Beautiful Camping. Sites are big and well wooded, lots of coverage so you don’t feel right on top of your neighbor. We camped on a lot with a pad. It was almost perfectly level. This made it an absolute delight to set up our trailer. Bathrooms were clean and well cared for. Showers had hot water and good pressure. There were lots of trails to walk our dogs. We didn’t partake in the beach portion so I can’t attest to that area. The only downside is when it rained. The sites become big ponds. Several of the tents that had been set up the night before the rain had left by morning. I can’t hardly blame them, if I woke up in a puddle I would be out of their before dawn. I think a lot of the problem may have been that it had rained for day(s) prior. I’m not sure if it would be that bad had the ground not been that saturated. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone with a trailer. Tent camping as long as the weather is rain free would be great. Some of the higher sites might be okay with tents but it’s hard to tell which ones of those are which via the reservation website.

i don’t camp. never have. the gf does. and her and her fam have foreves. This place will make you a camper. and the single track mountain biking trails are incredibly technical and as challenging as the Midwest will allow. Go. Go and go again.

Was denied an annual pass because I do not have Michigan plates on my car, even though we own property a few miles from the park, pay property taxes on it, pay gas tax on our gasoline and sales taxes on other purchases. The pavement has been removed from the entrance road to discourage motorcycles. There are other places to go for recreation that do not discriminate against non residents.
