Horrible. This guy is taking money and poring drinks. Just very nasty. Bartender isn’t very friendly …. just not a very good set up … Ian sitting at bar. And I’m just amazed.

Kind of disappointed. Drove 40 minutes to go here to meet with some friends I had not seen in a long time. Chose it due to my love for Mexican food and great ratings. We instantly sat down while we caught up and decided what to eat. After we talked for a while a gentleman approaches our table and let’s us know that we are supposed to order first and then sit and that if it fills up he will have to ask us to get up. We had menus in hand and there were four tables open inside and the whole outside open as well, we were clearly going to order food. Needless to say we felt as though his comment was rude and out of place. We went to order as requested and the cashier was also rude. Food was ok, not bad but nothing to loose sleep over either. Tacos are plain. I would not recommend this place or come here again.

Shrimp and corn chowder is good. I do have to agree with other reviewers though, the man who runs the register needs a major attitude adjustment. Customers aren’t there for you sir but you are the first point of contact and set the tone for the rest of the dining experience. If you hate your job, find another one. Don’t ruin everyone else’s day because you are miserable and come off like a prick. If he wasn’t there I would probably go more often. Just being honest.

Parking is a handful but completely worth it for the BESTFISHTACOS on earth. And even though they’re not tiny, you’ll still eat like three or four of them. It is always a must-have when in Atlanta. Everyone knows; that’s why it’s always crowded.

3.5 stars. I came here recently for a quick dinner with some coworkers. We ordered chips and guac and salsa for the table. The guac was pretty good(though I’ve had better) and the chips were nice and crispy and not too oily. I ordered 2 different types of fish tacos and the shrimp chowder. Solid tacos! While it was missing that extra kick(there wasn’t hot sauce immediately available), the flavors were enjoyable. The service was also super fast! The food came out in no time. I’d recommend this place for a quick bite if you’re in the area. –L.

With all the hood restaurants in Atlanta, it’s just not worth the wait and the attitude. I kept trying to give these the benefit of the doubt and leave feeling mildly insulted by the staff every time I go. Sorry guys. I prefer restaurants that treat me nice AND appreciate my business.

Taqueria Del Sol has a very limited menu and while they do what they do very well, it is hard to find things to eat when you’re on a limited diet due to food sensitivities. One thing no other restaurant can compete with is the speed at which Taqueria Del Sol gets you your food! You order at the bar and within 5 minutes of sitting down your food is delivered to you. Last time I was there I had roasted chicken enchiladas with a tomatillo sauce with a side of turnip greens. The enchiladas were very good and while the turnip greens tasted good they were very oily. I keep going back to Taqueria Del Sol because the food is good but each time I’m there I read the entire menu and finish wishing there was more to choose from.

Decent Tex-Mex tacos in the up and coming neighborhood of West Midtown. The tacos are very different from the small hole-in-the-wall taco shops that you’ll find on Buford Highway. Meat choices are more tame — you’re not going to find lengua tacos on the regular menu here. Served on soft flour tortillas, you can order the Memphis(BBQ smoked pork), Brisket, Fried Chicken, Carnita, Fish or Veggie taco. You can also order enchiladas or assorted specials of the day as well. Food is ordered at the counter and is brought out to you. I noticed that there is an additional charge you if you order takeout instead of dining in. The line went out the door at lunchtime on a Sunday, but there’s a small covered heated waiting area to keep guests happy. There’s a lot of tables, which you should ask your servers to move if you come with a large group. I ordered the Fried Chicken taco, Carnita taco, and Fish taco. The tacos weren’t extraordinary, but they were good. I liked the sauces on the Fried Chicken and the Fish taco. The breading on the fried chicken didn’t have a lot of seasoning. Out of the three, the Fish taco was probably my favorite. I’d probably come back again to try the Memphis and the Brisket taco to see how those are. Parking is plentiful and you’re walking distance to Jeni’s Ice Cream and West Side Provisions.

Came here for lunch yesterday since it’s one of the few restaurants on the Westside I haven’t tried. It was ok, but there was nothing in particular that made me say«Oh I definitely need to come back here.» I had the Memphis, Brisket, and Fried Chicken tacos. Also shared some chips and salsa with my friend. The food came out insanely fast which is a plus, but it might be awhile before I come back and try something else on the menu.

Went to taqueria del sol today for the first time as reviews have been quiet encouraging. Personally I have rather been disappointed which might have been reasoned with my personal disbelief in the new trend of the impersonal«order at the counter at standard pricing and pay extra for every single item» concept. We waited in line for 15 minutes and my partner wanted to take a table due to the long wait and was told by a rude waiter to get back up and order/pay prior to seating. We had guacamole, tacos, enchiladas and shrimp corn chowder. The ingredients were at a good quality but overall little seasoned, over peppered and one taco had absolutely no sauce in it(when we asked for some it was $ 1). Overall medium food, 15 minutes of standing in line and rude service made this visit be my last. There are much better restaurants in close proximity.

This place is pretty good for the price. I had a brisket enchilada, and a cheese enchilada. Both were pretty yummy. The beef could have been a little more seasoned. With that I had the beans and rice combo which was pretty standard. Nothing AMAZING to say about it. I had the cheese dip w/jalapeños. This was definitely the best this that I ordered.

Meh… Been going down hill now for a solid year. First time I came here was about a year ago. It was awesome. I was a bit taken back by the middle aged red head partially balding stoic man at the register, however the food made me look the other way. Three visits later and a consistent downturn in food quality, I will chose to spend my money elsewhere. The tacos are quite dry now. They used to be filled with exotic, fusion inspired sauces. They are now very dry and weak. Service is mediocre. The guy at the register that I mentioned earlier, I’m sick of. I’ve had issues with tacos here in the past. When I approach him with an issue, he’s quite snobby and too busy to be bothered. I’ve never seen him smile. I sat at the bar for an hour, did not see him smile once. He’s quite pompus. He’s rude and doesn’t belong in customer service. I’m done coming here. Not worth the wait.

There’s usually a long line out the door, but it goes by pretty quick. You basically put your order in and you seat yourself; the server will find your table with no trouble. If you don’t get a drink, remember to ask for a cup for water that you fill yourself. There is seating outside and inside. There appears to be a lot more people on line than available seating, but their food is so easy to eat, people don’t stay there for very long. We’ve never found any trouble finding a seat despite its business. The soft tacos appear small, but I’ve seen smaller at other places that charge even more(ahem, bartaco, ahem). These are so affordable that you will want to get at least 2 – 3 tacos. Here are the ones that I have tried with my bf: *SHRIMPCORNCHOWDER — it’s a small bowl, but soooo good. this is an absolute must get! *MEMPHIS — Chopped smoked pork with a spicy jalapeño coleslaw and tequila BBQ sauce. — I liked the smoked meat in this one! *FISH — Tilapia dipped in an egg wash, rolled in corn masa and bread crumbs and deep-fried. Served with poblano tartar sauce and pickled jalapeños. — Fried very well, and fish meat is tender and flakey. There was one time when we ordered this and it was not as good, so it can have some consistency issue with this one at least. *FRIEDCHICKEN — Strips of fried chicken breast, lime jalapeño mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato. — Most standard tasting of the bunch, but the other tacos were more interesting tasting. *BRISKET — Shredded beef brisket with pico de gallo. — My bf really enjoyed this one. *PORKGREENCHILI. The guy at the counter said the red chili is the more popular one but the green chili one is better. But it turned out to be too spicy for us to handle! Special: Carnitas and mushrooms(shiitake) — this was too cheesy for us. Overall, whenever we go back, the main staples we always get are the shrimp corn chowder, fish, brisket, and memphis tacos. This place is a great dinner option for those on a budget since taste is not compromised by the pricing. Parking is free but is shared with other businesses in the area, so it gets packed during peak meal hours. Just be a little patient as there are always people leaving and a spot will open up.

The food is delicious and the guacamole is a favorite of mine. Unfortunately all margs involve sour mix. However, you can try coming here on a Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. during severe weather and you will still need to stand in line for 45 minutes to order. Then be rushed out of your limited seating immediately after eating. The situation is so extreme that bar seating is not first come, first serve. There is a list. They also have very strict rules on ordering takeout which eliminates that as an option. Eating out to me should be a relaxing and enjoyable experience. This place is like Disney world.

DOWNGRADEDTO3STARS! They used to have REALLY good tacos, Now they’re just average. The main attraction must be the price, to justify such a long line. House hot sauce is the Valentino brand, which is excellent needed flavoring for the tacos. Patio dining area is covered.

Since I’ve lived in Atlanta my whole life, everyone around me kept telling me that I HAD to try out Taqueria. I’m a Bone Garden faithful, so I went in with very high expectations. We got there fairly early, so our wait wasn’t very long. We had no problem finding a table, and our guac was brought out promptly. I found that while the guac was fresh, it was too bland for my tastes. I like mine to have some jalapeños and a kick. Nonetheless, it was good. I ordered the carnita taco and the fish taco. The fish was better than the carnita. I wasn’t a fan of the carnita — it was bland. I had a bite of my husband’s Memphis taco, and it had good flavor. We didn’t have margaritas, so I can’t speak to those. The service was great, and we even had someone check on us to make sure everything was okay, which was nice considering you don’t really have a waiter. Overall, I’d come back if we were others coming here. But, I’ll stay faithful to Bone Garden right down the street.

I have a hard time pinpointing it but Taqueria just isn’t my favorite. It’s fine and I’ll go if someone else wants to, but it’s definitely at the bottom of my list for Mexican in the area. For the concept and price, you get more bang for your buck at Verde and waiter service. Or for a more«authentic» experience, Bone Garden. I’m not a huge fan of standing in a long line to order and then having to find my own table, I guess. And then they’re always hovering over you and rushing you out so it’s not a leisurely, enjoyable meal. The margs are pretty solid, but nothing special. I think the frozen margarita has a little bit of an edge over the regular, but that also could be influenced by how hot the day is. Their cheese dip and guac are both good — the cheese dip isn’t runny and comes with spicy fresh jalapenos in it, and the guac is very fresh. If you want chips and salsa, that is an extra expense. Nothing comes complimentary. As far as tacos go, I’ve tried most of them and they are all tasty, just no standouts for me. They occasionally have chile rellano specials and those are always yummy so that would be my recommendation.

I used to come to here all the time during undergrad before my Unilocal days. Back then it was worth the long wait in line. I was worried with time, it would have taken a hit in quality. But nope… it ‘s still a great place to grab a bite. I had the fish and chicken tacos as well as a cup of corn chowder. The fish tacos had fried tilapia with tartar sauce and pickled jalapenos. The chicken tacos were two fried chicken fingers with a jalapeño mayonnaise, tomatoes, and lettuce. The shrimp corn chowder is amazing and probably my favorite thing on the menu. It taste the same as it did 6 years ago. Typically can’t find more than 2 shrimp in a cup, but it’s still very tasty chowder with a bit of a spicy kick. The margaritas are ok. A little weak, but not too expensive either.

AHYISSSSCHEAPTACOSISWHATLIFEISABOUT I thought this place would be some fancy schmancy taco spot, but it was not pretentious at all. I got there around 9pm and there was no line, so the service was fast. There were still a lot of people there though which made the place very lively. When I got my tacos, they were very delicious and filling. I think I also ordered guac as well. Highly recommend!
