Wow! There was so much to like about Ray’s. They sure know how to take care of their customers. First of all, the main reason you go eat BBQ is for the BBQ and they have that covered. I ordered the pork plate and asked if they had a 2 meat. The lady asked me how many ribs I wanted and put then on the plate. She charged for each rib but most BBQ places don’t do that. The ribs were juicy and tender. They also had their own homemade BBQ sauce on it. This sauce was ketchup and vinegar based with a peppery taste. It had a little spice to it but most people would be able to handle it. My pork was tender, moist, juicy, and seasoned really well. The sauce that came on it was a heavy ketchup based with a lot of chopped onions in it. Ray’s has had this sauce since they first opened in 1969. Their 2BBQ sauces I have never had any like them anywhere else. Potato salad was a blend of mustard and miracle whip. It was really easy and light on the taste. Baked beans definitely had brown sugar thrown in to give it a sweet taste. The owner sat down and talked with me about the whole meal and at the end, he gave me a chocolate pie on the house. Oh, it was some of the best chocolate pie I’ve ever had as it had a milk chocolate filling with whipped cream on top. Did I mention my customer service was excellent! The owner said when I walked in that I would be back and he was right. I will look forward to going back to Ray’s soon.

Fantastic BBQ and even better staff and owner(Tim Jackson). The friendliest crew I’ve encountered in restaurant industry in a long time. As for the food, it was delicious, I went simple and did pork plate — ask for the owner’s BBQ sauce along with the house’s sauce. The homemade pork rinds are phenomenal as well. Worth the stop or even a side trip if you’re in the area.

I would eat the McRib at McDonalds before I would eat here again. Charged me extra for sauce. Jay P must be a friend(or owner has some dirty pics of him) to say fantastic bbq. In summary, BBQ was horrible.

Had a pulled pork sandwich and some onion rings. Definitely not the best BBQ I’ve had, but it was so much better to someone traveling through than the other options of McDonalds or Taco Bell.
