Just stopped in to try something new and unfortunately I’m not that impressed. From the name and menu selection I expected to be blown away with Flavor. I selected the 3 taco and fries deal with a cool aid to drink. First off let me state the cool aid was fantastic!, but how hard is it to mess up cool aid? The food on the other had was another story. My shrimp in my tacos were fried so long they took on a weird texture I’ve never had before, and weren’t even hot. My guess is that they were pre-fried and maybe warmed a little… and my fries were luke warm at most as well. The place is small so I expected to wait a little while to get fresh hot delicious food, but they failed to deliver. The tacos seemed like they could have been good if they would have cooked main ingredient(the meat) fresh and paid close attention not overcooked it. I wanted so much to support another black owned business, but they really are going to have to step their game up before I waste my hard owned coins in there again. The customer service was good, but it needs to be followed up with a good product.

This is my first time trying The Flavor Café. I must say I’m impressed. The owners were very friendly and got my orders right at the first try. This is a best kept secret in Decatur. I’m glad they send menus out into the community because I would have never tried them if I didn’t get the menu in the mail today. You have a lifetime customer.

Sorry but this place is not good. Good customer service but the food is just not good. Tried the macaroni and cheese, a beef burger, and peach bbq wings. Mac and cheese was past bland, the wings were fried to oblivion, and the fries were overcooked. Note to all cooks… Please stop sprinkling parsley on everything! It adds no value to the food! Presentation can’t trump flavor. I will say that the burger was seasoned well but still pink in the middle, I didn’t ask for medium cooked burger however. I didn’t try the cakes but they looked like box cake at best with too much vegetable oil added… very flat slivers of cake with icing. Now what I will say is that the strawberry kool-aid was on point! Flavor Café please read and go back and make adjustments. There is a huge disconnect with the name of this business and the food.
