Delicious dinner with friendly staff. I was here for a work dinner, and our waitress was very attentive for the entire time(2.5 hours). The calamari was very good to start, and I had a mojito as well with the appetizers. The main course was salmon, and I opt for the mash potatoes and green beans instead of salad– salmon had this melt in your mouth quality and combined with the butter sauce, it was amazing. The only thing a little off was the crème brûlée– the center was more burnt than the brown color it’s suppose to have. Overall great meal, very nice interior, definitely check it out if you’re nearby.

We went for Sunday brunch in the summer and I must admit I expected more. The atmosphere led us to believe the food would be delicious southern gourmet but in the end it was very lackluster. I can remember what I ate just about everywhere that I really liked but I can’t remember much besides the dry biscuits at Paces & Vine. I’m sure the rest of the food outside of brunch must be better but due to the high price tag we’ve opted not to try it for fear of walking out unsatisfied with a huge bill. I would say it’s worth a try to form your own opinion though!

We came here as an alternative to Another Broken Egg as it was packed on New Year’s Day morning. We arrived just after the restaurant had opened and were really charmed by the interior/ambience of the place. The interior is really relaxing and nice. I was in a party of 5 and we were dressed casually(as one does the morning after an evening out) but we were all at least wearing jeans or a similar level of clothing – read: not dressed like a bunch of scrubs. From the beginning I wasn’t overly impressed with the service. Our waitress spent a lot of time socializing/talking to other staff in the restaurant after taking our drink orders and it clearly wasn’t related to that. It took well over 5 minutes for our coffees to come out and probably another 5 for one of my party’s hot tea and another’s juice(which was understandable because it was fresh, but 10 minutes does still seem a bit long). When we were trying to order, our waitress seemed to not quite be on top of things – didn’t know what kind of tea they carried and didn’t really wait around for us to ask questions about any of the menu items. After we ordered, we heard nothing from her for a good 20 minutes. A table of 6 that came in and was seated after us received their food before us and our waitress returned to their table three separate times before she came back to ours. We ordered 3 omelets, a burger and a turkey club sandwich – none of which I believe take particularly long to make but took a long time to come out of the kitchen. I believe because we didn’t look like a certain type of customer that clearly frequents the establishment, we were semi ignored during our meal which I really didn’t appreciate. They were clearly favoring certain tables over others and I felt like that was really inappropriate – it basically felt like they didn’t care what our experience was like because they didn’t care if we came back or not. I don’t think that’s a great attitude to have towards paying customers who are charged $ 4 for a cup of coffee. The burger and the sandwich were fine – burger was a little bare bones and could have used some extra condiments, etc. The omelets were made at varying degrees of acceptableness – mine was undercooked and runny in the middle which was a bit unappetizing while my friend’s was covered in grease which had leaked all over the plate by the time it got to us. Once we finished our meal our waitress took quite a while splitting our checks(apparently it was a new system, so that was understandable), but when she brought them to us we were ready to pay immediately and she didn’t pick them up for another 5 minutes. Our total dining time was well over 90 minutes. I just don’t think it was busy enough to warrant all the waiting we had to do, especially considering I could see what our waitress was up to 85% of the time. We were definitely made to feel like we weren’t a priority and that they didn’t want our business and that’s fine because I won’t be returning – I don’t need to spend $ 40 on brunch to be treated like a bottom tier customer.

This place is difficult to judge. I like the location and the physical space, but the quality of the food and service leave something to be desired. To start, Paces & Vine is part of a cute development in north Vinings. There is seating inside, on the patio, and at the bar. I visited with my girlfriend and her sister on a Sunday for brunch. We decided to sit at the bar since it was less crowded. The interior of Paces & Vine is pleasant and charming. The bar has a nice arrangement of drinks. There are televisions, but they are relatively tucked away at the corners. I’m not a big TV person in my bars or restaurants, but if you’re going to have them, this is the way to go. The three of us each ordered different items. I don’t care for brunch so I opted for a burger and fries. They were cooked as expected, but the portions were small for the amount of money charged. On the whole, it was unremarkable. I also asked for a Coke, but the machine was broken and it took a long time to get one. My girlfriend ordered eggs and other brunch fare. Again, it was acceptable, but not worth the cost. The ambiance is not strong enough to justify the prices, either. The staff was fairly attentive, but the food took *forever* to come out. The place wasn’t that busy, so I’m not sure what the hold up was. It was at least 45 minutes to an hour for what was some of the most basic food on the menu. Overall, I will probably not be back to Paces & Vine. It did the minimum to remain acceptable, and that’s not good enough at a premium price point.

Entirely forgettable. Service was really friendly, though the descriptions of the dishes didn’t match up with the food, and the pacing was a bit slow. Calamari was very average, with what I guess was siracha mayo on the side, not very inventive. Octopus came in an oddly under-done mess of white beans, with very little flavor to the octopus itself. Not someplace I’d go out of my way to return to.

I went in today with the expectation of good food and service. Unfortunately I received neither today. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in, the only good thing that happened. 10 to 15 mins later and not one waiter introduced themselves or offered service. The restaurant wasn’t packed. There was an abundance of staff mingling, laughing and serving others. We left and will not be back.

Great service, environment, & food. I ordered the croissant with ham with home fries. Simple but amazing taste. Our server was attentive and friendly. I will be returning to try their lunch & dinner menu.

What a nice little find. I coach cheerleading in Vinings and this was a convenient spot to meet my sister for dinner while she was in town on business. They have a seasonal menu and the seating is great! We opted to be outside in this great Fall weather. Our server was friendly and timely, checking in on us often. One thing I didn’t like was how pushy she was about their check in social media promotion. We could’ve done without the hassle. The food and drink made up for this by far. I enjoyed the low carb burger with green beans while my sister had steak and asparagus. The meat was too good. Felt like we were at a 5 star restaurant! The patio was awesome. I definitely want to come back. Perfect for date night or a during the week pick me up

Great place brought to you from the creators of Murphy’s in Virginia Highlands. Great patio and the menu is similar to Murphy’s high standards. I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

This place is for sure a lunch place. I’ve been here a few times for dinner and it was okay, but during lunch, I really liked everything… so 3.5 for me. Parking — Parking is plentiful, but sheesh, it gets busy during peak lunch/dinner times. I’ve had to look around for one a few times. But somehow, you’ll get one! Patience is key. Space — Awesome happy hour area. And a cool set for indoor and outdoor seating. My company had a semi lunch outing here a few weeks ago and everything looked so much better than the 1st time I came here. Service — The first few times I came here, was a total miss… but the past 2x have been good. Maybe the manager finally put forward some things that should have been addressed during opening month(s). Food — Calamari as an app for around 4 people is a good choice. Theirs is crispy and not too greasy. The sauce included was awesome. Gave the calamari a nice twist. I wouldn’t mind getting this again if I have folks with me. Chicken Salad Sandwich — I honestly love Chicken Salads in general; I probably eat it twice a week. Paces and Vines’ version was good. I like the croissant touch. Done really well. It’s a fancier look, but overall, your typical sandwich. Mac N Cheese — I prefer non creamy Mac N Cheese so I liked mine here. I added some hot sauce to add some flavor though. Tasted like cardboard without it :/

First visit, solid showing, hope to visit again soon and up my stars. This visit was brunch. Great service. Had the corned beef hash, served with a horseradish cream sauce. Very good. Hubby had the Eggs Benedict San Francisco… served with spinach and over corn muffins. Both of us didn’t love this, would rather have the original. The corn muffins were on the sweet side.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile now, as I used to love Garrison’s! We went with a few friends on a Saturday night and were seated almost immediately with our reservation. Our waiter wasn’t what you would expect a waiter to be like at a place like Paces and Vine. He didn’t introduce himself, didn’t give recommendations, and was overall«bland», if you ask me. I had the raspberry fizz drink to start, and it looked like a strawberry milkshake. It was just so so. We started off with calamari and the artisan cheeses for an appetizer and both were delicious. I thought the sauce that accompanied the calamari was outstanding. I ordered the watermelon salad and the tomato gazpacho soup for my meal and wasn’t overly thrilled with either. They weren’t bad, but just average. My husband ordered the brisket, and I took a bite of it and the mashed potatoes. I can say that my few bites of his were phenomenal! I ordered the bonzo for dessert and really enjoyed it. To top off our«bland» waiter, I looked around at the end of our meal and realized that all the tables around us had baskets of bread. We were never given or offered bread of any sort. Since we were paying and getting ready to leave, I didn’t bring it up. Overall, I wasn’t thrilled enough with dinner to want to return with all the good restaurants around. I would give it a go for Sunday brunch because I’ve heard good things about that.

They changed my favorite dish! So sad. French toast was good, but not worth the calories now. They do offer a very generous portion of fruit for $ 6 and a couple of other nice items. Gorgeous location, but the menu is a bit limited. Staff also very courteous.

Had brunch here over the weekend. I honestly hadn’t even heard of the place until I pulled up and saw it was the old Garrison’s. It was about 11am on a Saturday and not at all busy(which is a plus for me). We were seated right away. Staff was super friendly. From the host stand to the servers. I started with a mimosa. Maybe it’s because I haven’t imbibed in 12 days, but it was so refreshing. So cold and the perfect ratio of champs and oj. So good I had two! My brunch was the croque monsieur. It was really tasty. I had it with fries. My companion had a waffle and chicken sausage. I did taste the sausage. It had a little bite and was good(if you like chicken sausage). Personally, if it ain’t pork I could skip it, but I’m sure lot of people order it. All in all, it was a great brunch experience. I would definitely return.

One word, Delicious. That is all I need to say about this place. However, I figure I will give a bit more details about my experience. I came to Paces and Vine for the first time with a large group of 20 people. There was a room in the back that was private. It had lots of room and could likely fit another 10 people… just guessing though. The service was fantastic. The waiters were wonderful and very attentive. I had 4 different appetizers, the crab salad, kale salad, tuna tartar, and a pâté/mushroom baguette. My favorites by far were the tuna and the pâté. I am not a huge fan of either of those items but they made them so flavorful and amazing, it was hard not to lick the plates. Both the crab and kale salads were good, but the kale salad had a lot of ginger, which if you didn’t know that is what it was, would be deceptive as it looks like candied orange peel… not the same, oops. I ordered the Enchanted Trout as a suggestion from the waitress. It was very tender and had a crispy skin which was very nice. I tried some of the Roasted Springer Mountain Chicken and it was amazing. I normally do not like chicken very much but theirs was extremely juicy and the potatoes were light and fluffy. We tried a few different desserts as well. I had the apple cobler, sticky toffee pudding, and the crème brûlée. I really liked the cobbler and brulee. The cobbler had a very crunchy top(which is a good thing for cobbler) and had a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on the top. It was nice and hot which complimented the ice cream very well. The crème brûlée was so good. It had the perfect crunchy top and creamy inside. I didn’t think too much of the toffee pudding, but I was told that I ate it wrong as I didn’t have it with ice cream. It just didn’t seem as good as the other two desserts. Overall, will definitely go back. They had a great selection of foods and drinks and an amazing patio which would be fantastic on nice summer nights!

We made reservations for 7 and they only had it down for 6, so there was some table confusion in the beginning. It took some time to get the order in. I ordered the soup of the day which was a corn potato soup. It was very good. My parents got the tuna tartar, which I tried, and it was good too. For my meal, I got the shrimp scampi. They recently changed part of it on the menu, so precious Unilocal pictures didn’t match up to the current dish. This one had asparagus, but I asked to change it to kale. It was pretty good. A little salty but overall tasty.

This is the first stop of my New Year’s Resolution for 2015: Try a New Restaurant Each Week!(Well, technically it’s the second, but I had the flu on New Year’s Day when I tried the first, so it’s not fair to judge that place.) I ordered take-out so I can’t really speak too much of ambiance/service/etc. The bar area where I waited for my pick-up was really pretty, though. I ordered the Tuscan Kale Salad and a side of the Tomato Grits. I’ll start with the salad. I was a little disappointed in the toppings-to-kale ratio, but otherwise it was very tasty. The cheese is from a local sheep farm and it was stellar. Next time, I’ll order just that cheese. The other highlight was the ginger vinaigrette dressing. I was nervous ordering this because I often fine raw kale too bitter, but the ginger flavor gave it a nice, complimentary balance that was really rather good. The local radish was another nice touch. The entire salad was a whole heaping pile of kale, the aforementioned local cheese and radish, and the dressing. With so few ingredients(albeit delicious and complimentary ingredients), hopefully, my disappointment in the quantity is understandable. The side of grits = phenom! Creamy and delicious, the pellets(that’s probably not the technical term) were larger than I’m used to for grits but it didn’t stop it from tasting divine. There was a hint of andouille sausage in the taste but I didn’t see any in it or listed in the ingredients, so it could have been a mind trick. I’m a vegetarian so I probably should have asked before ordering, but I didn’t, so we’ll count this as a don’t ask, don’t tell situation.

Great but not Murphy’s. Paces & Wine is a great addition to the Vinings neighborhood especially since the only breakfast/brunch option was pretty much Another Broken egg. So in that sense at least there are options now for brunch places. About the place, it’s very trendy with sleek décor only adding more light to its location and big windows. Food; anyone who has been to Murphy’s will see the similar tones but sadly here’s what I feel they lacked. Either be completely different or be exactly the same.

I had such high hopes for this place. They did a wonderful job updating the interior and exterior from the dark Garrison’s days. Sadly, the chic décor was the highlight of my meal. I started off my lunch with an order of the grilled artichokes. These were probably the second best thing about the place — behind the décor. There were four grilled artichokes that came in the order. We received an empty plate to put our artichoke leaves after eating the fleshy part. The dip that came with the order was a bit too tart for my liking. I also don’t think that it was worth the $ 12 price tag. I’ve had better at Houston’s. I ordered the ham and cheese panini for my entrée. Our server asked if I wanted a salad or fries with my sandwich. I requested fries. My panini arrived with a salad. It took over 10 minutes before I was able to see the server to ask him to bring me fries instead of the salad. By that time, I had already consumed all of my puny sandwich. The poor thing was so tiny that I could have eaten it in about 6 bites total. And I take pretty small bites. $ 12 for the sandwich. That price is insane for what you get. It’s probably about a $ 6 sandwich. I’m really not one to complain about portion sizes when compared to the price of the food. The prices that this place charges for the items served is ridiculous. I left hungry after paying $ 12 for an appetizer and $ 12 for a sandwich and fries(plus tax and tip!). Another gripe that I have is that the service was awful. My glass of water was empty pretty much the entire time we were sitting there. The glasses are small so that means, Mr. Server, that you will need to stop by frequently to refill my glass. You cannot disappear for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. A lunch during the business week should not take an hour and 15 minutes from start to finish.

Boy you can tell this place is new. They were not firing on all cylinders. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Club. When it came out, it looked nice. But the fries and sandwich were plated on this tiny cutting board. The sandwich was a monster. There was no way to eat this cleanly. The minute I picked it up, the basil mayo and other liquids started to pour down. I couldn’t catch it on the plate because my plate was very small. So I got all these sandwich blood all over me. I didn’t know how to eat the sandwich. I tried cutting it, but the bread was too hard to cut through with my knife. Also, trying to cut through the sandwich squeezed the sandwich more, which caused the juices to pour out more. Like I said, it came on a tiny cutting board; so I was making a big mess. My suggestion? Put that thing on a big plate, not a tiny one. When I set my messy sandwich down, I would like to put it on a dry section of the plate. Since I didn’t have that option, the bottom bread started to fall apart because of the juices. Overall, the sandwich was all right. It wasn’t any better than what I can get at Panera. Because of its messiness, it’s not something you would get at a business lunch, a date, or at any time, really. The sandwich looked great on paper, but it had poor execution. I would recommend them cutting the sandwich in half for us in the kitchen. Maybe that would make the sandwich easier to eat. Oh yeah, I looked over at Tanya C.‘s sandwich. She ordered the Ham and Cheese Panini. It was the opposite of my sandwich. It was pressed so much it looked like a microwaved, frozen pizza. After my server gave us our items, he was never to be seen again. Their service seemed slow. I saw a bunch of staff in the restaurant. I also didn’t see that many people eating. So I was wondering, why were they so slow? Were they still training my server in the back? I wanted some ketchup with my fries. We had to wait like 15 minutes for the server to come back so we can ask for some ketchup and other condiments. It wasn’t worth the wait. I didn’t like their homemade ketchup. It’s probably because my experience was already soured by then. Also, our sandwiches came out like 20 minutes after our appetizer. Why did it take that long? I mean, it’s «just» a sandwich. We’re not creating a risotto from scratch here. The bright side? I got to try grilled artichokes for the first time thanks to Tanya C. Other than that, I wasn’t a fan of this place. I would wait a few weeks to see if they iron things out. Maybe it’ll be a decent place to go after that.
