CLOSED — 3÷25÷2012 Sadly, the Tin Drum company that owns this little place will replace it with one of their flagship cafes. RIP Wonderful World. You were a great treat throughout my college years. I will forever long for your teri-mayo hotdogs and french fries!

slider-styled burgers but an awesome ambiance in the seating area. The food is good, but the look and feel of the place is GREAT. Lights hang from the ceiling in a low-light setting and the walls give it a warm feeling out of a Disney movie. You can sit at a long and slender low bar for a group of people together, or elevated seating with 1 – 2 others. Their fries are wonderful, onion rings are done right as they are lightly friend. The diversity of burgers isn’t enormous, but you can customize to create a great dinner. The shrimp wrap looked insanely good, but the TexMex burger was delicious.

I have been coming here quite a bit since they opened over a year ago. I like how you have all these inexpensive options that you can mix and match to construct your meal. crinkle cut fries: I always defer in attempt to be healthy(see salad description) but then always end up eating all of my boyfriend’s, cause I love me some salt and dill. Veggie Burger: obsessed. it s a mix of different starchy veggies(corn, peas, potato maybe) and its cooked so its wonderfully crispy and caramelized at the edges. Cheeseburger: Pretty good, and I like their house sauce, but this is a place where I prefer the veggie burger– the beef patty is just ok. Its the bun, cheese and sauce that speak louder here. Shrimp Wrap: I have been ordering this a lot. The wrap is made out of that indian bread(similar to roti, I forget the name), the filling is a few large battered shrimp with avocado sauce and some other spices. I think this wrap is delicious. Probably my favorite in the menu(close competitor with the veggie burger) Chicken Curry Wrap: Really interesting mix of flavors also. Same wrap bread as above, but filling is a curry flavored grilled chicken breast. There’s lots of sauce. Chop Chop salad: I order this because it is healthy, it really fills me up and its pretty tasty. Shredded lettuce and shaved carrot(+/-tomato? I forget) + toasted sesame seed dressing. The dressing is killer. The atmosphere is pretty simple but appropriate for the Emory village area. Definitely a great lunch spot, or a place for low key dinner+cheap brews.

Burgers are delicious. As are their fries and onion rings. Shrimp wrap is really tasty too! I wasn’t a big fan of the kimchi stew though. Stick with the burger fare in my opinion.

(01/13/2012) Great little burgers in the Emory Village, just off campus; they’re a little larger than a slider, about a 4 oz. patty of juicy, beefy, hand-formed ground chuck mix. Bun was buttery tasting, slightly eggy, just shy of brioche. The Wonderful burger was indeed pretty wonderful; love the classic meld of melted American cheese, a bread and butter pickle, special sauce(looked like ketchup and mayo) and shredded romaine. Onion rings were half-inch thick sliced, sweet(maybe the famed Vidalia), good amount of a crispy, fluffy, slightly heavier than tempura batter flecked with large specks of black pepper, also pretty wonderful. Will def put on my list for next time I’m in the area.

The name says it all — this place is all kinds of wonderful. I ordered the«tex-mex» burger and a «wonderful world» burger(small, slider style) and the crinkle fries. Both were great, although I’d probably get the«tex-mex» style again. My friend ordered the chopped salad, which also looked delectable. The best part about this place is the price — it’s cheap. Definitely a great spot, I’ll be back for more.

This is a great option for lunch. It’s convenient(if you work at Emory/CDC). The portions are just right for lunch(i.e., the burgers are not huge and over-filling). The fried and onion rings are outstanding. Service is great and friendly. Prices are very cheap. I like this place a lot.

Not-so-good: It’s a really tiny burger Good: Oh my goodness this veggie /vegan burger is awesome — crunchy yet soft and loaded with flavor The service is extra friendly Staff cool with asking about specific ingredients(I am a vegan so I asked if the veggie burger was vegan and the hostess promptly consulted with the chef who looked over his ingredients and got back to me [it is vegan but beware that some batches of the avocado sauce may have sour cream]) So for $ 3.16, I got a tiny burger with onions and pickles. Don’t expect a normal size burger(they are way smaller). But as far as veggie burgers, this is a step up from cooking your own Boca burger at home.

This is actually a 4.5. So I came here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty crowded. I split a seaweed hot dog, a regular burger, and an order with fries with a friend. The food took about 20 minutes to make, which seemed a little long for what we ordered. But once we got the food, it was TOTALLY worth it. Hot dog: Probably the best hot dog I’ve ever had, I think there was eel sauce, mayo, and seaweed on it. It was the perfect hot dog! Burger: I only had a few bites, but it was so flavorful. Yes, it was small, but the patty was thick and the ingredients were really good quality. Fries: I usually hate crinkle cut fries, but the dill seasoning made it work. They were so hot and yummy! So the burger was small, and the hot dog was regular sized(but usually one eats more than just a hot dog for dinner), but honestly, I didn’t leave hungry. Instead(for once in my entire life) I ate a burger, hot dog, and fries and didn’t leave the restaurant feeling greasy and disgusting. Well done, Wonderful World.

This is one of my favorite places. It deserves 5 stars. It’s simple, good quality, and cheap. First of all, they have great prices on everything. A burger will only set you back about $ 3. They have vegan burgers as well as english muffin burgers(which is my favorite). The fries aren’t anything special, but they are good. I think what I love most about this place is the simplicity. The lighting and the seating is very minimal(see picture), but also very cozy, warm, and inviting. Perfect for a poor student who wants high quality food. You order what you want; nothing more. The burgers are sold at a lower price point because they are slightly smaller than normal burgers(much like sliders), but still very filling. They are also cheaper because they don’t come with fries. The milkshakes aren’t anything to write home about, but they are good. They have a nice home-made taste to them — which is exactly what I like.

The Starbucks dude was telling me, as an excuse for why he was away from the register for two minutes, about how his coworker brought back fries from Wonderful World, so after I finished my second refill of coffee for the evening I decided to try them out as my faux-dinner. This was my first time in the place. The décor is super endearing: the hardwood long tables and bar stools, the hand-painted stenciling in the bathroom(or, at least the women’s bathroom), and the silent experimental film playing on a projection screen. I wasn’t in the mood for a substantial meal, so I only ordered fries, which to my surprise came covered in dill. I’m not picky, and they turned out to be delicious, but let this be a warning to any of y’all who are not down with dill!

The Wonderful World of Burgers is located in Emory Village. Food: burgers, of course! They are smaller-sized, kind of like sliders. Two is more than enough for the average person. They have your standard hamburger or cheeseburger and then a few special burgers. For example, there is the wonderful burger with lettuce, cheese, pickles, tomato. There is a texas burger with chili on top. There is even a burger that comes on an English muffin. And for you veggies, there is a homemade vegetarian burger(black bean, I think). There are also several sandwiches and hot dog options to choose from. And burgers can’t go without fries and onion rings. Mini Ben & Jerry Ice cream cups and milkshakes are also for sale. On this visit, I had the veggie burger(tastes healthy, maybe a little dry), the wonderful burger(standard burger, cooked well, moist), the texas burger(the chili adds a little kick) and fries. I shared and I was plenty full. Total cost was about $ 12 for the 3 burgers and fries(about $ 3 per burger). Drinks: fountain sodas. They do have a decent beer selection at reasonable prices. There is a pitcher of tap water with lemon as well. Ambiance: the interior is very simple. The floor is concrete. The walls are wood paneled with some light coming through between the planks of wood. There are 3 long wooden tables with wooden chairs. There is an LCD projector that is directed at the white painted wall over the cashier, but nothing was playing when I was there. The menu screen from some Japanese DVD was displayed. You go to the counter and order; when they call your number, you go up and get it. Staff: not super-friendly, but not rude either. No complaints. Since you order, pick up, and clean up your food yourself, I leave it to you to determine if you really need to tip. Parking: currently, there is some construction being done to the parking in front of the place, but there is a decent-sized lot in the back. For those of you interested, the health rating posted on the wall: 90 In general, I think this is a great place to go for lunch — especially if you are Emory faculty, staff or student. The burgers are all made in house and taste fresh. The setting is very simple, so don’t expect too much. I would return for lunch if I was in the area. Also nice that it is open until 10pm.

Solid place for cheap eats, but they have this great soup, I love their mini chopped up salad and their onion rings are super! The price is great but consider the fact that the portion side is definitely diet friendly. Smaller than a 5 guys Little burger(1 patty) and bigger than a White Castle(Krystal) sized rat burger. Clean place, don’t expect any«service» as you have to go to retreat your own food, your own water, and your own EVERYTHING. Even throw your own garbage. Good pretty quick place to grab lunch, and head back to class or work without killing your pockets and overly expanding your waistline.

Quirky little place near Emory. The burgers here are slightly bigger than the dreaded«slider» and appear to be hand pattied. Buns are similar to a homemade dinner roll and are quite nice. As far as selection is concerned, it’s really up to you. You’re not going to find a «Ray’s Bullhorn BBQ Burger» or some similar wacky selection of burgers. They are simple and force you to make such hard decisions like, do I want cheese, or some bacon, or tomato? I go for the Wonderful Burger, add onion. Also a must try, TERI-MAYO hot dog. Teriyaki sauce, kewpie mayo(if you haven’t had this, warning: real good) and roasted seaweed. Sounds a little weird, but it is a popular street food in other parts of the world. It’s real good. As for fries vs. rings here. It’s a toss up, I’ve had both. Both are obviously hand cut. Fries have a great seasoning on them and rings are deceptively light. The beauty of this place is that it is simple. Simple food with some emphasis on quality. Simple place, wood paneling, wood communal tables, and it looks like the wood has been salvaged and recycled for the restaurant. Overall, I think this is a real solid place. Hopefully we could see some clever menu variations in the future. Service is weird sometimes, but is overall fast and efficient.

Must try: The Teri-Mayo dog. Not sure how it’s possible to put seaweed and teriyaki sauce on a hot dog and make it taste good, but it has been done. I also had the English Burger(sauteed onions & mushrooms on a burger on an english muffin) and the burger was a little unmanageable, but tasty. The chop-chop salad was also good and the hand-cut onion rings were pretty tasty as well. The parking is limited and the seating is via benches after you order @ the cashier. Simple is good in my book. The décor is plain, back lit wood walls — same wood as the benches, which is neat. They had the Smiths playing on the sound system and a projector displaying random contemporary images. Neat. I’ll be back.

I like it. It’s simple, quick, easy, and painless. If you’re in the area and craving a burger, this is your stop. If you’re craving a wonderful, medium rare burger that’s going to put you in a food coma for the rest of the day, keep driving. The burgers here are mindless, cheap and refreshing. They feature a really great eggy bun(kind of like a mini-fuddruckers) a small patty, well melted cheese, shredded lettuce, a B&B pickle and special sauce. They’re about 1⁄3 bigger than most sliders, so I think most ambitious eaters could easily eat two. I wasn’t that hungry and I downed two and an order of fries with ease. Speaking of fries, Wonderful World shows what a little bit of care can do to standard-issue frozen fries. They fry to order, add some large flakes of salt and some dill and presto-change-o you’ve got hot crispy and delicious frozen fries(thinks of Dwight Schrute, «Oh, great. Tasty, terrific pizza. Hmm. Question: Do their pizzas play DVDs?»). Take note other fast food style burgers joints(I’m looking at you Grindhouse). I think the burgers are about $ 3.50 each and the quality is good, but they won’t blow you away. Also, beers here are dirt cheap $ 2.00 for a Sweetwater 420! Again, it’s easy and decent, so if you’re in the area and need a quick bite, this burger’s for you.

Hey, let’s put on a burger joint! That’s the kind of youthful enthusiasm and innovative entrepreneurship I feel from walking in this place. The burgers are very carefully measured. They aren’t sliders, but they are slightly bigger than sliders. I am reminded of a crazy ex room-mate of mine who insisted on portioning things through a poster given to her by some health organization. The burgers are about the size of a pack of playing cards. Not a lot of food, but it was enough to quell my lunch cravings. I do agree that Americans are used to crazy food portions. I would not eat these burgers to bulk up for a football game or to prepare for a months-long trek in the mountains, but they will get you from Lunch to Dinner just fine. I am a fan of the fries. Anybody who gives me fries with lovely sea salt and dill on them will be rewarded with a big smile, so these guys got one from me. And the place was nice and clean. The really interesting part of this place is the seating. It looks like someone had procured a bunch of scrap lumber and just decided to make a bench out of it. Now, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe this is highly expensive designer /decorator décor. I admit that I don’t have the education to appreciate such things, but I’m willing to learn. Anyway, it served its purpose: it held up my plate so I can eat. Frankly, I would be willing to stand around with the plate in my hand eating this meal. The burger was tasty(maybe someone upped the fat content in the meat, because they were not as tasteless as some of the previous reviewers have said) and the fries especially so. That they had fresh brewed sweet tea and free wi fi made all the difference. I loved my lunch here, and if they weren’t so far from work I would go back quite a bit. I’m intrigued as to some of the«Supper» entries they have on their menu M-F. They’re branching out with their menu and I would love to hear how that fare works.

For a lazy Sunday, James H. and I did a lot of driving. OK, it was James doing the driving, but hell, we basically circled Atlanta. That’s what 2 meals and a movie and a trip to Best Buy/Lowe’s will get you. Wonderful World of Burgers & More was Meal #2 in our grand day of screwing off and increasing our carbon footprint. The store gives off a good first impression. Stripped down aesthetic, but not cheap looking. Long communal«tables»(practically benches really) run parallel to one another. The walls are covered in wood planks. «Wood,» seems the operative word when it comes to décor. The menu is similarly stripped down. You can get a Wonderful burger, a cheeseburger, a hot dog and a teri-mayo dog(more on that later) as well as fries and/or onion rings. That’s pretty much it. No wacky flavors or turkey substitutes. It appears that they didn’t really take much advantage of the«& More» part of their name. Reminds me of the time I went to a Bed, Bath, and Beyond expecting a sensual massage. For the record, that’s NOT what they mean by «Beyond.» I ordered a Wonderful Burger(essentially a cheeseburger with lettuce & onion), fries, a coke and(I’m sorry dear wife of mine) a teri-mayo dog. I had to try it. I’d seen Bourdain eat one of these on a recent episode of «No Reservations» so I had to give it a go. The burgers are smidge bigger than a slider. Oh, they’re not Krystal size by any means, but they’re not Five Guys size either. I actually think they’re sized pretty well, especially if you brought the kids. It’s perfect kid-sized.(Unless your kid is, you know, a fatty.) At $ 2.75 for the Wonderful, it’s not too pricey, but it can add up if you order a few. You can order your patty off the flat top(so no, they’re not grilled) medium to well-done. I ordered mine medium. The burgers are fine. As I remarked to James, «They ain’t Grindhouse, but it’ll do.» Certainly beats the Clown down the street. The fries were awesome… at first. Topped with kosher salt and dill, they’re addictive. However, the dill flavor started to wane halfway through which I addressed by adding dollops of ketchup and mustard. Still, them crinkle fries were tasty. Now onto the teri-mayo dog. These are popular in Japan; imagine a hot dog slathered in a teriyaki-mayo sauce and then topped with julienned nori I.e., seaweed. I bit in and… eh. Oh it wasn’t horrible per se, but it wasn’t the transcendent experience that Bourdain made it out to be. It was an unusual bite to be sure and worth trying at least once. But to me, I still prefer a Chicago dog over all else. One last thing? All beers are $ 2 and it’s not just PBR. Thumbs up on the cheap beer, Burger Dudes. I liked this place. I really want to return and try their weeknight specials, each of which are sold at the absurdly low price of $ 3.75. Hell, that’s cheaper than a Chick Fil-A No. 1 Combo. Wonderful? Not quite, but pretty damn good is still worth 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.

So I’ve heard this place just opened up in Emory Village and came here for lunch recently with a few friends. My initial rating of this place is around 3 – 3.5 stars, given the fact that I just was not a huge fan of their sliders, and the seating in the restaurant is poorly designed. However, I will add that some of my friends thought it was decent, and really pushed for me to give this place 4 stars. In terms of the sliders, they provide a variety of sliders ranging from a regular hamburger to a «Wonderful burger,» which is just a burger garnished with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and a house sauce.(All the burgers are really«sliders») They also feature a Veggie burger and hot dogs, which I did not try yet. My main problem with the sliders was that I found the meat to be lacking in flavor, and the bun was just very average. Overall it was just not a very memorable burger and left no motivation for me to come back wanting to eat another one. I will say that the positive for this place are the fries, and the onion rings(if they made them faster, that would be a plus.) The fries are crinkle cut and garnished to perfection. The onion rings are a bit on the thin side and could be a bit more substantial(use a bigger and thicker onion). In terms of service, they were slow, but apologized for the mistake by providing us with extra onion rings, which I thought was a nice gesture. I don’t think I’d come back here again anytime in the near future just because it’d cost you around $ 10 bucks for lunch here, and the burger is just mediocre at best. However, don’t let my rating stop you from trying this new place, as some of you might like it better than me.
