My husband and I made reservations here for Saturday night(Valentine’s Day eve). We just finished at the Borgata and drove the 15 minutes to The Iron Room. It was our first time in Atlantic City and we didn’t really know what to expect. The surrounding neighborhood was kind of questionable and we almost didn’t go in, but we went for it and were not disappointed! We had a bottle of local NJ wine and several small plates including the miso octopus, hangar steak, udon mac n cheese, and quinoa. We loved almost everything! We were disappointed with the croquettes because we felt they needed more goat cheese, but otherwise we completely enjoyed the meal. For dessert we had a slice of the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious. Overall great service, good ambiance, and excellent food! We would return!

Hidden gem! Amazing tapas & small plates, great drink selection, intimate & comfortable space. Really interesting menu(including plenty of veggie &GF options) Frankie the bartender was awesome-very helpful & knowledgeable about the menu & wines. Half price night-wine on Wednesdays, Tuesday Whiskey, Thursday beer(I think I got that right lol) there is also happy hour. Hard to find but worth the effort !

Fine dining at this place with your monthly dosage of wine and cheese. small plates of scrumptious food brings back the memory of your last heartbreak because the beers are as cold as your ex. excellent choices of beer and wines here. Their mini-dishes are so delicious and bring out a new part of your self that you didn’t know. *that you can pay so much money for this place* ^only downside, it’s kind of expensive(or it could just be me)

This is easily one of the best meals I’ve had in recent memory. We came into the restaurant a little unsure as the neighborhood isn’t great and you enter through a liquor store but I really can’t recommend this place enough. The staff was knowledgeable, polite, and absolutely killed it with their recommendations. Five star food hands down. If you’re in AC, skip the casino joints with huge price tags and double down on this spot!

Love this place. Always has a unique beer list. Deviled Eggs are magical. The chef is a grumpy fella, but rumor has it if you stick your finger In his belly button he’ll give you a free app. The place gets booked quick. Call ahead to make sure you can get in.

Beautiful décor. Out of sorts area. We circled the place 3 times before realizing we had arrived at our designation. Beer menu was a dream. I started with a smuttynose cherry weisse my husband had a allagash oddysee. We happened in at happy hour so the menu prices were great. First ordered was the crochet and cheese platter. Both were delish. Second beers ordered were 2 allagash adventureax. Our Second happy hour order consisted of Belgium french fries and avacdo toast. Each item ordered were delish no complaints about our food or drinks. We were over charged accidently which wasn’t handled the greatest but all in all and exceptional accidental Saturday adventures find.

Iron Room is off the beat and path but not too far away, so worth a visit. I have to say it is tricky to find though. There is a liquor store in the front of the restaurant, which also acts as an entryway to the restaurant. In addition there is a side door entryway(which is how we entered because we didn’t know the liquor store lead into the restaurant). It is definitely confusing and they need to do a better job advertising. Its easy to miss this place and if I had to bet I am sure many people have just settled on going somewhere else because they didn’t feel like trying to find it. With that being said, the rest of my experience was pleasant. We came in for a late lunch so unfortunately couldn’t experience the entire menu(disappointing) but I thought the food was high quality and tasteful. My friends and I shared a few small plates: the avocado/tomato toast(delicious and hearty), the pulled pork tacos(have a different kind of twang about them but I liked it) and a cheese plate. We added some extra cheeses to our plate for an additional fee, best decision ever. Overall, the food was very good… I am curious to see what the full menu has to offer. To drink I ordered a cabernet(which was good) so I cant really speak about the quality of their cocktails. However, my friend ordered an old fashion and said it wasn’t that great. My other friend ordered some other specialty drink that was served warm in a coffee mug and she wasn’t a fan of that either. Made me feel good about being boring and ordering a wine, I was the only one that really enjoyed my beverage. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, our bartender Eric was especially nice. The overall setting could use some refreshing, I like the dark intimate vibe they have going on but it was dead silent in there. Good thing the staff was talkative or else it would have been awkward. Turn up the music, Iron Bar! Next time I’m in the AC area I would swing by this place to give their full menu a try. Hopefully by then they’ve done some upgrading on advertising where they’re located.

This 5 star rating is based on a whisky/scotch tasting class we went to this past Saturday. AC Bottling Co. has an extensive selection of whisky, scotch, rye and bourbon, but we wouldn’t have been equipped to know how to choose one over another until this class. Our expert instructor, Nick, was very impressive. The tasting consisted of four whiskys from different regions. When he said the class was about an hour and 15 minutes, I thought it sounded long and possibly a little repetitive and boring. Wrong! We were totally immersed in the information and it was a fun experience. We are the type to ask many questions, and Nick was never tripped up for an answer. In fact, he would go beyond our question and tell us more information that was equally entertaining as it was educational. Overall it was a great experience and I’m not even a whisky lover! We finished up at 3:15 which was great timing for the bar to open for a bite to go with our buzz. We enjoyed the food as well, but we ordered off the bar menu. Perhaps one night we will head back to the Iron Room for dinner, but this time we will order our whisky with some precision. Thanks Nick!

Good food and atmosphere. The deviled eggs, bacon and croquettes were very tasty. They also made me a non alcoholic version of one of their cocktails. The host and waitress was very helpful.

Phenomenal, hidden gem! The food was fantastic, unique and delicious. Our waitress, Ashley was pleasant and knowledgable. I almost couldn’t walk out of the door, I was so full. If you come here, order the Mac and cheese, hangar steak, the burger, the bacon. It’s too hard to decide!!!

It’s not even a debate. There is no question. This is 5 star food. If you come to AC often or even if you don’t, you are foolish to eat anywhere else. It’s pointless to name the 6 dishes I had — each one was better than that last. The cheese selection was top shelf! Do we even need to discuss the ridiculous amount of whisky they have or the dozen or so solid craft beers? They have week day specials like half price wine on Wednesday. Seriously though, this place doesn’t need to do any incentives to get people to go here. Now note, it’s a small spot and as you likely heard attached to a good wine store. It’s no where near the boardwalk and if you tried to walk from the casino — well, that’s a bad idea. Drive or cab it. Seriously, don’t be lazy and eat at one of the casinos overpriced disappointing restaurants. Make a reservation. Dining maybe holds 30 max. Key takeaways: small plates that are unbelievable good. Pissed I didn’t order a dozen deviled eggs to go. You can avoid the duck which was priced on high end and although awesome, swap out for two smaller plates. Staff is very friendly and know their stuff. My associate and I both agreed — we will NOT eat anywhere else in AC for dinner ever again except this place. And we mean it. I rarely rave — I even less give out 5 stars. This deserves it. Be sure to go there in the winter. They will need that business to keep going. I will actually drive the 90 minutes when the season comes just to go here.

This place would get 5 stars but for the fact small plates does not equal small bill. two of us ordered 4 smalls — the Quail was our favorite, it was crunchy and juicy on top of a yummy salad with the Udon mac and cheese a close second. We also ordered the Asian Hangar steak and Croquettes, both exceptional but we were still hungry so we ordered a hamburger to top it off. The Drinks were fantastic and the extensive whiskey list had us very excited all adding up to a monumental bill. :) I can’t wait to go back for the bar food menu.

Great place in the back room of a bottle shop that reminds you of one of those great finds in the city that looks like nothing from the outside but is fun and enjoyable inside. We ordered several appetizers and we’re not disappointed. The Duck con Frit(spelling? Sorry) was great! The house specialty drink are very tasty and they have a reasonable selection of craft beer. The only thing to make it better would be more Jersey local beers.

This place just gets it. If you’re looking for an independent restaurant in AC with creative dishes, a well curated drink menu, and an intimate yet casual environment, look no further. In fact, the Iron Room is probably the best restaurant in Atlantic City period. The Food: Small, but hearty, plates. Their best dishes skew on the richer side, so if you’re looking for a light meal this isn’t your place. Udon Mac & Cheese is incredible, the Chefs board is great if you’re with a group, and the Seared Endive with asparagus is an interesting veg dish. Really, though, everything is worth trying. My favorite aspect of the menu is that it is refined enough to satisfy a discerning foodie, but remains approachable for really anyone who enjoys good food. The Drinks: Located within a liquor store, so it goes without saying that they know what they’re doing here. Their beer list is small, but always updated and well selected. The Space: Small but not crowded. Dim lighting gives it a speakeasy-esq feel. The Service: Always friendly and attentive. Overall, a great place to visit if you’re visiting AC — its a bit off the beaten path from the casinos, but worth the trip. If you’re local — you better get there soon — one of the best places in South Jersey

SO much potential, but missed on many fronts. I was looking for a casual, fun place for a small group to eat and came across this place on a Unilocal search. Great ratings and reasonable pricing is always a good recipe. I love bourbon and this place has an amazing selection so I was sold. On first impression I thought that what they advertised in pictures on the website was not what this place was. It was more of a bar with a few tables and big time menu. The selections of alcohol was extensive, but they were out of the first two drink selections a member of our party ordered. The cocktails we finally got were really good so that did make up for what was perhaps not the best server. The menu was creative, the presentation first class, and it would have been excellent, but everything was cold, save for one dish. The place was freezing cold as well, and though we asked for the air to be turned down it wasn’t so we ate dinner with our coats on. Weird considering it was 45 degrees outside. I’m always hot so this isn’t just someone nitpicking. With the ratings where they are I would guess it’s possible they just had an off-night with our party, and if the food had been hot I would have given this place 4 stars. Lots of potential, but they really need a GM or someone to mind the details.

Exceedingly delicious. Outrageous quality and creativity. Chef Cronin is a master. Truffle udon mac & cheese is NUTS… Kentucky fried quail. ridiculous cheese board… ugh. Bar seating is our general preference and here is no different — ANDWEDON’T EVENDRINK! Based SOLELY on the food and service, I confidently give it five stars. It isn’t cheap even if you avoid drinks and that cheese board can empty your wallet pretty fast, but whatever you decide to spend, it will be worth it.

There’s nothing more exciting than eating dinner at the chef’s table — unless of course, it’s at the chef’s table at a winery, complete with wine to complement every course. The Iron Room has close to 450 wines, 200 bourbons and whiskeys, and 90 craft beers, a lot of which are actually distilled in New Jersey. The owners are dedicated to it(and are New Jerseyians themselves). We had a four course meal of endive salad, foie gras with a french brioche toast, truffle honey, and peach jam(which was INCREDIBLE), a delicious korean hanger steak with brussel sprouts, and a salted caramel chocolate flourless cake. The owners and chef are very much a part of the restaurant and store, and make the trip very worthwhile.

Most amazing meal ever Small place Restaurant behind wine shop. Maybe 20 covers tops. Fantastic attention to detail There were 4 of us for dinner and we had some ample choices Cold plates Started with the cheese plate and it had 3 delicious cheeses — a cheddar, blue and manchego– and nice assortment of dried figs and apricots. Amazing fig spread also. Charcuterie included nice assortment of salami, prosciutto’s and some great pâtés Tuna crudo– love tuna perfectly seasoned. Delicious. Steak tartare. Hands down best dish of the night. Probably one of my top versions ever Hot plates — well my friend still talking about the chicken and waffle. Light coating. Not greasy. And the lavender sauce. Omg grreeaatt Burger — perfect. One of the better burgers I’ve had Petite omelet if you like caviar this is for you. I happen to love. Duck — well. It’s not often you get well seasoned moist duck this hit the mark. Desert was flour less choco cake mmmm for the chocolate lover perfection. Partners has crème brûlée was perfectly crisped. Awesome meal. Cannot wait to return.
