ordered a cake from them recently because I feel like they were no longer getting much traction due to the competition on Buford Hwy. So I wanted to support them since they were one of the original Korean bakeries. I had an ABSOLUTELYTERRIBLE experience. I ordered a cake on Dec. 9th, to be picked up on the 12th. On Dec. 10th, they called me to confirm pick-up. The problem was that they had no idea who I was. They called and addressed me by the wrong name and asked me to confirm the wrong order. I actually no longer needed the cake but didn’t want to cancel and just pay them for it. But when they had no idea who they were calling, it annoyed me and I cancelled the order as they didn’t make the cake yet. Then I asked if I could come by for a refund since I prepaid. The next day, I showed up to get my money back. I prepaid so I figured it should be easy enough to give me back $ 30. The woman didn’t speak much English so we were having a hard time understanding each other. She told me to come back at 3pm. It was 1pm at the time. I told her I can’t come back in two hours just to get $ 30 and asked if it was possible for her to call someone. She calls an English-speaking worker on the phone and handed the phone to me to explain. When I got on the phone, the worker addressed me by the wrong name again and asked if I was there to pick up three cakes. I told her no, I was there to collect my refund and had to explain the whole situation. She then says«Ok, please give the phone back to my boss(woman at counter).» I did, thinking that the worker would explain the situation and I could be on my way. I’ve now been at this place for 30 mins. The boss then talks on the phone for a bit, hung up, then walked away — leaving me to just stand there, confused. She didn’t explain anything. After about two minutes, I spoke up. She then told me to wait another minute for her to find my ticket, then finally refunded me — after 45 minutes. Today, I got a call from them! Asking me if I was Travis Lee and if I would be picking up my cake on Dec. 31st. Then when I explained to the person on the other line how I was not the person they were looking for, and that maybe they need to be more organized because the same thing had happened to me two weeks prior, the caller hung up on me! TL;DR: Clearly, there is a reason why Mozart is now a sore spot on BuHi and not the shining star it once was.

Love the cleanliness and the bakeries. First time having shave ice with everything. It has to take at least 3 people to eat it, but well worth the money.

I have to be honest, I’m holding them to the same esteem as Tree Story in Duluth. Same concept, same treats, but different in taste. Atmosphere — super clean. You can lick the floors, including the bathroom. Service — ehhhhhhh, experienced better. The owner helped me and while she wan’t rude, she wasn’t warm and gracious either. Seemed annoyed when I asked a question and didn’t really acknowledged that I had complimented her on the décor. Food — slightly disappointing. Again, I was expecting tree story like deliciousness but this was far from it. Treats were dry, bland in flavor, and had a weird texture I’ve never experienced from an Asian bakery.

This is where you go to get total silence and plenty of seating along with old people. The place is clean and well maintained. They have open and closed off seating and everything is spaced out. My guess is that their bread selection is nowhere as varied as any of the other bakeries in the area. I was a little disappointed but they can still do well with what they have. The drinks were about the same price with some of the hot drinks not being worth $ 4. I’ve also heard their WiFi is dead slow but I didn’t connect to it so I can’t comment on that. The worker was friendly. I think she was in training and the older lady(the owner possibly?) was pretty silent. They have a couple of TVs airing Korean dramas. For pastries go elsewhere if you want a wider selection. If you want general pastries with lots of space then go here.

Unfriendly service, didn’t take American express. The bread was stale like it was made 2 days ago. Not a good place to study the music was so loud.

After frequenting here several times I’ve become very dissatisfied with their product and service. Service is something you can control. Service is easily changed. Their service is spotty. Rude looks, huffy attitudes, spanning a six month period. I’ve come back yet again today for a warm latte on a cold day. What she gave me was not a latte. The staff person working did not seem sure that the store even offered lattes, and what she made me was indistinguishable between a cup of brown, bitter sludge, and a latte. I normally would let this go and drink it, but after six months of consistently bad service, I find it necessary to reach out to a manager. On the bright side, the place is VERY physically appealing, very spotlessly clean, and the rolls and pastries are very good. The drinks have never been halfway decent, but the cakes and pastries always make up for it along with the atmosphere.

After frequenting this location of Mozart Bakery the past few years, I realized I’ve never checked in or reviewed this bakery. Mozart Bakery is one of the first Korean bakeries I’ve ever been to. The quiet café is a little dim but calm. It’s almost always empty when I come in to get a coffee or a bread. Their cakes are always a semi-sweet alternative to the sugary American cakes you find in grocery stores(not dissing on Publix bakery, though). I came in to grab a latte and maybe a bread or two. I ended up with a whole loaf of their day old bread(50% off!) and a Thai tea latte. The bread is fragrant from the butter. And after toasting it, it’s pretty freaking delicious. The Thai tea latte disappointingly had no latte art and tasted strongly of milk. Note there is a $ 5 card minimum and they don’t accept Amex. Prices are pretty steep but comparable with its Korean bakery counterparts on Buford Highway(White Windmill and Paris Baguette). If you’re looking for a quiet place to study or do work, this is the place to be. The individual booth style tables makes for a private place to jam things out or have an intimate conversation. I don’t think I would go out of my way to come to Mozart, but I wouldn’t mind meeting a friend here for coffee or dessert!

The castella was moist and perfect. My son loves this stuff so I make a special trip to these specialty bakery stores. The place had nice booths where people sat with their laptops. Nice and quiet. Some of the bakery items looked a little over baked and was dark brown instead of a golden brown. I avoided those, but the red bean filling bread and the cake was great.

Wow, I tried their shaved ice with fruit. I have never had it before and I have to say it was awesome. I will definitely will be back. If you have never had it before let me describe it a bit for you. So it is shaved ice and on top of that they put a scoop of ice cream, sweet red bean paste, bits of(what I think was) sweet rice cake, lots of fruit and a sprinkle of fruity pebbles on top. When you eat it mix it all together and then dig in. It tastes like a really good bowl of fruity pebbles. A+

Presentation is everything, here! They make«works of art», hence the name«Mozzart». Maybe that’s the catch, because the taste is underwhelming, in comparison. The Espresso is weak, and the staff does not clearly alert their patrons, when their order’s are ready… It’s very overpriced, unless you came for pictures. If you want BOTH quality, APPEARANCE, ANDPRICE… it’s not far away. Check out the«White Wind Mill» Bakery: not even 2 minutes up the road…

Brrrr, on this adventurous day where I am trying new things, this was the saddest part. — OVERLYSWEETANDVERYBASICCAKES. Mango mousse was horrible. The mocha cake was just so basic, clearly bag mix. Overly sweet. — PEACHTEA? This is not peach tea. It’s berry color, it does not taste like peach and is ridiculously sweet. — DOESNOTMATCHUPTOSWEETHUTORPARISBAGUETTE. If you’ve been to either, you will be very disappointed. It just does not compare unfortunately. The ambiance is decent, but that’s about all it has going for it. If they think that drowning everything in sugar will conceal the poor quality of ingredients, they are very wrong. Ps. Parking is easy and there is wifi, although I can’t attest to the speed of it. So it has that going for it and the only reason I am not giving one star.

Mozart is clean, and the staff is friendly, but the Oreo cake I had was flat. It wasn’t particularly moist, and it was unimpressive. The Americano, however, was better than mediocre.

I absolutely love red velvet cake and their version was pretty good. I also suggest getting a bubble tea. I had a mixed berry that was tasty but not the best I’d ever had. The bakery seemed very clean which is always important to me when I comes to baked goods. There are so many options on Buford hwy that I need to try. I would definitely recommend this place for at least one experience and see how it stacks up against the others in the area. GREAT for people watching while you drink your tea.

Overall, Mozart Bakery is good. I’ve been to other locations too but the Doraville location is my favorite. I recently went back to get a chocolate cake for my SIL’s birthday. It was a surprise. I love Korean cakes and the decoration styles, plus they give you a candle! A few of my favorite goodies there are the red bean bun, sweet bun, custard bun, and macarons. The café is really cozy and relax. You could study there, free Wi-Fi! The staff is always friendly when I go. Sometimes there will be some discounted goodies.

I’ve now been to Mozart Bakery several times in the last year(I’ll say 10+ visits) and why it’s taken me this long to write a review, I’m not sure, but I figured it was finally time to express how much I enjoy this bakery. I mostly have come here on the weekends, but I find that Sunday is my favorite day to come. Sundays are nice & quiet, and I’m able to easily find a place to sit and study/do homework. I’ve been coming more frequently lately just for that purpose. I like that they have semi-private tables sectioned off which is my preferred place to sit. I usually enjoy a nice Milk Black Tea and some Soboro Bread while I study. I have also been here on a Saturday and it’s a little more busy on that day of the week, at least the times I’ve come, and I prefer a more quiet setting, so I don’t think I’ll come on Saturdays unless it’s just to come in and grab some goodies and then head back out. Trying to study on a Saturday didn’t prove to be very effective, for me at least. I’ve also used Mozart Bakery as a meeting place to meet new language exchange friends on a weekday evening and it was the perfect place to get to know someone new without a lot of loud distraction. So far, I’ve enjoyed an assortment of(breads) and its good enough to hold me over until I can get back to Korea. My favorite drinks on the menu are the Milk Black Tea and Honey Citron Tea. Hands down tho, my favorite item on the menu its the(red beans with shaved ice). I will definitely continue to come here, in fact, I’m writing this review while at Mozart. PS. Forgot to mention, the bathroom has always been clean during my visits and the staff always friendly. ++

Perspective: ASIANBAKERY A bakery with large seating area. They have a selection of pastries and other baked delights. We came here specifically for the Korean shaved ice(Patbingsu) which disappointed. The serving size was smaller than what we’ve had at other places — price the same though. The fruits weren’t sweet enough.

Mozart is an old school Korean bakery and café that has been in Buford Hwy for a long time. They sell your typical Korean desserts, pastries, cakes, drinks, and so on. It looks clean inside. It looks like a popular hangout place for both old and young Koreans. I have had many things here, and they all tasted good. Since I’m a green tea lover, one of my favorite snack items are the green tea macaroons. I love the sweet, green tea flavor they have. We have gotten their birthday cakes before. And like all, good, Asian birthday cakes, they are delicious. They are all fluffy and full of good flavor. They don’t seem boring as the American birthday cakes. Of course, unless you get it someplace fancy like Piece of Cake. But you can say Mozart is a fancy bakery. Overall, I think they provide fresh dessert items. They don’t have smoothies though like certain boba tea shops. But they’re a bakery, not a boba tea shop. So expect more baked goods type stuff instead of drinks. I give it about 3.75 stars.
