Encore Music Center

Walked in after a few years absence and Owner Larry addressed me by name and was helpful regarding my desire to join or start up a ukulele group so thanks, Larry. I asked a few questions from the helpful staffer and received good information given in a friendly manner. I have purchased my dobro-​style and tenor ukes at Encore and my original soprano and I’ve been pleased with product/​service, highly recommended.

Great shop, great customer service! I was in a bind and needed sound gear, Larry took care of me. Im not sure they technically have a ’ rental ’ dept per say, but he made it happen, much to my appreciation. Its nice to have a local shop that puts customers 1^st!

My relationship with this business started out fine, but I feel it is improving.
I’ve never had any complaints, but as they’ve gotten to know me they’ve been more helpful and that has encouraged me to come back more often.
I’ve made only a couple major instrument purchases there, and I am very happy with both. Since moving to Auburn in 2009 I have relied on Encore exclusively for many small purchases like drum keys, guitar strings, tuners, batteries, mic clip, etc.
I love Encore very much. Like any good music shop, your experience improves as your relationship with the shopkeepers grows. Good guys, good stuff, good prices, lots of love for local musicians. If they don’t have it, they can get it for you. Local is the way to go and these guys do it right.

All three of my sons took lessons there and they are the best. Let’s see… Drum lessons, Electric Guitar lessons, & Base lessons. No matter what you want to play they can teach them. WOW. We’ve also had guitar repairs done there as well and they alway’s give great service. Larry, Johnny, Paul, & Marc are the best. ROCK ON!!!

I’m a self taught beginner guitar player, I have never bought a guitar from Encore, yet. I take my guitars to Encore and have always come out with the guitar repaired in a very short time, a couple times «no charge». I’ve had everything explained when they do the repair and can do it myself in the future. I buy strings, picks, capos, and many other items, I usually spend less than $ 50 every visit but they treat me as if I just bought new gear for a whole band. Good, personal service go to Encore in Auburn, service from a gauge wearing, pierced teenager with a «i don’t really give a fu*k» attitude go to Guitar Center in Rocklin. I give Matt C. a one star rating.

I trust all my guitar work to Larry and his crew at Encore. They have worked on all my guitars for years and Larry is very knowledgeable about anything you need to know about guitars. I’ve never had a question he couldn’t answer. I’ve had some very questionable service on more than one occasion at Guitar Center, so I’d much rather support a local small business like Encore.

In a world where customer service is non existent, this music store stands out way above the rest.
Here you have a top notch musician as the owner. And a knowledge bank about music and musical instruments that would rival wikipedia!
And if you don’t see it in the store that doesn’t mean they can’t get it.
Excellent prices and quality!

I am sorry someone gave this local store a 1star review: his complaint being they don’t stock high end stuff.
Really? In a town of 15,000 i don’t think that’s a valid criticism. While Auburn certainly has more than it’s fair share of musicians, I don’t see how a store could survive with just high end merchandise. Besides, I’ve seen plenty of wonderful instuments on the floor, and they are always willing to order if you don’t see what you want in stock. Their stock is all over the place– low end to high end. One thing I know, too: they will not steer you to a high priced instrument if it’s not right for you. They really know their instruments. My kids have tried several string instruments over the years, and we have always been very happy with what we have gotten from encore. They even let my teenagers try the REALLY expensive equipment just to get a feel and hear what beautiful tones sound like. Anyone who trusts teens around a drum kit is either really stupid or incredibly intelligent (cause they know we’ll be saving up for that kit!)
Oh, and I’ve shopped around: they are ALWAYS cheaper than anyplace I’ve checked down the hill.
Great value for musical rentals, sales, and service (yes they’ve done repairs for us too. On the spot. Minutes before a concert!) great vibe. Perfect local merchant experience. If every shopping experience was this pleasant we’d be a calmer, kinder, gentler nation…

Larry, Paul, Johnny & Co are all great guys. The staff is very knowledgeable, and as a matter of fact, Larry is known as «The Answer Guy». Ask the guy anything about anything and he’ll give you an answer and I assure you it’s spot on. Excellent selection of gear for just about every level of player. Everyone that works there has real world experience in the music industry, so when they tell you about something or demonstrate something, it comes from legit experience, and not just buzz words read in some pamphlet.
This store is not only focused on helping you purchase the right thing for you, but it is focused on building lasting relationships.

The staff is always super friendly and helpful. Even gave us an amazing deal on a Taylor.

I’ve never been able to find anything at this store… we always end up at Guitar Center in Rocklin because Larry doesn’t stock the high-​end professional audio lines that my company uses. If you’re an «entry level» musician, you will find plenty of budget (low quality) sound equipment.

The staff here rocks.
I love this little music store.
We have had multiple instruments repaired here, bought tons of gear and they are always helpful and knowledgeable.
If you are a repeat customer they recognize it.
Definitely recommend going to this store if you need something, if they don’t have it they’ll order it.

This is my favorite musical armories in any driveable distance! The staff is very knowledgable about their product and they will let you try any guitar you want for as long as you want. I have bought all of my musical instruments here and I would reccommend this place to any rising musician.
