This ice cream is amazing, the Mexican Vanilla specifically will change your life :) The location is super convenient and there’s always good«people watching» to be done. So why the 3 stars, when the ice cream is so «life changing»? The service :/Those little arrogant, rude teenagers taking your order ruin it!

I just had a horrible lunch experience at the Central Market Café. But no worries. Amy’s is always there to make your inner fat kid sparkle like diamonds in the sky.

Amy’s is awesome! Not only is the ice cream delicious, but the staff is very friendly. The rotational flavors are always changing and fun to try.

We have a mixed of rocky road and sweat cream covered by nuts. It is wonderful. Haven’t had such a good ice cream for a long time.

I’m partial to delicious desserts, so this gets a 5⁄5. Or 6⁄6. It’s too early and I can’t… yes, it’s 5 stars I see. Went last night with the wife — she was hoping for their«seasonal» chocolate hazelnut ice cream…(«seasons» seem to mean«whatever we feel like at the time»). Luckily, one of the«seasonals» was Custard Doughnut(What?).(Actually spelled«Custard Doughut» on the board as my wife noticed — misspelling or a secret message to The Illuminati?, we do not know). But it was delicious. I got two scoops on a waffle cone. Then the Ice Cream Artist(how do you phrase this?) told me the doughnut pieces were from a local bakery(he named it, can’t remember) — and they chop it in. This is one of the great things about Austin — this cross-cultural-cross-business natural environment. They didn’t chop in Sara Lee donuts from 1987, is what I’m saying. Local. Look, this place is great, lines can be long(even at 9PM on a Sunday night) but the people are friendly, the ice cream is always fresh, delicious, and they always have standards like Belgian Chocolate, so although my wife PROMISED not to eat my one scoop Custard Doughnut/one scoop Belgian Chocolate, I didn’t get a chance to eat much of the Belgian — the wife had«a taste» and it went from there… I’ll be back… again… and again… P. I looooove Amy’s! This location is shared with a cute burger spot called Phil’s Icehouse, which made for plenty of seating and a lively, retro-feel atmosphere. Knocked ‘em down a star because the guy scooping wasn’t very friendly(to me or the guy that was working with him). However, the flavor I chose — Cop Stop, which is coffee ice cream with chunks of glazed donut throughout — is something I’m still dreaming about. Can’t wait to go back to Amy’s on my next Austin trip!

Delicious!!! Staff was so fun and peppy! I had the brownie sundae with dark chocolate ice cream and hot fudge. It was lethal in a good way! Usually a brownie at an ice cream place is not that good but their brownies are from their bakery and it was to die for!

In my opinion this is the greatest ice cream out there. Super creamy and always a lot of great flavors. The workers are friendly /pretty quirky and it’s just a fun experience. It’s an Austin thing, but it’s in the top 3 things about Austin if you ask me.

Mix Cold Stone ice cream with a little Texas flare and you get Amy’s ice cream. Supple, rich, sweet, and creamy, Amy’s serves good ice cream complete with choices that include a little alcohol(bonus points awarded!). I did enjoy my «Cop Stop» — coffee flavored ice cream with chunks of donut — and of course, I had to add a kitkat bar on top just to sweeten the treat even more. I really had my eye on one of their combos or special sundaes, but sadly they ran out of Mexican Vanilla by the time we got there. And from the looks of the customer in front of and behind me, that is really the flavor that stands out. Friendly staff, but consider adding one more person to the roster, because even the line does not move as quickly as it should.

would love to go to 4.5 for the delicious Amy’s. the energetic scooper creator of my ice cream cup kindly suggested the Mexican Vanilla(which somehow noone had suggested in my previous outings) and it was creamy deliciousness(also my 90’s r & b stage name). i always get peanut butter cups in mine and decided to go crazy and throw in rainbow sprinkles and cookie dough this time! i’m wild and my mouth and belly were rewarded for such craziness. p. s. saw poster advertising their birthday cakes and will be requesting the peanut butter cup ice cream cake for my upcoming birth celebration.

Love this place! They have so many changing options and flavors. I love the sweet cream ice cream. They’re always friendly, prompt, and hand out samples like nobody’s business. I’m not the hugest fan of the froyo, hence the 4 stars. I prefer froyo to ice cream and this has a grainy texture. Both locations I’ve been to are super convenient… SOCO location is smack in the middle of shopping, and the Ben White location has a huge parking lot out front. The SOCO location is walk up and doesn’t provide seats, FYI!

Ice cream you scream we all love ice cream! Yes! Really I am so generic and one of my favorite foods is with out a doubt ice cream. I love it and wish i could eat it all the time. I unfortunately live in a world where I am educated enough to know that this is only my dream and probably should not be my reality. Amy’s Ice Cream is top notch! They are doing it right! I wish I could have their treats everyday and every minute. I have actually only ever been to this Amy’s location and every time it has been a pure delight. They employees greet you with such positive energy and are clearly having a good time and loving their job. I also love Amy’s because of the creativity and willingness to branch out on the flavors. They take risks for sure. I will admit I am not usually all that risky in my ice cream selections, but you can totally taste test it before you commit. My most recent visit I got the lemon cheesecake with graham cracker crushins in a waffle cone … OMG it was soooo amazingly awesome! My other half got the pumpkin ice cream with peanut butter cups. His was tasty too! Again — I love ice cream! Ice cream you scream we all want/love ice cream! Amy — I will be back soonish! Until them my sweet yummy friend.

Amy’s is without a doubt the best Ice Cream in town. Its one of those Austin staples that you almost want to not like because everyone likes it so much and feels the need to tell you about it all the time. You’d need to be a much better snob than me to hate on Amy’s because the Ice Cream is just sooo goood! Last time I was there I had the Pumpkin flavor with peanut butter cup mix ins. It was pretty amazing. There’s something about the way peanut butter and chocolate pair with pumpkin that makes my taste buds dance like fairies in a garden. The employes are so friendly and so much fun, every time I get Ice Cream at Amy’s. Just making my ice cream cone turns into an epic show! Amy’s is a great place to go to anytime, because well anytime is always a good time for ice cream!

Gotta get the Mexican Vanilla! My coworker told me about this and I thought, «Yeah, whats the big deal, it’s vanilla». Oh no, no, no. Totally different tasting. Very nice and creamy. Ever since then I’ve ordered it every time I come to Austin and eat it at least twice on my visits. I also hit it up at the airport. Last time I also got the Mango, honey, and pepper sorbet. I’m not a sorbet fan but this was VERY good. You taste the mango and then you feel the little pepper kick after you swallow it. It’s not hot so don’t worry about it burning your mouth. I was told they did tricks. Went with a coworker and they did one with his ice cream but not mine. I prefer that people don’t play with my food so I was glad they didn’t do any tricks with my ice cream. One of the reason I don’t like going to Benihana’s or those teppanyaki places — tossing my food and $hit like that.

At the Central Market area location. I’ve been a faithful Amy’s customer for over 20 years. This icecream is, and always has been delicious. However, there’s currently an employee, whose name is Kathryn(that’s what it says on her hat,) who is obnoxiously loud with her personal conversation with a fellow employee. She’s not saying anything inappropriate, but she’s ridiculously LOUD! Every customer sitting in here has looked up at her multiple times, to see who the annoying, loud girl behind the counter, is. Maybe take it down a couple of notches? Your customer service is fantastic, but this ice cream just isn’t as delicious when I can’t even hear the person in front of me, or enjoy my sweet cream with cinnamon, over the constant, intense sound of high pitch squawking. Seriously.

I literally love Amy’s ice-cream! This is hands down my favorite ice cream place to go to. The Mexican vanilla flavor is to die for. It is my go to flavor with some fresh cut strawberries that add the perfect touch. I’ve been coming here for quite a while now and the staff is always super fun, and energetic. I love how they always switch up the themes and create different mixes and flavors every week. I’ve gotten all of my friends and family to love this place, and they keep on coming here. I totally recommend this place if your sweet tooth is craving some yummy ice cream. :D

Overall: Delicious, flavorful ice cream with great service. Ice cream: Pick your flavor and your mix ins(it’s similar to Marble Slab/Coldstone Creamery… but better.) Some flavors have a little hooch mixed in(Grand Mariner & Tequila were on the menu at my visit.) Other good options including Coffee w/Twix(hey, free mix in!), Mexican vanilla, Sweet Cream, Mango & Dark Chocolate. All are rich, creamy and full of flavor so be sure to taste before you chose. Service: Everyone was friendly and they will let you taste until you find one you like. Cost: A little more than your average ice cream shop. A medium(i believe they call it «small»… but it’s far from it) with a mix in was about $ 4.50.

Amy’s is amazing ice cream. It is an adventurer’s dream. You can go in and create the most random combinations. I love that any time I go in the flavors are different. My most recent crush are the milkshakes, they are like taking the ice cream and multiplying it by 1 million. If you like ice cream look no further than Amy’s.
