I haven’t been here in years even though it’s walking distance from my house. We went last night because after the Orpheus brew tour just down the street we figured why drive. Service was really terrific and it’s obvious the management keeps close watch. Our food was all good, drinks where perfect from one of the prettiest bars in Atlanta.

I LOVE this place! The calamari is to die for. Cocktails are spot on and the steak frites are delicious. Also the lighting in the main room, along with the unusual lights in the bathroom make it all the more enjoyable. Just a heads up if you want to celebrate a popular holiday there, make sure the make reservations early because they fill up quickly.

Fair disclosure. I am a long time One Midtown fan. It’s a special place to me. I love the space with the ambient, early industrial lighting, warehouse/loft feel, unisex bathrooms with a proper lounge out front and the always friendly Bob giving a warm welcome. I love the wine selections that you can get for good prices by the glass(a lot of variety.) I love having the kitchen open and I love being able to see the park on those rare days that I come when the sun is still up. I USED to love the menu, but they’ve killed the best items. One Midtown used to have a menu that had several *must have* items. These were recently killed in a menu revamp. Let’s have a moment of silence for those that we’ve lost: — goat cheese french toast — griddled bread with the lightness of angle food cake in a mushroom cream sauce. Delicious, but GONE! — Crispy okra — this stuff was amazing! Crispy okra with a little heat to it. I’d order this and a beer before anything else! — Duck breast — this was one of the best in Atlanta; they seared it nicely and left it rare if asked. It had a cherry fruit compote that worked great with a mineral driven pinot noir. — Quail — seems to me they had a quail on the menu regularly. No more, but it was also great. — Rabbit — they also had a nice rabbit main that was one of my frequent go to. — Scallops — these were excellent; listed as a main but often split at my table as an app Now we’re left with pizza, calamari, beet salad, beef burger, trout… you get the idea, like every other restaurant in Atlanta. It’s a sad day for me, because One killed my favorite dishes, those that were unique and brought me back. Now 90% of One’s dishes are like everything else offered at ATL restaurants, hence the three stars. Service is still great. Atmosphere is still great. I’ll still go two to four times a year, but I won’t be a regular. There’s just not enough to bring me back. I’m surprised by this, because when Woodfire Grill closed after all that turnover in the kitchen, I heard that One picked up Matt, so I was really hoping we’d see innovation from Woodfire brought to One. Instead, we see a menu that was taken from being unique to being just another restaurant, not a bad one. Just another one. This place use to be THEONE.

Came here for dinner before going to see the holiday lights at the Botanical Gardens. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and caring. The restaurant feels cozy and exciting at the same time. First of all, best bread since moving to Georgia! The Brussels sprouts appetizer was amazing. The main courses were delicious and the kit kat dessert was heavenly. Can’t wait to go back!

Short version: Good service, good food, good wine, so-so cocktails, expect to pay for it. Long version: Went here on a Monday night and the place was pretty quiet. This can be a mixed blessing as sometimes when servers have little to do, service suffers. Happily this was not the case here, and service was quick, attentive without being overbearing, and friendly. The food was good — the brussel sprouts appetizer is worthy of the most dedicated carnivore. The wine list was fun and diverse — lots of interesting choices, and a really good selection by the glass. The house cocktail list was relatively short, maybe a half dozen or so — and the two that we tried were decent… but I will be making my selection from the wine list next time. The cocktails were just a bit bland, and a bit sweet. Cardinal sins? No, just not amazing. The cocktails alone were not reason enough to deduct a star… but the price of the food was. The food is good, but after signing the bill I left feeling like I should have been able to get the same quality of food for less.

Very interesting décor. Looks like a turn of the century warehouse that’s been rehab’d to a restaurant. Excellent service and we were there at rush hour on Friday night. Very subtle spices make for ordinary steak and chicken to pop to excellent. Octopus I had before but here it was a whole piece and tasted like an octopus steak, very interesting and good. Wine selection is very broad. French Italian California Spain and not the standard wholesale wines. Free valet makes it easy because this is a residential neighborhood on the edge of a park. Oh and the park view is relaxing. The bill for two, including wine was $ 155.

The Braised Short Rib with mushroom risotto at ONE Midtown Kitchen was absolutely delicious! The meat was well cooked, tender, the risotto was full of flavor. It was delicious. Although I was there for a comp four course meal– I will definitely be going back. The ambiance was very sexy. Service was great.

I did not think the food quality lived up to its price. My table orders the Brussels-very salty but the best thing we did order, margherita pizza-more like a cheese pizza because it was just a salty pizza with burnt cheese and sauce, nothing fresh about it like a typical marg. pizza, and the chicken roulade-tasteless. Also ordered the purple rain drink-too much ice and watered down, and a $ 19 drink that was basically pineapple and vodka drink… still wondering why it was so much. Not to mention our server was very rude! I’m awarding two stars for décor and that’s about it.

I used to go here once a month, religiously for ONE specific item. They had the BEST Calamari in the world! Apparently, they went and hired a new chef recently who changed the menu up a little, and totally screwed up the Calamari. Now the chef makes their Calamari like a standard hole-in-the-wall bar type of appetizer. Just sad. IF they ever go back to the old version, I will go back. If not, I’ll never step foot back there again.

Everything we ordered from the Curry Cauliflower, Fried Okra and hummus to the Chicken Thighs and the Wrecked Fish, was deeelish. Was surprised that the Cauliflower dish was cold, but the flavor profile was still very tasty. The«gravy» on the chicken dish was awesome, in fact one person at our table used the remaining piece of their fresh bread to wipe the dish clean! P. S. All the staff, from valet to the greeter to our waitress, were delightful.

Came here to celebrate a birthday during Midtown Restaurant Week. Only one of us ended up ordering from their restaurant week menu, which you can find on their regular menu, but here are some of the dishes we had: App: Wood Grilled Octopus: Server recommended this, but wish we didn’t get it. It was cold and salty. Field Green Salad: Serving size is a little smaller than I thought, but I enjoyed all the flavors(not your typical green salad for sure) Entrees: Steak Frites– It’s not anything new in the culinary world. Typical meat and potatoes type dish, but it’s soooo good! Give me a perfectly cooked medium steak and some parmesan fries and I’m one happy girl. Plus that chimichurri sauce goes with everything… even the duck and trout! North Carolina Trout– Had a couple bites and it was cooked and seasoned well. This is a perfect entrée for someone looking to eat a lighter meal(minus the grits of course!) Confit Duck Leg– The birthday girl enjoyed her dish, but did mention it was a little salty. Dessert: Sorbet: It was practically melted by the time it got to our table. Although it was refreshing, felt like I was drinking soup rather than eating ice cream. Kit Kat bar: The texture is dense and flavor is rich. Very chocolate-y and sweet– great for a chocolate addict like me Purple Rain: Solid drink. Good amount of liquor and it looked pretty :-p Overall, food was mediocre and prices were on the expensive side. I enjoyed the service and ambiance more than the food. Great place for date night or small groups(it’s loud, but not too loud where you can’t hear anything!)

I went here recently on a Friday night and we were greeted by name at the door – talk about a warm welcome! I loved the ambiance and décor; the exposed brick walls and industrial lighting was very welcoming. The restaurant wasn’t overly packed, so the noise level was just right. We started the meal with an Indian-inspired cauliflower dish, which was amazing. For dinner, we chose the swordfish(perfect amount of food, Asian-inspired, light and delicious), and the steak frites(awesome parmesan fries). Dessert was the kit kat bar served with vanilla ice cream. I’m not sure if it tastes exactly like a kit kat bar, but it was great. Great date spot!

Really like this spot. The atmosphere and décor is great. very trendy and a little upscale. We came with a group of 10 people on a Friday night. Had reservations and were seated promptly. Our waiter was very patient with our large group and had good recommendations. He also attempted to split the bill on separate checks even though a number of us had split small plates. Props to him. The food was very good. Maybe a little overpriced for the quantity of food you are getting but that’s what happens at $$$ restaurants I suppose. The goat cheese french toast was AMAZING. I split the salmon with a friend and it was cooked well and served with veggies. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we felt very well taken care of!

Food was okay! The salmon lacked seasoning and left a lot to be desired. The service was decent. The waitress made a point to inform us that the beef tartar was not cooked. I am 100% positive that everyone in my party was aware prior to ordering. Overall, we will not be returning and will choose to spend our money and time at other Atlanta restaurants that have more flavorful food and better customer care. On a side note, the ambiance and drink selection were great for the price.

I came in skeptical. I wasn’t extremely excited about the menu, but I was proved wrong. We started with the calamari, it was on point. Then we split our entrees. I got the Steak and Fries while my wife got the home made pasta with shrimp. Loved it all. For dessert we ordered the blueberry bread pudding, loved every bite. And on top of that our server was awesome. We started to order items on a couple of occasions and she stopped us and told us they aren’t that good and pointed us towards better options. I really appreciated that and love to hear what the server’s opinions are when ordering. She definitely helped steer us towards a great meal.

I took my boyfriend for his birthday last year after having many people recommend it. The atmosphere was absolutely amazing, very romantic. The food was incredible. We started with the calamari which was also recommended to us, it was unlike any calamari we’ve ever had, succulent, julienne cut, and amazing. I then had the hangar steak and frites while my boyfriend had the porkchop, again awesome. Since it was his birthday we had a free Kit Kat dessert. It tasted great and I don’t even like sweets. Overall our experience, server, and food were great. We have recommended it over and over again and plan to return again soon.

I came in about a week ago with friends for dinner. I love the hospitality! The host, the bartender, the waiter, everyone was super friendly & helpful. The atmosphere was lively with mood lighting & music. The food on the other hand fell WAY under my expectations, considering the rave reviews online & the price of the menu. Just from the reviews, I was so excited about trying this place but I was disappointed with my entrée. I am not sure if they have specialties or if fish would have been a better choice but I ordered the roast chicken. The chicken breast was moist with a crispier skin but came with a bland pea purée & unseasoned veggies on the side. It was okay at best. The rest of the group ordered burgers(which they concurred was good), steak frites(decent but have had better), & calamari for an appetizer. The calamari was by FAR the highlight of our meal. Our waiter highly recommended it. I always order the calamari wherever I go as an app & this was one of the best ones I’ve had! Overall, I MAY come back to try a different item or just to order than calamari but not any time soon.

Here’s another restaurant in the«I’m not sure why it took me so long to visit» category. Maybe it’s because I have loved Two Urban Licks for so long, that I couldn’t imagine One Midtown Kitchen being just as good or better. However, One has that fantastic view as well, with interesting décor, delicious food and good service. The areas where I give One a slight edge over Two: 1) Atmosphere…One has that neighborly, but edgy vibe. Great for dates or groups. 2) Crowd…less«touristy”/trend seeking, fun crowd(we had a nice chat with the table next to us :-). My husband and I came for date night on a Friday and it was wonderful! Parking is valet and the host was gracious to give us our preferred table, which we briefly sat at the bar until it was ready. Per the recommendation of our server, we started with the Calamari, which is prepared with a sweet/spicy sauce and cylindrical in shape… not your usual calamari, but very tender and tasty. Also, the Griddled Goat Cheese Toast is terrific for bread and mushroom lovers alike. For my entrée, I had the Seafood Pan Roast which was fabulous! It comes with grilled bread and this aioli that is «to die for», I promise. The only problem we had is that we didn’t save room for dessert… next time. Happy eating!

What a wonderful treat and surprise this Friday when my boyfriend took me here for dinner. It’s hard to snag a table and reservation as this place is happening and trendy and full of people. I wouldn’t exactly say it’s romantic but certainly for a special occasion and lots of fun. Maybe my eyes were deceiving me but I certainly noticed lots of gay gentlemen(which I love, by the way). Our server was attentive and I thought the prices were very reasonable. My steak frites were superb and a nice portion. My boyfriend, sadly, did not have the same luck with his short rib, which honestly tasted like bland boiled meat rather than a flavorful dish. Our meatball appetizer was very good but came out a bit cold. Nevertheless I liked this place and will be returning with a bigger group, especially to take advantage of their bottomless wine. Cheers!
