Service was not great at all — nobody was happy to be working there or wanted to answer my questions. Food was cold and the bowl was barely half full. When I told the older gentlemen about the bowl, the teenagers serving said it was only half full because I didn’t get beans and he was ok with that. The food was good, but nothing to make it stand out or better than any other similar place.

The brisket is clearly their pride and joy, and indeed it is pretty tasty so this really needs to be the first thing you try when you come here! They have Nopalitos as a topping, and also potatoes, as well as a few different sauces to choose from. I liked that they had a Maine root soda machine, and also bonus points for having a kiddie corner with TVs and really nice planted patio which had a surprisingly nice ambiance for a burrito joint. I got a brisket bowl and liked it very much after a long day outdoors. This place has some unique offerings when it comes to being a build your own burrito place, so I was kinda sad to see it somewhat slow at dinnertime, Sunday night, though it was nice to get served and seated quickly, something that seems to be becoming a rarity these days. It would definitely become one of our regular meal spots if it was closer to home, but we’re really only in the Bee Cave area a few times a year, and I think that goes for a lot of Austinites who would love this place.

The service is ok, nobody seems to excited to be here and isn’t super excited about being helpful. The tortillas, although removed from sort of warmer and stacked on the assembly line, are not so awesome. They’re not necessarily bad, per se, they just have a weird consistency and the flavor seems processed. The insides of the burrito: Brisket — nice flavor. Tasty and good. Not too dry, not too greasy Beans — I got black beans. They were good. It’s pretty hard to screw up black beans. Cilantro Rice — flavorless Now, the guacamole — THAT is tasty! I would get that if I ever came back. They do offer Queso Fresco as a cheese choice and I love that! Overall, this isn’t a place I’d rush to come back to, but, if in the neighborhood, I’ll check out their queso next time and be sure to get some of this really good guac.

For a casual lunch spot, this restaurant is great! It is owned by a local family and has an Austin flare. Much better than a Chipotle. They offer about 3 times the variety of toppings and ingredients, such as barbecue brisket, nopal iris, Mexican potatoes, etc. Great selection of local beers and ciders as well.

The build your own bowl/burrito is really a great concept! I love that I can try different combinations of meat, cheese and vegetables and everything is super fresh. I recommend Austin Burrito Company and encourage you to find the combinations you’ll love.

It’s about time we got a GREAT Burrito place in Lakeway! Fantastic brisket, great selection of food, great friendly staff, fun atmosphere and reasonable pricing. Locally owned, fresh ingredients! A great place for great food! I’ve been four times. Love me some Austin Burrito Company!

Such fresh ingredients! I love that you can design your own burritos and street tacos just the way you want them. I’m extremely picky with my tacos and I must say these were amazing. And the tortillas were perfect! I have dietary restrictions(not of my own design) and they were very helpful. Wonderful staff.

Same concept as Chipotle or Freebirds. The burritos are ginormous. Ate twice last week and tried their steak burrito and bbq burrito. Both were solid. The fillings are great. I like the fact they have different types of rice and even mexican style potatoes. The sauces are really good. The hottest one is seriously hot. This is going to be regular spot for a quick meal. BTW., they have great kids meals — kid-sized burritos, quesadillas or tacos with a side of apples or grapes plus a milk. Good value.

All around awesome. The smoked brisket is magically delicious, it’s seriously Texas BBQ restaurant quality. The burritos are a good size and they customize it to your liking. Love the fact that you can add potatoes to your burrito which you never see. Their salsas are also truly amazing and they give you free chips to go with it. The place runs efficiently and the service was fast and friendly. I only wish they served regular soft drinks rather than the Mexican coke variety. There’s plenty of seating and they even have a spacious outdoor patio. This place is a true gem for the Galleria area which in my opinion is seriously lacking in good restaurants.

Wow. Talk about action packed burritos! They’re huge and delicious. The guacamole with pumpkin seeds made to order was so yum. Fast food with handmade guacamole? Amazing right? Plus a special«perrito burrito» made our little pup very happy. Others in our group swooned over the brisket burrito and the steak in their burrito bowl. We will definitely be back.

Good burrito with lots of options for fillers. The staff is very courteous and friendly. They made sure we were happy with our order and asked multiple times if we needed anything else. They have a nice ambience with a corner dedicated to kids that has a barstools and tvs.

I was so excited for months for this place to open! And I went around 7pm with my best friend and we were so excited. The service was more than slow and no one was even in there. We user stood because they are new. Then the food. We literally threw it out. It was dry and flavorless. He had a chicken burrito and I had brisket. Very disappointed. Maybe we will try again in a few months.

First, the food is delicious! I had the smoked brisket. However, it is very slow. I also had the bowl because they were out of tortillas for burritos. My husband had wanted white meat chicken. They were out of that. They had a kitchen full of employees. However, it appeared that only three people(the owners and another woman) were actually doing anything. The owner was fulfilling the orders. He would leave the line to go get more beans, rice, etc. I felt like he should have asked one of the employees that was just standing around to do that. Anyway, it is slow. Don’t go expecting it to be a smooth, quick experience. Also, be open to change your order because they might be out of something. Otherwise, the food was very, very good. The owners seem nice. The place is cute. I really hope they get the glitches worked out. I want them to be a huge success!

Big burritos very high ingredient quality with wonderful choices This is a build your own burrito spot however unlike the big corporate spots you have about three times the choices in almost every category for meat to the actual toppings This is my first time here and I am thrilled living in the hill country area it’s a bit hard to find some truly good Austin original food spots Well the spot is and I will be back for a traditional Barito however it being my first time here the owner was happy enough to serve us and explained that he makes the beef brisket himself, this is of course classic Texas brisket but it wasn’t fatty and it was not too salty for my personal taste I will be back fingers crossed that quality will stay the same as long as it does I have found my new burrito spot.

We tried to go there before they opened, then tried again for lunch before they started lunch service, but finally got to try it out last week for dinner. I had the brisket bowl with ALL the accouterments while my hubby had the chicken bowl with grilled veggies. Both were wonderful, but the brisket deserves its own 5 Stars! It is much better than most of the local barbecue places’. And the owner, Bryan Walker, came out busing tables and requested our input on how to make things even better, although there was little to improve besides more seating! This is a wonderful addition to the restaurants in the area, reminding me of All Star Burger across the street in being locally owned and operated, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and being super healthy while still being delicious. Also, both have friendly, involved, caring owners!

I wanted to like this place, but our experience was a bit underwhelming. The atmosphere is good, everyone is really nice and friendly, but my burrito was just ok. I got brisket with black beans, Monterey Jack, and guacamole — the tortilla was kind of dry and whoever wrapped it needed a lesson on the proper technique. The beans were undercooked– like crunchy. I understand they are going through growing pains and I see the potential. Others in my group got chicken and said it was amazing. Steak was good too. I will go back, just when things run a bit smoother. It’s nice to have an option like that here in lakeway — we need more places to grub

What a surprise. I was hoping Austin Burrito Company would be awesome, but being the food snob that I am, I never expected it to be this good. Almost as important as the food, it’s dog friendly. There is a huge covered outdoor space. My dog Scooter was even served her own Cheese/rice taco, compliments of the chef! Austin Burrito is probably listed as fast food, but the food quality is super upscale. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant!
