I loved this place. I got a wild hair up my ass to build and upholster a headboard for my bed.(I blame Pinterest). I went to a few fabric stores but wasn’t finding exactly what I wanted. Bolt does have a small selection of in-stock fabrics, but they can order almost anything, and they have tons of unique options. I found the ladies working there to be very helpful with making my choice and figuring out how much I would need, and I think their prices are competitive. You do have to pay for shipping and it takes longer to get in than other places in town, but I think if you add the price per yard + shipping it comes out about the same. Thanks, Bolt! I’ll post pics when I finish this damn thing.

The salesperson was really helpful and they are able to give swatches of any in-stock fabric which is a huge help in deciding. They have a beautiful selection of neutrals and funky stuff and everything is high quality. They weren’t able to definitively recommend an upholstery service but I can use Unilocal for that. Def recommend.

I had such a wonderful experience last weekend when I re-upholstered two dining room chairs for the first time. I didn’t have much experience but the woman who worked there held my hand through the whole process. She gave me a lesson on colors(there are more than 6 of them?!), fetched a dozen fabrics, each one better than the one before, gave me a tutorial on the upholstery job I was doing, made sure I had all my materials, and let me borrow her staple gun to boot. I wish I had more fabric needs because this is the type of business I want to support.

Went to Austin to visit my sister and I «discovered» this F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S fabric store. Can I just say that the staff was helpful and professional and the store was neat, bright and clean and full of WONDERFUL fabrics — unique and not run-of-the mill! I found the displays to be welcoming and easy to view the different fabrics. This place is a diamond waiting to be discovered for those of us who still love to bring bright, original looks to our homes and offices. I plan to tell all of my Dallas design friends about this place. Five stars. BTW — very reasonably priced, quality fabrics!

Bolt Fabrics is the new-and-improved Fanny’s Fabrics. As an interior designer and longtime fan of Fanny’s, I was thrilled when someone relaunched the business after Fanny’s closed. The store carries home décor fabrics that you often don’t see elsewhere – it’s my go-to spot for mid-century-inspired and modern options. Working with everyone there is a total breeze. This is not the kind of place where they are just glad to make a few bucks off you – they’re really interested in their customers and all things home décor – they seem to take a more personal interest in their customers’ projects. In addition to their in-stock selection, they can special order a ton of designer fabrics and if you tell them the color, style and price you’re looking for, they can save you a lot of time by telling you exactly which swatch books to take a look at.
