What a miserable, pathetic excuse for a gas station. I’m guessing it lives off the dollars of the clueless returning their rental cars* or those simply without other options, because I can’t imagine locals using it voluntarily. I certainly don’t begrudge the beggars that appeared at my window as soon as I pulled up, but the very fact that there was more than one before I even got out of the car kind of tells you what kind of neighborhood you’re in. And of course the darn pump wouldn’t accept my card. Between going back and forth with the clerk(tough to hear behind bulletproof glass), and trying to get the thing started, and then actually needing help from one of the hangers-on to kick the thing in just such a way that it would pump the damn gas, it probably took a good 20 minutes just to fill up my tank. And it was pricey, not even counting the extra cash for those who needed it. Gas station in poor repair, with indifferent staff, in a straight-up bad neighborhood … yeah, I think I’ll pass next time. * One guess if I fit in this category.

***This Texaco is right off the freeway near the Atlanta airport; the pumps are old and the placement is kind of odd – one pump in each aisle and maybe 7 or so aisles; still, it is easy getting in and out of*** A few free parking parking spaces are available at this Texaco; I think a few quick eateries and shops are located next to this gas station.
