I am only giving 3 stars because of the beer selection(of course). but when you sit down at the bar and they have 3 – 4 bartenders working I would think you would be greeted immediately, not after 10 – 15 min. They maybe have 6 people at the bar and possibly 6 tables. This is the third time I have been here and not had good service. All of the staff look unhappy and not interested in the customers. If you want a good beer and bad service, this place is great! Will I return? Yes, but not expecting anything.

I’ve always seen and heard of World of Beer but never realized the enormity of the World. Street parking or deck parking is available with restaurant parking validation in the deck. I took the Marta to Midtown station, so it was just a brief half mile walk in the cold to get there. We were hoping to catch the Clemson-Bama playoff game, but worried we would have trouble getting seats. There was no problem when we got there around 7:45, although it was definitely pretty busy. I don’t remember our server’s name, but he was definitely a Clemson fan with his bright orange hoodie. He was always around, but half the time he was super swamped and couldn’t stop by to serve us. The carbonation was down, so fountain drinks(aka, Coke and rum or Jack and Coke) were unavailable. Some beers were also unavailable, as a result, such as my first choice wheat beer on draft. The server ended up giving me another recommendation, which wasn’t bad. There were plenty of bar snacks that were tasty as hell. From the pretzel(an over the top presentation) to wings and fish and tots, there was something for everyone. I had already eaten, so I just went for a couple beers. I wish there were more wheat beer options on tap, although I know it’s not necessarily in season. Overall, a great place to grab a drink and a quick bite. A little for ITP for me, but with its extensive beer menu, there is something for everyone.

Had a really good brunch here last weekend. The Belgian waffles were awesome. I built my own flight of beers and they were all delicious; their selection is great and I didn’t even look at the bottle list. Service was friendly and fast. Prices are pretty reasonable. Just FYI, on their website it says brunch starts at 11AM on the weekends but they don’t actually open until noon.

They have a great selection of beer, as one would expect. They give you a draft list but make sure you also check what they have in bottles. Food here is very good as well. I’ve always gotten appetizers here and it’s definitely delicious bar-type food. The pretzel with beer cheese is a favorite. Their wings are also very good; the Korean wing sauce is fantastic. This is a great place to go to watch Sunday football and enjoy some good beer and food!

Damned navigation, both on phone and in car, directed us over a block away from the actual location. Had to find World of Beer the old fashioned way, and even then the subtle«WoB» signage made the place difficult to spot. Oh well, it was worth it — because beer. Mmm… beer. There’s a lot of the malty and hoppy brew here that contributes greatly to the pleasantness of life. It’s too bad that they don’t offer more of them on tap(really, what is it about the absence of real taphouses in Atlanta?). Nevertheless, there is an extensive and killer selection here, even if most are bottled. I opted for a glass of Rauchbier. My wife selected an Oktoberfest-Marzen. Here’s a figurative tip of the hat to our waiter for his beer knowledge and overall attentiveness. No doubt any newcomer to beer can be guided along by the waitstaff to select an agreeable brew to imbibe. What beer bar experience would be complete without a few items to nosh on? Quite possibly the best German Pretzel I’ve found in metro-ATL. Nice melted butter glaze, just the right amount of flakey salt, soft doughy center. Yum. Though the pretzel is just fine with the provided mustard, add the beer cheese. Just do it. You won’t regret it. We even threw in the Artisan Sausage Board — a trio of cut up sausage, some pickles, peppadew peppers(one of my favorite ingredients), and more mustard. A worthy sharable snack. We even added a dessert! Caramel Apple Rings. Couldn’t resist an offering like that. The instantly familiar aroma of fried carnival fare(like funnel cakes and elephant ears) emanated from those tasty fried apple rings. The caramel sauce on the side was perhaps a bit heavy-handed with the flakey pretzel salt and the apples readily separated from the fried batter that they were fried in. That said, still very tasty. I’d be happy to return. So many different beers to try. Still more compelling menu items worthy of my attention(the Chimichurri Meatballs, Street Tacos, Flatbreads, and the Chimay Burger).

Came in late after watching Jersey Boys at the Fox Theater. Still served food. Had an awesome blood orange beer. Ordered a chipotle chicken sandwich, not much chipotle flavor but the chicken was still juicy and cooked well. Overall great vibe and lots of beer choices to try out.

Does it get worse than this for us? Probably not. We were so excited and cautious since we had heard horror stories about WOB. Bottomline is that If you get ignored at the bar and get served by a personality of a stick after 15 min of sitting at the bar the food quality does not matter anymore. Those tacos and pretzels can not replace the Smiley and caring service.

World of Beer is awesome. I am a fan of places that have selections like these and was even more in love when I saw the Weihenstephaner on tap here. We had a group of about 8 people and were given an ipad with all the beers. Our server was very helpful and even gave some suggestions. I chose to make my own ‘flight’ which allowed me to choose six 4oz beers to try. The cost was only $ 10, so it was beyond worth the price. Later we also ordered their tater tots and someone at the table went with the French Onion soup. The food was as expected for bar food, but still good. Everyone else ordered flights too, allowing us to thoroughly explore their menu. Although we sat inside, there were outside seats that were connected to the interior by one of those retractable glass garage doors. The location is awesome and they have a parking deck behind the building that they will validate. Check this place out!

I’m going to be honest; I am not a fan of bar style restaurants. That’s why I was so surprised when I actually liked this place! There are three seating areas, one fully inside, one fully outside(next to the street), and one that is in between the two. While the inside was a little too loud to really hear conversation, I found the middle area to be quieter with the feeling of being on the patio but without having cars zooming by. But I digress! Everyone in my group had the day’s special, the $ 5 burger and fries. It turned out to be one of the best, most flavorful burgers I have had in some time! The large cut fries were well seasoned and delicious. Now, I am not a fan of beer, but my friends absolutely loved theirs. And true to their name, they have a huge selection of beer from all around the world. I recommend giving it a try if you’re in the area!

We wound up here by default on a Wednesday night after our first restaurant choice had no available tables and line around the corner. And it was raining. And we had to pay to park. Needless to say, we arrived disgruntled. However, there were a ton of open tables and beer-a-plenty so our sour moods were quickly appeased. Because this is WOB and many people get the general concept, I’ll abbreviate this into a bullet-point review: +$ 5 flatbreads on Wednesday nights– totally worth it!- and they’ll customize them a bit for you +You can get a side salad for about $ 3.50– you just have to ask for it +Beer flights are awesome(I’m not a fruity beer lover, but the fruity beer flight was fun to try) — you’re looking at about $ 10 though +Plenty of seating –TV’s in every direction to completely distract from human interaction– I guess it’s a sports bar, but I didn’t like it –Service was crazy slow– we had to flag down the waitress to order and then again to pay –Another table near us was overheard complaining that they saw the bartender take a sip out of one of their drinks before delivering it. I can neither confirm nor deny this actually happening, but I thought it was important enough to include.

Great selection of beers. Also the chef came out to greet our table, which I can’t recall ever happening to me at a tavern(their description) before. Our server was prompt and had great suggestions. There was a table of guys playing spades and I thought that was pretty awesome.

A good pub/restaurant with a wide selection of beer. The food was on the better side of good, certainly better than average bar food. Service was friendly and quick. They allow smoking on the patio which was good for some people in our party.

I was looking for a good craft beer spot in Atlanta and this place seemed like a good place to start. They had maybe 40 or 50 rotating beers on tap. This is my kind of place. Whenever I’m in a new city I ask the bartender to recommend me something that I can’t get in New York. He immediately said Max’s Lager’s Hopsplosion IPA. This beer did not disappoint. I love it when the bartender is on point with their recommendations. I noticed a number of coolers with bottles behind the bar. I wish they had a beer menu for these. They were kind of hard to see from your seat and scattered, so you would need to walk around a bit to see them. From what I could see there was a really nice selection. If I lived in Atlanta this would probably be one of my go to bars.

Went to World of Beer on Thursday during lunch hours. Assumed it was self seating so I sat on a booth along the wall, waitress dropped off menus to me promptly. I originally didn’t want to drink but I tried the Lemon Shandy cider it was great, like carbonated lemonade. I ordered the Steak Salad, it took along time to come out but it came! It was really really good, I love fried chickpeas on salads. The steak I felt was under seasoned, maybe the salad as a whole was under seasoned, but still really amazing. I subbed out the blue for goat cheese by the way. My friend had the chipotle chicken sandwich. I didn’t taste it but I did have the fries and they were big & pretty good. I would be back to try some more beers. Love that they have beer pairing suggestions for each item on the menu, would love to see more dessert options.

World of Beer is a great change of pace from Taco Mac and Hudson Grille nearby. Though they don’t have as many draft beers as Taco Mac, their selection is just as interesting, and really who needs THAT many choices. I like World of Beer better because their food is better, and more interesting, than Taco Mac. Plus, they really push the sample aspect, which TM and HG don’t do. You can try lots of beers before making a selection. WoB is also a great place to watch sports since it’s a little bit under the radar as compared to other places in Midtown. I definitely recommend sitting at the bar to more easily try samples. Plus, the service is faster and better in my opinion. You must also join their loyalty program because their mobile app is amazing. It shows you the beers you’ve drank, as well as all the beers each location has on draft and in bottles. You can sort by style or ABV and many other categories. Definitely download the app if you come here multiple times.

So you knew the beer was good — it is in their name. Additionally, all of the bartenders are quite knowledgeable — and they have to be, much more so than some of the other beer joints around midtown. What you don’t hear often about is the food — had their burger and was really surprised by the quality and heartiness of it. Tots were average, but the burger made up for it.

For the last few months, my boyfriend has excitedly watched as a whole new world(of beer) was slowly being built across the street from his apartment. At last, the time had come. Four visits later, I’ve decided this place gets 5 stars because it’s the perfect amalgamation of several beer-drinking sports bars in Midtown: less businessy than Gordon Biersch, nicer than Hudson Grille, and less fratty than Taco Mac. Despite the name, I think the restaurant is a great casual date spot and caters well to the female crowd. Every time I’ve been here both the service and food were fantastic. Our favorite food item on the menu is the mac and cheese because it’s amazing and we can’t say no to anything sprinkled with bacon. I also recommend the artisan board and giant pretzel as good life choices. If you’re looking for something different, you can try the mixed draughts(a blend of two different beers) or the flights(4 different beers, smaller pours), or create your own mixed draft or beer shot if you’re feelin’ crazy.

We came here because my family from New York said they have a ton of beers to choose from and that is true. we ordered what’s called a «flight» which is a set of 4 beers and they had 3 or 4 sets but we choose the IPA/lager beers which normally are good. The beers were to be set up from light to dark and that way your palate will get a better flavor feel, but ours were not and the dark lager was not and the mix of them were pretty sour except for the lightest beer. Our hostess was great with us as far as giving us plenty of attention but the beers were kind of lam. Bar food items looked good as i asked some customers about their dishes. I will be back again just to seee the other beers and if the service is still great.

(much longer review with photos in my food blog) The World of Beer is located at 855 Peachtree St NE, STE5 across from the Gordon Biersch and near the Fox Theater. It’s also a free WiFi hotspot. This is a nearly 4000SF facility with 500 bottles, 4 nitro and 53 rotating taps. This is the first WOB opening in GA(there’s a second coming to Kennesaw) for the Tampa based company, currently operating in 19 states and 63 locations. Parking is available at Viewpoint Midtown Condominiums(corner of Peachtree St. NE&6th St.) with up to 2 hour validation. There’s also an über code: WOBATL. There’s also a loyalty club and free app. The bar has outdoor seating, then a sort-of inner courtyard with additional covered seating and finally a sports-style bar with multiple taps, glass cases of bottled beer and flat panels showing the game. I held a technology MeetUp on the opening night with about 10 participants, drinking beer and sampling apps. We had: Tater Tots Gigantic Pretzel with Beer Cheese Marguerita Flat Bread Mac n Cheese Dry Rubbed Chicken Wings Of the apps, the Pretzel and wings were a cut above the rest — in fact the wings were well worth the price of admission(not that they charge a cover, but you know what I mean). For beer, I had the Lion Stout, the Sweetwater Hop Hash and the Terrapin Moo Hoo — all fantastic pours. We all had a great time!
