Home cooking… everything is fresh…3.75 absolutely! AJ was great at explaining all the dishes.

This is a very cute family owned business, with excellent food and friendly service! We’ve been there two times now and tried the berber chicken tagine, kofta tagine, lemon chicken tagine and mediterranean tagine. Each dish is made fresh so it takes some time but its worth the wait as all have been very good. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic Moroccan food with a home cooked feel. However, since its a mom n pop type of place, don’t expect a fancy dining establishment.

I’ve giving 5 stars on the basis of our first(but not last) visit. My wife and I had lunch and both had a great experience. She had the lamb tagine and I had the chicken/kefta kebab platter. Everything on our plates was excellent. We really liked all the small touches, like the excellent home made hummus, the jalepeno chutney, and the small, light potato pancakey things. It is a husband and wife business and the care they put into the food really shows. By the way, the food is actually cooked for you, so don’t expect to sit down, order lamb tagine, and have it served in a few minutes. But the wait is definitely worth it.

This tiny hole in the wall serves delicious food! I have been there twice, first trying the ‘sampler platter’ and then the lemon chicken which I got to go. My daughter had the Kefta Tagine and then the Mediterranean Tagine. Everything was amazing, including the friendliness of the owner A.J. and the fascinating video on Morocco which played on a loop on the TV. Prices are moderate, servings are large. There is no ambiance, but it doesn’t matter because the food is so good. Even though the place is so plain and small, I enjoyed the food more when eaten at the location rather than reheated at home… but, it was still great!

I ordered the Berber Tagine to go, and thought it was delicious. The chicken was tender and cooked well and the vegetables were very tasty. I had hummus and pita on the said, and that was very tasty as well. Quite satisfied! The owner, A.J. was very friendly, explained all of the dishes they offer and we chatted at length about his home country. It was my first time there and I plan on stopping in again soon.

My fiancé, and I were severely disappointed in our visit here. We started with the zaalouk based on rave reviews we had heard from a friend, but it was like no zaalouk I have ever tasted. We would not recommend it. I had the chicken couscous, which I would rate as OK. Couscous was fairly bland, and the chicken was extremely greasy with no flavor. My fiancé order the mixed kabobs, which consisted of chicken and beef. The chicken was pretty dry and the beef, which is a ground beef ball, was lacking in flavor. It was served with hummus and these little potato patties on the side. I love hummus but had a hard time eating the hummus they served. I did enjoy the potato patties, but am not going to frequent a restaurant for one side that was good. Needless to say, we will not be going back here.

Wow, what a severe disappointment! First we attempted to go about two weeks ago on a Sunday, got there at noon. NOONEHOME! Apparently they changed the hours, but not on the menu or the website. Tried calling several times today with no answer. I did get a call back about 2 hours later saying they were open… odd since I didn’t leave a message as YOUCOULDN’T. When we got there tonight there was one other table finishing up and our table of 4. We were told that any entrée on the menu would take between 20 – 25 minutes. Well, OK… but did not expect the two lemonades and the two fresh mint teas(only ¾ full) would take 15 minutes. I guess it took time to mix up the Countrytime Lemonade mix. Don’t expect couscous unless it is Friday. Why would you at a Moroccan restaurant? The Mediterranean Tajine consisted of what tasted like decent pre-cooked chicken(A leg and thigh) with 6 prunes, a small handful of almonds and a sweet glaze slopped on right before being tossed under a broiler. Nothing else. At least the Oven Roasted Lemon-Chicken(obviously cooked the same way with a different sauce) came with a serving of rice. Possibly the best part of the meal. After finishing the meal hungry and disappointed I spoke with the owner that said the restaurant woes were because he has had such an OVERWHELMING response since he opened 5 months prior. Really? In a nutshell, it’s a concept caught between a stripmall and what it could be if the décor and food were better. Good luck. Maybe someone else can take this idea and make it work better.

This is a true family owned restaurant. The food is good. It cooked fresh because it takes for ever for you food to get ready. This is not a quick pick up place. The food is fresh and warm. Service is ok. Defenitely worth trying out

I wanted to check this place out for a while but they are not open during posted business hours much of the time. When I did make it in, I feel that they still weren’t open. The man was on a computer and he had to finish an email before he helped me out. I wanted to get a few dishes to try to give this place an accurate rating. I placed my order and the man disappeared. For like 20 minutes. I stood there in an empty restaurant waiting. I was about to walk out a few times but then I would hear a pan crash or the man yelling at a woman. After 20 minutes the food came out and I paid and I was on my way. I was promised that it was the best in Naperville city, even though the place is in Aurora. Way. Got the food home and dug in. First dish was the specialty Berber Tagine. This was a chicken dish loaded with olives. It was ok. The chicken fell off the bone, in an overcooked type of way. The dish was overwhelmed with the taste of green olives. Then we had the Veggie combo. There were three dishes with this. The one I liked was the hummus. It was grainy and had some texture to it. Some hummus has the consistency of mayo, but I liked this one. Then there was the Zaalouk. It was ok. I wasn’t crazy about the taste of the eggplant. It was a little on the bitter side. The best thing we had was the Maakouda. These were these potato pancakes that were pretty amazing. The pita bread tasted like the stuff you buy from the store. Fresh baked makes a big difference. All in all the service was not good, the food was ok. The Maakouda is the star of the show. I would recommend another Moroccan place in the area but there are none. So I guess this is the best place in Napervi… I mean Aurora.

I was definitely happy that I stopped in to try this place. My husband and I go to the chiropractor right now door and he recommended trying the food here, and it was really good. I got the lemon chicken tagine and my husband got the vegetarian sampler. My chicken was awesome, falling right off the bone. It came with french fries, which were ok, but I think I was jealous of the delicious potato pancakes that came in the vegetarian platter. The platter had potato pancakes with this really different and delicious flavor, some eggplant, some hummus(you can tell it’s freshly made), and a salad. I also had a really good lentil soup that was surprisingly creamy. The flavors of everything were really interesting and well developed. I had never had Moroccan food before, but if it tastes like this, I will be happy to keep visiting. The only downsides I’d say would be that the place is obviously small and meant for carry out, so it might be better to get the food to go. I felt a little odd being in there by ourselves. Not a big deal though. And many of the menu items either take a long time to cook or are only available certain days, so calling ahead with your food in mind or going on a certain day is a good idea. We ended up picking items available that day that didn’t take as long.

Stopped in over the weekend. The food was great. It is more of a carry-out business but there are tables if you want to dine in. The owner was very friendly and took his time to make sure we understood what to expect. Will definitely go back.
