it takes about 50 minutes to be seated even if you have made a reservation prior to arriving. another 40 – 50 minutes to wait for a chef to arrive and from there you have to wait for everyones food to be cooked. if youre planning on eating dinner here, have lots and lots of patience. also the tables were not throughly cleaned. there were remaining traces of rice and food cooked prior us being seated. the cups with our drinks were sticky and did not look clean whatsoever.
Fujiyama’s is hands down my favorite place to get sushi. I have never had a bad experience here. The food is always extremely fresh. The staff are wonderful and genuinely care how you feel. I go in there and they know exactly what I want! And they always have wonderful recommendations. Love this place.

I love this restaurant! By far my favorite place to eat in Augusta. I love their seaweed salad, volcano roll, and sushi roll. The food and service is always excellent!

Wait was long, seating was tight. Definitely in need of an update. Food was good but sushi chef was not accommodating with substitutions. I’m on the fence about returning, maybe to convince the owner to let me help update

Absolute best hibachi in town! Simply put — low prices, fantastic taste and quality, great chefs who are genuinely funny, and the sushi kicks ass. I’ve been eating here for YEARS and have literally never had a bad experience. It may not be as fancy as some of the other places in town, but the food is better, the waits are shorter, and the prices are lower. You absolutely will not regret coming here.

I have eaten the Hibachi at Fujiyama twice! This place has been packed both times I’ve been here which may be a good sign that they have good food. I also went to Miyako earlier this week and we were the only hibachi diners in there when we arrived… and that place sucked compared to the show you get at Fujiyama. The restaurant itself does appear a bit dated, but the bathrooms looked nice and the place makes some dang good food. I also love the little water fountain and bridge outside. The waitresses can be a little slow and it seems like the hostess girls sit around and don’t do much except talk with each other at times, but the place overall is good. Our chef was always joking and doing tricks here, which wasn’t the case at Miyako, so I was pleased in that regard. The first time I went here, I got the white fish and chicken hibachi entrée which was delicious. The white sauce… I could eat it by the gallon! I didn’t care much for the whitefish as I thought it was kind of bland, but the chicken is super tasty and is cooked with a flavorful sauce. Both times I’ve been here though, the chef cart hasn’t been properly stocked as the first time, they forgot my chicken and the most recent time, they forgot my aunt’s steak. Still, the issue was quickly resolved and didn’t inconvenience us. Overall, I love Fujiyama and would return. Great hibachi, but I haven’t tried their sushi!

Been here several times great place to grab some Hibachi and Sushi. The Chefs are also very entertaining, even in the middle the day.

So first impression was okay this place might not be that great and boy was i wrong. Let me say this, my husband and I have high standards for our sushi coming from California. This place was on par with some of our favorites. We were seated right away and our server Jennie took our drink orders quickly as well. She was a good sport with my husbands joking too. She was attentive and even went out of her way to get us a side salad with out dressing so we could feed our turtles when we got back to the hotel. She alone gets 5 stars. We ordered the Love Boat for 2 and it was massive! The chef Danny i believe went above and beyond on this thing. The squid salad was by far the best I’ve had. The cuts of sashimi were huge and delicious. He accommodated my food allergies without batting an eyelash. Not often do i get chefs who will make the changes and still serve us with as much kindness as he did. He also gets 5 stars. I would totally recommend this place even if your just passing through like us.

Nasty! We had a decent waitress but beyond that this place is nasty, shrimp over cooked, chicken under cooked. Manager from Panama could care less! Will not be returning!

The food was great… the portions were great. Not the best entertainment we have seen. The place is pretty run down and dirty. :(

Service was slow — took more than an hour just to get seated and our orders in at the hibachi grill. The options were very inflexible. At other nearby hibachi restaurants like Miyako, we are able to switch out fried rice for double veggies but Fujiyama didn’t allow that. The veggies were dry(I felt bad for our vegetarian friend who got the vegetable hibachi entrée).

Ok so the inside needa some serious renovations. And the bathrooms need proper and regular cleaning. Food was ok to good. Probably wouldn’t come back. Just nothing ‘special’ about it

Why the bad reviews? I love this place, my family & I have been coming here for the past couple of years. Get the hibachi, it’s always funny & entertaining! I usually get the chicken and steak hibachi; it comes with rice & vegetables. Always cooked to perfection! Great service every time I come. The sushi is a must here! It is absolutely amazing. Their lunch specials are cheap compared to other Japanese restaurants. Dinner time is a little bit pricy, but what other Japanese restaurant dinner time menus aren’t? Lol!

This place was awesome. I’m not sure how many people get up to Augusta Georgia, but as I was there for business and had just spent 6.5 hours in the car, I wanted something other than fast food. It was me and 4 co-workers, one of which had never been to a Japanese steakhouse and sat at the hot table. Our chef was friendly and easy-going. He joked with us, and when I told him my co-worker was afraid of getting a shrimp thrown at him, took it to heart and joked the rest of the evening. Our chef did the onion volcano, and when he got to the rice, he actually flipped a ball of it right in my co-worker’s open mouth. It was hilarious!!! In the end, it was an enjoyable meal, fun, and I had tons of leftovers. I highly recommend this place.

I had a terrible experience at Fujiyamas The second you walk in the place looks old and smells musty. The hostess and the waitresses were rude and unhelpful. All three separate meals that were ordered came 20 min. apart. A friend of mine ordered a combination plate and it was severely lacking in flavor. And the restaurant wanted him to pay for it even though he didn’t eat it.(He walked out and meal remained unpaid) I ordered sushi which wasn’t bad but it was so poorly prepared when I tried to pick it up it fell apart. The one redeeming quality was our kind waiter Brandon who wasn’t even credited on the bill. I hope he got his tip

This is a very nice, solid restaurant. I have been coming here for about two years, I go maybe once a month and just pick up some sushi or something for takeout. I have not been here for the hibachi. The décor is nice, if a bit dated. They usually have a couple of drink specials based on the day of the week, and it looks like it would be a fun place to come for hibachi, as it seems like they have a bunch of different rooms, which seems like it would be a bit more private, as opposed to a huge room with random grills set everywhere. I always call in, and the staff are friendly, the service is quick and reliable. The sushi itself is good, they have a few rolls that are delicious, my favorite is probably the sweet potato tempura roll. Surprisingly delicious! Worth checking out!

We are new in the area and we’ve noticed that there are plenty of japanese/hibachi restaurant around here. It is hard to choose which one so we relied on what the reviews say. We had the california roll(wasn’t too impressed) and the combinations plate that includes(steaks, prawns, fried rice with vegetables and soup) all taste very GOOD. The free salad was okay. Try a different dressing but NOT the thousand island. Our server is very friendly and attentive. They have a parking area so you don’t have to worry about that but could be busy during the weekend. They also offer 15% military discount which we didn’t knew until our server asked us. We are definitely going back!
