The Donna Summer(sausage), Gloria Gaynor(with eggs), and the Aretha Franklin(sausage + bacon) are the best ones on the menu. Although, there is no wrong choice because the biscuits and gravy are great. It is not a ‘light’ meal by any means, so get ready for an intense food coma.

Is there anything more Austin-y than a food truck that serves biscuits and gravy? The answer is no. This is a great place to grab some hot and fresh biscuits and gravy. However, make sure you’re not in a rush, because they make everything fresh to order so it takes a little bit of time. All of the biscuit and gravy selections sound amazing and they really load up your plate. The thing I loved most about this place was that you could substitute meat for a vegetarian option. And even though the carnivorous side of me doesn’t want to admit it, I thought the vegetarian option was just as good if not better than the sausage gravy.

I love this place because it’s as good for veggies(and even vegans) as it is for bacon lovers. They have two gravies, one is veggie and the other vegan. They even have vegan sausage. I don’t even like biscuits and I like theirs so I don’t understand Tyler’s review. There is a lot of food for a reasonable price and you can customize it a hundred ways. One thing that recent reviews didn’t mention – they make a different jelly every day and those jellies are bizarre and phenomenal(wait for the carrot cake jelly or maybe it’s really jam – amazing). The people behind the window are helpful, patient, and friendly – they are happy to take your order and tell you to come back later for pick-up so I go off and get gas or pick up dry cleaning, etc. There is often a wait, traffic can be dangerous(51st is a busy street during peak periods and the three way stops are hard to figure out) and parking is difficult(I always feel compelled to buy something if I park in the convenience store across the street – but they have a little picnic table and always say yes if I ask if I can park there). I live close by so I always take it to go. A true Austin institution and I am not easily impressed.

Came here for a quick breakfast a couple weeks ago. DELICIOUS! I got the village biscuits. It could’ve had a little more sausage on it but still was delicious! Highly recommend.

My brave comrades and I weathered this chilly Austin afternoon to have lunch at Biscuits and Groovy after a morning of meetings. This food truck is located at the intersection of 51st and Duvall; parking is limited and your best bet is parallel parking in the surrounding neighborhood. There were options ranging from three biscuit entrees to single biscuits meals. I opted for the M.C. Hammer: one biscuit with eggs, cheese, and choice of maple bacon or sausage(and gravy upon request). It was great! Food arrived hot and mouth-watering tasty. The bacon was cooked PERFECTLY and the biscuit was fluffy and buttery. I also got some fresh-squeezed orange juice based upon recommendations. SOGOOD. It literally tasted like I was sucking on an actual orange, definitely the real thing and so worth it. The truck is in close proximity to a bike shop, a yoga studio, and Flightpathi Coffee(the last location has a restroom, should you need one). I can’t wait to go back; though, I might wait for a warm, sunshiney day :)

Really delicious biscuits & gravy with several options to choose from(but not so many that it overwhelms you). Super reasonably priced, friendly service and great for curing a hangover. Not sure what more I could have asked for from this cute little food truck.

I actually heard about this place from Unilocal,so I think I now need to write my own review. got the Village Biscuits, and wow they were hot, delicious, fresh, and in my mouth within 10 minutes. The people working there were very friendly too. I need to go back and try more of their menu!

I want to like this place. I’ve tried to like this place. Lord knows I love biscuits and gravy– it’s one of my favorite comfort dishes. But for the life of me, I will never understand the hype behind this place. Biscuits and Groovy can’t even get their namesake right. I am 99% sure their gravy is made from hot water + mccormick’s country gravy powdered mix. WTF? (aside that you can definitely skip: You know how when you go to the frozen chicken section of HEB to get some late night Tyson bullshit chicken snack, and you see«Tsyon Wyngz» and you read the disclaimer about how they legally have to call them Wyngz because they contain 0% wing meat? Sometimes I wonder if it’s the same idea with Biscuits and Groovy, where they can’t say gravy because their product doesn’t meet the requirements of what legally constitutes gravy. «we serve… Groovy here») And the biscuits are so mediocre and unremarkable. It’s painstaking. Both dishes are so simple to make, and with the smallest amount of effort, reliably easy to make delicious. It blows my mind how the cornerstone of everything they serve can be so underwhelming. B&G is a great place to go if you need to eat food, and just want a big heaping serving of hot messy something to fill your gut. It’s a fine place if it’s nearby from you, and you want to hang outside on a nice day, sippin a beer bought from duval market and are okay eating a gas station styled egg dish. It is fine if you have zero expectations. If you want really good biscuits and gravy check out: Dai Due, Gravy food truck, Hi Hat

I wanted to see what this place was about. I have a dairy allergy and have been missing biscuits and gravy. I ordered the Johnny hash with vegan biscuits and gravy and real meat(sausage and bacon) skip the cheese. It was soooo hot and oooey gooey perfectness. It moaned at every single bite. Yummmm ummmm ummm! This is for sure one of the best things I have eaten. Did not taste nasty vegan or anything. Vegan cheese tastes horrible to me. But this was happiness. The cashier was super nice, friendly and cute. The cook was really nice and they were aware of what I could eat. And it was no big deal. I love this place. Parking is difficult but park in the market across the street. Construction is stupid crazy over on that corner. I will be back also I sampled the port wine jelly and the peach bourbon and they were magical

This place is amazing! Their biscuits are soft and tasty and they can make something basic and go all the way up to the«kitchen sink» if you will. My husband likes to get the Gloria Gaynor which has everything in it. I usually hold back the jalapenos and the bacon so I get something smaller but still equally as tasty. Go early because there is usually a line. If the weather is bad, layer up because there is very limited seating and it is all outside.

Who doesn’t like biscuits and gravy?! Who doesn’t like the 70’s and its grooviness?! Who doesn’t like waiting in long lines… just kidding. The benefit of coming here on Christmas Eve was that there wasn’t a long line. In the past every time I pass by Biscuits and Groovy there’s a line and the seating area is always full. Gotta love the Johnny Hash; those biscuits were piping hot and fresh. And the crispy maple bacon is a +1. Their fresh squeezed orange juice is the bomb(only available on weekends/holidays). Tip: bring your own beverage if you get thirsty since they don’t have water cups.

First off, the guys in the trailer were talking about the new Star Wars movie and gave away a bunch of spoilers that I had been successfully avoiding for the last three days. Thanks. I guess the food’s ok. You get a pretty dinky sausage portion(half of a thin patty) and it took 10 minutes to get the food out. Was hoping to find a b-tac contender but I think I’ll have to keep looking.

Gonna have to go FIVESTARS with this one. My wife and I have been coming here for two or three years, and it’s always delicious. My only regret is that I didn’t post a review sooner. I thought I had!!! And yet the evidence shows that I have not. Okay, so how do you review a place that serves a variety of biscuit and gravy dishes? It would be like saying«I like puppies.» It’s HOTBISCUITS. With GRAVY. And other stuff. Plenty of covered seating. Easy neighborhood parking, unlike many other food trucks. Friendly service. All this, plus biscuits. WIN. (I wish Flightpath Coffee would allow outside food into their coffeehouse… at least make an exception for Biscuits and Groovy peeps. They’d sell more coffee, if they gave a pass to B&G patrons. Cooperation ain’t just a river in Egypt, man.)

Holy bat shits! These things were rich bitches. But more importantly, they were amazeballs. These good ol’ SoCal city boys were in town for ACL for the weekend. We had an AIRBNB not too far away from Biscuits + Groovy so the guys took a nice stroll to grab some. Our first attempt was on a Saturday. We went a bit later in the day and the wait was a tad tremendous. Plus they were out of some ingredients, got wiped up like an n00b soloing a 1337 boss. Failed. Sunday, we had a better plan of attack. The guys set out a bit earlier in the AM. Within an hour, the boys scored four different orders to bring back to the pad. There were a total of five of us and let me tell you that three orders would’ve sufficed our hungers. For four, it came out to about $ 36. A bit much for just some biscuits, country gravy, and some random toppings you may say. Yeah, just a little bit but shit, we were on vacay and when you’re in Rome, you know what you need to do. These things are heavy and loaded. One person, one order, you’ll probably get a scolding from your personal physician on the next visit. The gravy is real thick but is exactly how I envision that country gravy to be. You just want to lather that thang and moisturize it into your biscuits like nobody’s business. You would think drowning that carb with the gravy would make it real soggy but to my surprise, the biscuits were still intact and crunchy. The toppings are really what you make of it. Whether it be bacon, sausage, cheese, eggs, fries, chives, beans, jalapenos. Are you disgusted yet? It was breakfast time so I was partial with the eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese, and chives style toppings. Nearly two full biscuits(they split the biscuit into halves) into this hot mess, my appetite came to a screeching halt. I officially hit a brick wall. I think the boys felt the same because we still had a good amount left. Three orders for this party of five would’ve probably been the right amount. If you’re around Biscuits + Groovy or just visiting Austin for whatever reason, give it a shot. I will forewarn you to come early especially on the weekends. You may have to wait a little while. Unless you really are planning to go beast mode, don’t order 1:1 ratio. I apologize for not remembering what exactly we ordered, but I can tell you they all had catchy names. You best truly enjoy baked buttermilk biscuits and white pepper gravy because this is what they’re all about here.

Enjoyed it! This experience was just as funky as what I was expecting from a place called biscuits and groovy. First off, there is no parking at the location, you get to venture out into the neighborhood to find a an open curb to park on. Challenge accepted, fortunately I was early so it wasn’t to much of an adventure. I arrived at the place just as they opened, yeah first in line. The staff was friendly and I ordered a MC Hammer with sausage and added home fries and a side of gravy. I got my number and sat at one of the benches and enjoyed the cool weather and people watched. It took about 20 minutes to get my food, not a problem, good food takes a little time. This isn’t a fast food place, it’s real food. I watched about 40 people order in that time frame. Thus place does some business for sure. My food was very good. I wish I had gotten the bacon, not that the sausage wasn’t good, it was, but I spent 20 minutes smelling the most delicious maple bacon smell and it drove me crazy. Next time bacon, for sure. The experience was very nice and reminded me why I enjoy living here.

I have been wanting to try this place for years. YEARS. I have no idea why it took me so long, bit I finally made it and I got some delicious biscuits and gravy. Like most every other born and raised Texan, I love biscuits and gravy. This is probably a surprise, because I hate bread, but I make an exception for some carbs slathered with delicious gravy. Who can resist that? The man working the counter was very upfront about the wait when we first stopped by to order and told us we could come back in 40 minutes and there probably wouldn’t be a wait. Since we were going to Flightpath anyway, this was no problem and I appreciated the honesty. When we finally made our way back, I went with The Village biscuits, which consist of three buttermilk biscuits smothered in white pepper gravy, sausage, colby jack cheese, jalapeños, and chives. It was DELICIOUS. The man even asked me if I wanted a lot of jalapeños — of course I did — and they did not let me down. I ate almost all of it because, let’s face it, three biscuits is a lot of food. I am sad that they forgot to put any chives on mine, but that’s okay. It was still really good. Now to find a way to be in this area for breakfast more often…

Saucy! I’m so impressed with this food truck! Not being from Austin, I was amazed to see all the food trucks ’round these parts ;-) And fell in love with Biscuits & Groovy. Everything on the menu can be ordered as the vegan version! Wow! They have vegan bacon, vegan sausage, vegan biscuits, and vegan gravy! The choices are all the names of famous groovy singers like Johnny Cash and Aretha Franklin. If you come here often, but aren’t vegan, I highly recommend that you order something vegan one day because this is a GREAT example of how delicious vegan food can be. Light, fluffy, buttery biscuits with slightly sweet gravy that’s not too floury. The staff are super down to earth and incredibly friendly. It’s nice to be remembered after only a few times of showing your face. :-) If you’re a morning person then you should try to get here early because this little truck is darn popular and seating in the shade goes fast! This will be one of my favorite memories from Austin, Texas for sure! Oh! And you MUST try the fresh squeezed orange juice! It’s a winner!

A solid 5, because Biscuits & Groovy adds a unique flair to a standard breakfast dish. I must admit that the concept is simple yet clever, but still makes me wonder: why has no one else thought of this! Also, probably the best biscuits & gravy I’ve had. All of the options on the menu sounds so delicious — you really can’t go wrong here. I mean biscuits and gravy topped with either bacon, egg, chorizo, or home fries, all sound freakin’ fantastic. My bf and I got the Aretha Franklin, which was uh-may-zing! What I love about Biscuits & Groovy is that it isn’t overwhelming. One serving is definitely enough for two people, too. Each dish may offer a lot of awesome toppings, but it’s not one of those heart attack nachos that has too much going on. The proportions of toppings to biscuits was perfect, but could have used a tad bit more gravy.
