This poor rating is in reference to rudeness by the clerk. I noticed a couple charges by «AAA News» on my bank account and had no idea what they were for. I asked my wife, and she wasn’t sure what they would be. I called AAA to ask about the charges, and after a couple minutes dealing with the rude clerk, he mentioned«adult items», I figured out what had happened. Turns out, my wife went with one of her friends to AAA News to buy something«fun» for our anniversary, but didn’t remember the name of the place. No big deal, really. So I told the clerk I now knew what the charges were for, and thanks for the help. He responds in an aggressive, condescending tone: «Come on, man. Next time do a little research before you go calling up a place asking about charges!» Excuse me? If I see unfamiliar charges on my bank account, I am going to call the business to inquire about the charges. I wasn’t accusing the clerk or the store of anything, I was just trying to figure out where the charges came from. The clerk needs to learn how to talk to customers without attitude.

Incredible selection of normal magazines and reading materials(non-porn), a good selection of alt. magazines showing a very large tolerance for diversity(yeah!). Really, I sometimes shop at AAA News for legitimate news sources! This is a newsstand that really includes lots of interesting magazines in every possible hobby, special interest, and political bent. Free speech LIVES and BREATHES here. But they also offer a HUGE number of porn DVD’s, and their selection of porn is also first-rate. They can even look up a title and the staff tries to locate it for you(something Dreamers can’t really do). Any kind of porn, in all kinds of form factors(DVD, books, magazines, everything). Excellent selection of sex toys and marital aids, though frankly their markup on lube and on sex toys is a little too high(the same can be said for Taboo, though, and Planet K’s sex toys are outdated and are not merchandised well). This isn’t Good Vibrations or Babes in Toyland(Bay Area of California), but its the best in Austin. The largely male, Tejano(Tex-Mex) staff are sort of friendly. Not full of jollies and smiling, but efficient and pleasant, and respectful. I like that. They are helpful in searches and give off NO bad vibes if you’re looking for unusual materials. Professional. I gave them an extra star because AAA News is on the forefront of fighting for our rights and our liberty. Sidney G. is a superstar of liberty and freedom, apparently. Big props for that in a town full of wimps. Store is clean and bright — not especially romantic or couples friendly, but clean and neat, and that’s a great start. I wish they would offer: a more romantic, classier environment. Book readings and book and film signings. Sex toy teach-ins and charity events. Sex education lectures(not porn, but rather informational). I wish they would offer some head shop items so I can just shop at AAA News and not at Planet K, actually. I am GLAD they don’t offer fap booths like the Megaplex down south … um, that’s disgusting IMHO. Highly recommended.

A plethora of porn. They’ve got isles and isles of DVDs and magazines… as well as a ‘square’ section of magazines(i.e. Texas Monthly and Vogue). The real reason to come here(heh) would be the surprisingly good selection of sex toys, lubes and novelties. The lingerie selection isn’t stellar, but you may find something cheap that catches your(or your boyfriends) eye. They’ve even got a few higher end dildos & vibes, and even some bondage gear. Not exactly a couples paradise, but it didn’t seem too terribly seedy. Check em out, and gear up for some erotic adventures!
