Yeah it’s a kiosk-style Starbucks. While I’m happy to have this available, especially just prior to being seated at the great AMC upstairs, the attitude of the barristas and staff leave much to be desired. Really, this is still a mall location — nothing to be proud of much and service should still count. It gets very busy — I tend to stand off a bit and wait for the line to drop before walking up. The drinks are otherwise fine.

This Starbucks is so slow! Similar to the Starbucks at Lenox, this Starbucks is a kiosk in the middle of Phipps Plaza. I appreciate the layout and design of this Starbucks much more, and the line doesn’t go «out the door» like other mall Starbucks usually are. I suppose Phipps isn’t your usual shopping«mall,» either. While the lines tend to wind around and around at other Starbucks kiosks, this queue was mild, so I didn’t feel bad letting my coworkers wait on me while I ordered my afternoon espresso. Wanting to try something different, I ordered the Holiday Spice Flat White latte. Yeah, definitely not my favorite drink(aka I’m never ordering that again). I love cloves in my beer and cinnamon in any dessert, but that was just not a good taste in my mouth. The people in front of me took their time choosing a drink. Frustrating, since people do actually work around here… I can’t be standing around at Starbucks all day. Once I made it back to my coworkers with my drink in hand, I was a little ashamed to have made them wait so long. If I’m ever at Phipps and in desperate need of coffee, I wouldn’t hesitate to stop here. That is, if there isn’t already a small line of people.

This is the Starbucks inside Phipps Plaza, so it’s not crowded like the Starbucks at Lenox Mall. Service is all right, but they sometimes don’t have a good selection of tasty treats. You have more options here than at Lenox Mall, i.e., Nordstorm’s eBar.

I am hesitant to write a bad review because I am forced to come here a lot, but unfortunately it would be difficult to write a positive one. I have been(and reviewed) Starbucks all across the US, but this is the first that I cannot return to. There are two simple reasons: my drink never tastes great and it is ridiculously slow. Very slow. V.e.r.y. S.l.o.w. I have been on 10 occasions. My drink has been messed up each time. I order the exact same thing all over the country: An iced tall caramel macchiato with extra caramel drizzle. It tastes almost the exact same everywhere. But here. Not the same. Not close. One time they were out of caramel sauce.(Where do they do that at?) Other times they would not put enough in. Other times it was too bitter. Other times to much caramel syrup. Other times too much coffee drink. Literally a comedy of errors. The baristas are super nice and seem good. So what’s the issue? The same problem that affects the toys in Toy Story 3, the place has way, way too many customers. It is always swamped. Always. Like 30 office workers deep with a dazzling array of orders. Plus, since it is literally a kiosk in the mall, it actually costs more money. At first, I figured that it had to be the baristas making the drinks. But no, that was not the issue.(And be clear, these folks are kind as all get out.) Then I thought different times of day. Nope. Not the issue. Because there is a constant never ending supply of customers. Between the mall folks, office folks, folks with kids at LegoLand, there are folks all day. So perhaps that’s the issue. But it shouldn’t be yours. Your coffee could suck and you’ll pay more. It’s that simple. Even though the folks are super nice.

Extremely inefficient Starbucks. The baristas don’t prep any of the drinks before its time to make them. An ice coffee should be poured just like a hot coffee and should not take 10 minutes.

This is by far the worst Starbucks service I have ever encountered. Cashier was very unprofessional — he was so carried away in fixing his own cup of coffee while ignoring the customers literally stand behind him. No greetings, no apologizes, and no thank you or whatsoever… a total silence from the cashier. Very disappointed.

Usually my go-to spot for morning coffee considering its a short walk from the office. Usually a great location(aside from the long morning lines, but really, what do you expect). All of my orders have been on-point, but my coworker’s drinks have always been a miss. Her Oprah chai tasted more like water if anything, and her other drinks orders were just wrong. She swears she’ll never go there again. Will I? It’s been good to me so far, so why not?

Starbucks inside a mall — biggest issue is that you get your drink and then you cannot take it into any stores. It’s window shopping for me. Usually there is not much of a line, so the baristas are speedy and efficient. They are friendly, and my drink has always come out right. Also, being in the mall, this isn’t your typical café. You have to wander for a place to sit and there isn’t really the joint to camp out with your laptop and work all day. Otherwise, it is the same menu, people and you can use your Starbucks card and earn stars — all that matters to me!

Take all the«complaints you’ve read here» and all the kudos, and that is what you’ll experience if you come here often. Phipps Plaza Starbucks is like a box of chocolates, you’ll never know what you gonna get… each day.

The Starbucks located inside Phipps… So I walk by you ALL of the time, and I have only been to you twice. Since I got some Starbucks gift cards, I think I will visit you more often(like tonight after church). Some times this place is mobbed, sometimes empty– last night, it was empty– score! I like this location for a few reasons– they have a lot of stuff for sale you wouldn’t think they carry(the snacks, cds, extras, etc.), they have a decent seating area, and you have the opprotunity to drool at a Bentley if you choose to sit down. If you would like, they even have more seating up 2 flights of escalators for a different view. The baristas were friendly, and I ordered a venti white chocolate mocha frap(I wanted to live dangerously, never had that flavor before). It came quickly, and I drank it before I even got to my car. Yum! A great place for a quick late afternoon pick me up, especially after battling rush hour traffic… There is even a restroom right next to the place if you need one…

My favorite Starbucks of all! I love the baristas, they are warm and very friendly. There are a few who have been working there for a long time. They are like my friends. There was this guy who used to work there, he made the best hot chocolate I have ever tasted in this world. Yes, I have been to Starbucks in many countries, and when I get back home, I rushed to this location to get my very comforting hot chocolate. Nobody makes hot chocolate like how he made it. My girlfriend said this once«I didn’t know hot chocolate can taste this good!» Of cos, they know my usual drink too. By this time, I seriously think I am too predictable. No problem in getting a vacant table here. This location is calm and quiet. A great place to have a decent conversation :) Used to go to this location 5 days a week, now it is just once since I don’t have to come to Phipps during the week days. Simply love this Starbucks!

Im a tea drinker… I only drink hot liquids here during Christmas. The Egg Nog Latte is to dye for. Yes… I said dye… not die~ One of those mall kiosk-ish Starbucks that gets just as busy as any other Starbucks. They must make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, just off Phipps Plaza employees. This version sits on the lower level of Phipps just in front of the Coach store and a Sunglass Hut. They have the standard breakfast fare, plain bagel, morning buns, crossionts, and pound cake and some of the best blueberry scones Ive ever had. Not the sandwiches I see advertised at some places. They also have protein packs, salads, and yogart. Im not sure if they still sell the Odawalla juices as I havent seem them lately, but lately all I’ve been intrested in is my Trente(31 oz) Passion Ice Tea… which is twice the size as what I get from Teavana, and $ 1 less. Also… when I compared the price of the Trente versus the Venti(24 oz) it is less than 25 cents. LOL @ my co-worker who always gets the Grande which is 16oz. Well today was my day to make the starbucks run and for whatever reason I got her a Tall(12oz) instead… when she poured the tall into her previously used grande cup… we realized that it really isnt 4 oz of difference… its more like one oz difference if you get one of the iced drinks… so all this time shes been paying almost $ 3 more for about one oz more of frappacuinos or iced mochas or whatever they are called. Overall, the staff is indifferent, but I guess thats because its a Starbucks and most people just want their coffee/tea and are ready to go. However, I think some people must be more of a regular than me, becuase on more occassions than not, I’ll hear one of the staff say… do u want your usual. to either the person in front of me or back of me and I think… my Lawd… with all the people that come to this location, how do u remember what somone’s usual is? In addition, they have NOT had water on several occassions and had to ask people to come back for their coffee fix later on. Even today, I heard them tell someone that it would be 10 minutes before they had some type of coffee, but they had decaf… which no one seem to want.

I remember coming here during the afternoon on a Friday and seeing the longest line EVER. There were at least 20 people waiting in line, apparently for some sort of free coffee special that Starbucks was promoting. It got so bad that at one point they had put up a sign that said something like, «temporary out of coffee.» By then, the staff had left and the line had dissipated. I ducked into the Nike Store for a bit and came back out to see that they were back in business and managed to squeeze myself into the very small line at the time. The very nice Starbucks Baristas offered me the free coffee promo, but since I don’t drink coffee I offered it to the guy behind me in line instead. I managed to walk out of there with a fabulous Green Tea Frappucino and $ 6.00 out of my wallet. Yes, it was a rip off. If its any consolation, I have a feeling this little kiosk-ish location will become one of the many casualties in the Starbucks chain in the years to come.
