My daughter has been taking lessons for over a year. The instructors have been wonderful with her. The are patient and encouraging. She’ll be ready for swim team this summer!

We’ve had our kids taking swimming lessons for more than a year. Overall, I’ve been pleased with the instruction. It’s been a slow process(learning to swim), but I like the private instruction model. The customer service however has been profoundly disappointing, We’ve had an issue the past week where our kids’ lesson is scheduled at the same time as a pool volleyball game, and last week one of the volleyballers complained vehemently about their having the pool reserved(I guess my 6 yo was supposed to just jump out). It was quite awkward, and I called SWAP to make them aware. I called that Monday and it took multiple calls, emails, texts to get Nate to call me back 4 days later. When he did call, he told me he would call the pool to clarify how the pool was reserved and call me right back. He never did(even after I left multiple messages asking him to follow up on it before my kids’ next lesson(today). Of course, today we had the same issue, and I was left to ask to speak to the Highland Athletic Club director and try to resolve the issue myself. Dealing with the management of this company has been excruciatingly difficult for absolutely no reason. They seem to have very little respect for customers. They apologized for shoddy customer service in the past and blamed it on growth, but it doesn’t take much to return a phone call…

My husband took lessons last year and he still can’t swim. I think the weird part is that his instructor first lessons are trying to get my husband to swim with his face in the water. Why wouldn’t he be taught to tread water first? My husband told me he thinks swimming is hard because he can’t breathe. Duh. even I who learned how to swim as a child still doesn’t like to swim by holding my breath. He only needs swimming lesson to be able to leisurely swim on hot summer days not for competition on anything like that. I’d be happy is he he just did the doggy paddle. I told my husband to tell his instructor to teach him how to tread water first but he was uncomfortable to tell the instructor how to teach. Meanwhile 4 lessons in and he still doesn’t know how to swim. He missed 2 classes to due scheduling reasons. It was a waste of money for us. Another bad thing about this company was that it was very hard getting in contacting with anyone from there. I can’t tell you how many times I had to call and email them before getting any response.
