TWODOLLARTACOS no matter what kind of meat you want. And this is everyday, lunch and dinner. You don’t have to wait until Tuesday for a good deal. Their tacos all come dressed with chopped onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. They have a salsa bar on the side which features freaking spicy salsa but really good. The quesadillas are huge and on point. The nachos are also really big but the cheese is weird. It’s definitely not something I’m used to. But back to the tacos, get the barbacoa, al pastor, chicken, and lengua.

I previously rated this place a 5 but have revised my rating to a 3 based on my two most recent experiences. When we first discovered this place in 2013, we loved it. Best tacos in Auburn. Affordable price and plenty of filling. Having recently returned to the area, we were looking forward to coming back. Sadly, things are not what they once were. Perhaps they changed their recipes because things are not as flavorful as they once were. I used to love the chicken taco but it is now missing that special flavor from being marinated in lime juice. Similarly, the al pastor, carne asada, and chorizo tacos are now lacking flavor. Of all of the ones they have, the carnitas tacos are probably the best right now. I hope they go back to their original recipes because they were fantastic.

Best tacos in Auburn. Everything I’ve had from here has been really good, and the prices are cheap. $ 2 for a taco with a healthy portion of meat on it. I’ve been all over the country and had plenty of tacos, and this is a quality place. Staff is really friendly and helpful as well. There might be somewhat of a wait, but it’s worth it. Seriously, go here! I can’t recommend it enough.

Durango has the best Mexican food in Auburn hands down. They have a wide variety of meats and the salsa is excellent. Prices unbeatable. I eat at this place twice a week. Will you be discriminated against? Not at all. But realize that they have a large following and so people like me call in there orders which is why some people get served first. It’s a bit slow but worth the wait.

Along with La Plaza, the best food around.

We heard about this place from our international friends. It was not your typical American version of a Mexican restaurant. Mama is in the back cookin’. The chicken on the grill was VERY good along with salad, tottileas and beans. They cheerfully made a special order chicken quesadilla and it was good too. Most authentic around.

Excellent and AUTHENTIC Mexican food in Auburn Alabama. I live in San Diego California and travel frequently throughout Baja California and Mexico. I’ve eaten fish tacos in Ensenada, home of the fish taco. I’m so happy to have found this place using my Unilocal ap. Forget the other Mexican places in Auburn, unless you like Mexican food overloaded with spices. For fresh delicious Mexican food with flavor, come here.

Great authentic food with a fantastic salsa bar. Pollo Pastor tacos were wonderful as was the Barbacoa. My wife loved the carnitas and asada — both were loaded with meat. Décor is what it is. Definitely a place you go for the food. Good service and friendly people. Will go back and try it all!

No frills, great food, great value authentic Mexican taqueria. Sits at the corner of a strip shopping center in a re-purposed fast food space. Killer $ 2 tacos in all configurations you desire with chicken, barbacoa, fish, steak, and other protein choices. Great salsa bar toppings available in multiple flavors and potencies. I had the quesadilla which was impressively plated and large portioned. Excellent. Minimalistic dining room with C-store atmosphere. Bottled Mexican sodas. This will be a regular stop for us.

My experience was nothing like past negative reviews; they were very nice, offered to help explain menu items, and the menu is in both Spanish and English. The portions are huge– definitely not what I was expecting given the prices which are a steal

Excellent. Everything here is good. Love the salsa bar as well with many different flavors to choose from. Yes you will be discriminated against if you are not Hispanic but who cares. Not everyone has to like you. I have cravings for this place. It does take a while for food to be cooked so I do not recommend for a quick lunch. But overall 10 stars. Absolutely great food experience.

Came here to eat as I am in the area for a few days. Waited about 15 minutes and no workers were there or asked for my order. A large group of Hispanic people walked in right after me and the lady came out and took their order. Horrible customer service. I will not be coming here again, also it smells questionable.

This is an authentic Mexican place. It might be a little hard to order because the main menu is in Spanish, but you can always ask if you don’t know what something is. They have a lot of meat choices and also serve fish. I got two tacos to go and it took about 10 – 15 minutes. While I was waiting, I went into the adjoining Mexican store and looked around and that was really interesting. I hope to go back soon. You should also try their other location called La Plaza on S. College by Winn-Dixie and Panda Express.

Okay… So I called for reservations(because I’m not from Auburn and I was just trying to get a place for dinner for 10). They took my reservations but failed to tell me this was a FASTFOOD place. I feel dumb, yes, but I also think it would have been nice if they told me they weren’t that kind of restaurant… Just saying.

Why didn’t I try this place sooner? Finally, real Mex food in Auburn. They even have lengua tacos. Have had their lengua and fish tacos. They are excellent! Their carnitas are great, too. Think I will have to go there today.

This is my favorite restaurant in Auburn, and the best Mexican food I’ve found in the US. As one reviewer noted, sometimes the wait can be a bit long, but that’s understandable when the place is crowded, given it’s small size. Other times the food comes out quite quickly, and the staff is always very friendly. The good is fantastic and very authentic. Also, the portions are quite generous. All the meats that function as fillings are fantastic, from chicken and steak to more exotic options like lengua or cabeza. If you want authentic but not ‘weird’ I suggest you stay away from boring chicken and go with carnitas, chorizo, and al pastor(in fact for your first time here I’d order one taco of each of those meats). The tacos, burritos, tortas and quesadillas are all fantastic but don’t be afraid to try the plates or stews either. And if you aren’t sure what something is, just ask. Also make sure you try some Jaritos mexi-soda while you’re waiting, and use salsa/green sauce liberally. Enjoy!

Definitely my favorite sit-down Mexican place in Auburn. This is a great place to come, enjoy some good conversation, and enjoy some good authentic Mexican food. Big fan of the standards(Quesadillas, Tacos, Burritos, etc), but they also do a lot of the harder to find Mexican specialties that you won’t find easily anywhere else. I’ve honestly never found the wait to be an issue(generally never in a hurry eating there), but I know they’re making the meal fresh and that takes time. The only people I’ve ever taken there that weren’t satisfied made comparisons to Taco Bell or Laredos, so you can draw your conclusions there… I felt it was similar to taking someone to a very nice steakhouse and having them complain that it isn’t like Applebees… Aside from that, I’ve gotten to know the family from the many times I go and they’re always very happy to see me and chat. Definitely a good local small business worth supporting!

I had to wait at least 30 minutes for my quesadillas. Luckily the cashier allowed me to customize my large quesadilla to incorporate half-pork and half-asada. There may have not been enough cheese. However, during that 30 minutes, they have a little market and grocery store-like aisles ito explore. They sell a variety of Mexican meats, produce items, little trinkets like candles and authentic imported products. I also found Luigi and Hello Kitty pinatas. The employees running the market are very friendly. The store may seem kind of dirty but the bathrooms are abnormally spotless.
