This is a brand new hotel in Auburn right off I-85 and exit 51. We stayed here while visiting our daughter in college and this is a very nice hotel. Different from other Courtyard Hotels that I have stayed at, and I have stayed at tons of them, it is decorated more upscale. The lobby is comfortable with oversized chairs and nice lounging chairs in front of TVs. The Bistro area is very nice with lots of seating and the infamous bar area. Because it is a new hotel, just opened about two months now, everything is nice and clean and Marriott will do well to keep it this way. The rooms and hallways are very nice. We stayed in a King suite and the space was comfortable. With modern furniture and a big comfy bed, we enjoyed the space. The pillows are softer than I would have liked, so I would recommend getting former ones. There is also 2 TVs in the room, which can be a bit annoying since the space is not large, and with 2 TVs going at the same time is distracting. There is also a small refrigerator, a microwave and a coffee maker in the room, which is a good thing if staying more than 1 – 2 nights. If I could ask this property to improve on it would be the staff at the Bistro. When I walked up to the counter, the women there were just looking at me. There was no greeting, I actually had to speak to them first instead of being greeted by them. There is also not much to eat on College Rd, which is the road that leads to the hotel property; however, there is plenty to eat a few miles up on later exits. Overall, I give this hotel 5 stars because it is new and should be at 5 stars right now. The property is clean and the staff at check in were very nice.
