This place has my number. It’s at a golf resort, so of course it’s a nice physical space, with couches, lounge seating, tables, and the bar. There’s a section off the main room that’s a little quieter, and then another section that has pool and table shuffleboard. Very versatile. I was here for a conference and used the bar to network, party, and just hang out. But what made the experience excellent was the bartender, Joshua, who was not only expert in his knowledge and execution but seemed genuinely excited for us to try new things. I had a lot of old fashioneds, and tried a couple types of whiskey based on his recommendations, as well as a very good local beer. The people around us who took the time to ask also got well informed advice about vodkas and other things. Well done, Joshua. Sure, the drinks were kind of expensive(tip is always included, which is nice), but you’re at a freaking golf resort – they COULD be charging you $ 12 for a terrible cocktail. Instead, they’re charging you $ 12 for a great cocktail, and giving you a great place to be for basically any type of social interaction. Win.

I came to this golf resort not expecting much in the way of a good bar or good food. For the most part though, they’ve won me over. Barton’s in particular is a great bar and the bartenders are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to cocktails and local craft beers. For the reasons I’ll outline below, I think this is definitely a five-star resort bar. I ordered one of my favorites(a Sidecar) and Joshua suggest a «Ginger Sidecar». Intrigued, I decided to order one. It was fantastic… definitely the best sidecar I’ve had. Joshua in particular takes particular time to understand and learn about the spirits he is serving up and I really appreciate that. Beyond the drinks, the bar is a fun place to hang out. They’ve got a nice little shuffle-board game and a pool table to entertain you and your friends. This bar gets really crowded late enough, but it is also just a nice place to sit and have a conversation in the earlier hours(they open at 4PM… stop giving me those looks). Hope you enjoy it and definitely try the ginger sidecar if you’re interested in those kinds of things…

My fiancé and I came here after dining at the 8212 Bar & Grill downstairs(see separate review of 8212), and we truly enjoyed the atmosphere. They were running happy hour 4pm to 7pm($ 1 off any drink or wine by the glass and $ 2.50 draft beers.) I ordered a Belvedere martini straight up, a little dirty, and the bartender made it perfectly. My fiancé ordered the GIANT Texas margarita which is $ 15 usually($ 14 on happy hour) and it was made very well. It’s the size of 2 drinks so it’s worth it. Plus, you feel like you’re drinking out of a fishbowl(shaped like a martini of course). We enjoyed this place mostly because it has shuffleboard and a pool table, and it’s close to our home which is cool. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive, definitely will come back. The only thing I wish they offered was half price appetizers. I think it would bring a larger crowd in. Usually it’s just country club members(i.e. old dudes who play golf) but we didn’t mind because the games and atmosphere was fun.
