Well Done! Smoke on the pork was perfect, ribs fall off bone, sides and cobble divine. Oh and don’t forget the brisket … hint of pecan and just the right amount of fat to make me want more. The«good-ol-boys» running the trailer are fun and personable. Defiantly gonna be back.

This place is delicious! Just a couple blocks walk from where we were staying and well worth it. BBQ Smoke accompanied with tunes coming out of their speaker. Fall of the bone ribs with great seasoning and is made even better with their sauce that doesn’t overtake the flavor, but enhances it. My favorite… The Chili! A MUSTORDER! Owner recommends getting the cheese whiz tater tots from another truck and putting the the chili on top. Definitely on the next go round. Cole Slaw. One of the best that I’ve had. Topped it all off with their smoked peach cobbler. I wanted 2 more servings. Food — Check. Service — Check. Atmosphere — Check. Satisfaction — Check.

Great food truck! I give them a four because… While their ribs were phenomenal, their brisket was great but somewhat dry, and their prices were slightly high for a food truck.

The good: The brisket is a solid 4 stars. Very tasty and what one expects at the least when getting good brisket here in atx. Normally I prefer bbq sauce with mine and in this case it was fine without it, which is a compliment. I cleaned the plate on that. The blasting pink floyd was nice too. The bad: Who in Texas screws up chili? –especially chili made out of decently smoked brisket? It was literally inedible. The only thing you could taste was the orange salt paste it was simmered and slathered in. The brisket might as well have been soggy wood chips, it wouldn’t have mattered. It tasted like salt mud with a hint of red pepper. I have not had worse in Austin at all. Ten dollars right into the trash on that. The place needs cleaning. The tray of silverware to choose from was so dirty from just sitting outside day and night that you could see the film of car exhaust, dust and fly crap all over it. I used my gf’s silverware from her thai food from the trailer behind this place, which was clean. With that said, the food did not make me sick… so that at least says something. The inedible chili and the dirt needs to be resolved before I give a better rating than this. Oh…and the options to tip 15, 20 or 30 percent sucks. It should be set as a dollar amount when it is the type of place that tips are not expected(wait staff making less than minimum wage). A plate of brisket, one chili and one side of potato salad and a coke ran me around 25 bucks… for me alone, with tip. Too much money for what was served… by far, especially since the chili had to go in the trash.

I think these past negative reviews are very misleading. Perhaps they would be better off eating at Bill Miller or Rudy’s. We Were fortunate enough to meet with Sean the owner. The ribs were the best that we have ever had. The meat fell right off the bone and was full of flavor. The brisket sandwich was amazing. Sean gave us a sample of both the cheddar jalapeño sausage and the turkey. I have always been a fan of Elgin and Lockhart barbecue. But now I will be making a frequent trip to E6th St to enjoy much better barbecue. Thanks for the great hospitality Sean and you will be seeing my wife and I very very soon.

Very good BBQ. I had the brisket, was very very good. My friend had sausage sandwich. Good too. BBQ man said he makes the sausage, mixes it with cheese and jalepenos.

The ribs that were such lauded upon were a huge disappointment. They were fall off the bone soft but were way too over seasoned. I couldn’t taste the flavor of the meat and I didn’t like the saltiness. The brisket was alright, nothing special, somewhat bland. The sausage had a nice spicy kick but were too dry on the inside with no meaty juices at all. What got me turned off from the beginning were the meager portions of onions and pickles that I asked for. We bought 4 pounds of meat for 6 people and was only given 7 pieces of bread– not even enough for 6 sandwiches! When I asked for more, I was denied because«there is a fixed amount of bread» allocated to each order. Not that the barbecue was any cheaper than the other more well known food trucks. I won’t be back.

I found Brisket Boy’s Bar-B-Q on Unilocal and saw the high rating. I was planning an event for 50 people and wanted to give them a Texas BBQ experience. I contacted Sean(via phone and email since I work in another state) and worked with him on a menu and ticket system. He had great suggestions in the planning. He was there to greet my guests and let them have tasters on the different offerings. I couldn’t have picked a better place and partnership for our event. The food was highly praised. The Chili and Brisket were definitely the guest favorites. I tried the cobbler and couldn’t believe the flavor. I would have that everyday if I lived in Austin. I recommend this place to anyone visiting Austin. Go by and get a taster or two from Sean. Tell him Tonia sent you.

Gee what a let down. After all of the great reviews I was surprised how bad the Brisket was. In fact after a couple of bites I gave my to go bad to a homeless person, so it didn’t go to complete waste. The meat was really super fatty yet dry & somewhat flavorless. The super cool dude who took my order was the nicest guy though. Will try it one more time the next time I’m in the area, must have been a bad day and I’m willing to give them another chance no problem.

«There’s a problem with our ribs. They just won’t stay on the bone!» says the owner. He’s not lying. Come here. Get the ribs. That is all.

Incredible barbecue at very reasonable prices and no wait. The 2 meat plater with ribs and brisket is a good portion that won’t leaving you feeling disgustingly full. The ribs and briskets are well seasoned and smoked. You can tell they really pride themselves in the quality of the product and how much time they put into it. The brisket sandwich is also pretty good. It has pickles and jalapeños inside. Food comes out pretty fast(like minutes). I didn’t have any line for ordering on a Saturday afternoon. Staff is really friendly. There are a few picnic tables outside you can sit in but it’s a pretty sparse food truck park.

I know there is a bunch of choices for BBQ& brisket in Austin but do yourself a favor and don’t miss this one! Now located at the corner of 6th and Waller be sure to stop by and try some of the wonderful smoked goodness these guys are offering! Pork ribs fall off the bone — literally clean off the bone! The brisket is moist and unbelievably tender and flavorful. I loved the potato salad it’s one of the better ones around. They make it themselves and also use their own rub and sauce recipe. Even more amazing is the brisket chilli. It’s basically a cup of meat part taken from the smoked brisket and cooked in a nice thick well seasoned tomato sauce — it’s outstanding! Everything is reasonably priced and you can’t beat the hospitality. I’m so glad we just happened to stop and chat with these guys! They sure know a thing or two about meat.

I didn’t even realize this food truck park was there! It was a very cold day and as I approached the owner of the truck was really friendly and said it’s a good day for brisket chili! Who am I to argue? So, I let him give me a taste test! Um, sold, wow who would have thought brisket chili? I opted for the large bowl and also ordered their coleslaw and potato salad. This is how I judge all bbq, can you make brisket, is your coleslaw store bought and is your potato salad going to rock my world? The brisket chili flavor wasn’t traditional chili and that is a good thing. It was hearty and the bowl was packed with chucks of brisket. The coleslaw was definitely home made and I enjoyed the spot of sugar and dill in it. The potato salad was the best I have had in years. I also had a taste of the cobbler which is made in the smoker. It tasted like fruit sandwiched in by two sugar cookies(I don’t event like dessert and I liked this). It is served cold which is a bit different but, it works! There is plenty of picnic tables at this food trailer park and they have a tent over them so, that would come in handy during the hot summer. Shout out to the owner of this truck! His only goal is to feed the masses some good down home bbq and I love seeing someone who is passionate about what they are doing! He came out and talked to Erica V. and I about his food, his smoker, brought us small samples of the ribs, brisket, turkey, etc. This is some above and beyond customer service. From the samples I can tell you to order the ribs too!!! Just order a huge plate of meat and you will be happy! If you are looking for one of the hidden gems that serves better bbq than most in the city, this is the spot for you to check out!

Brisket Boy’s Bar-B-Q has moved out of Elgin and into a slim trailer park, accessible through the alley off Navasota St, next to Vintage Heart Coffee. The owner, Sean, is a really nice guy and is passionate about his food. This is some of the least expensive well prepared BBQ you will find in Austin. Everything is smoked with pecan tree wood, which imparts an incomparable slightly nutty, smoky flavor. The pork ribs were succulent and my favorite– great flavor and fall off the bone tender. The brisket also had bold flavor and a noticeable deep red ring, though I prefer my fat so rendered it’s jelly. The smoked turkey was peppery, savory, and supple. There was more flavor and texture than I’m use to in turkey, that I briefly considered whether there was some new pig-poultry hybrid breed I hadn’t heard of. Yet, the sleeper was definitely the brisket chili, intense spices, no beans, and chock full of meaty bites of brisket. I wish there were options to dress it up a bit, maybe add some freshness. The smoked peach cobbler served cold was tasty. The cobbler topping reminded me of a sugar cookie and the faintly smoked disintegrating peaches underneath kept it stimulating and not too sweet. $ 1 off with Unilocal check in, too! To sum it up: no lines, open evenings, and an enthusiastic, adept proprietor with delicious food!

Although his name is brisket boy bbq, ironically brisket is the anchor on his menu. I was unimpressed as it seemed that they weren’t cooked long enough that the layer of fat was too intact. But my Gawd were those good ribs sensational! oh so tender, oh so perfect, simply slid right into your mouth. No sauce needed as they had the absolute perfect dry rub with a deep smoke ring perforated into the flesh. On my long drive back to Chicago, I only hope that my GF doesn’t realize how much I’m fantasizing about them ;)

Delicious BBQ! We had the brisket, chopped beef, ribs, cole slaw, potato salad and smoked peach cobbler. The ribs were SOGOOD. I wanted to keep eating them! They were so tender and the rub was delicious. The brisket and chopped beef were also really good. The smoked peach cobbler surprised us by being chilled rather than warm, but the flavor was incredible. The crumble top was perfect and there was just a hint of smokiness that was the perfect dessert to go with the delicious BBQ. Next time I’m in Austin, I’m definitely going back!

O my lord this place is good. The ribs literally melt off the bone, the sausage is smoky and perfect and the brisket is magical. This is the best barbecue I’ve had in Austin and that’s saying a lot. The owner, Sean, is also awesome. Highly recommend this place

Best food in Elgin by far, one of the top BBQ places I’ve been to in all of Texas. Everything I’ve had here has been fantastic, even things that are normally hideously butchered in a BBQ joint. The thing I most often find wrong in a BBQ place is turkey– it’s so easy to turn it into a dry, dusty, sad meal. Brisket Boys turkey GLISTENED– no joke, it was shimmering like a teenage vampire in the sun– with moisture. The ribs fell off the bone to the point it was comical trying to eat it, the brisket sandwich was juicy, moist, packed with flavor, and if you get a chance to have the smoked peach cobbler warm, it’s one of the best desserts I’ve had in a decade– a really good peach cobbler with this wonderful depth and umami from the smoke I’ve never had in a sweet dish before. Outstanding. Also, the sides are solid and delicious– good enough that my cabbage-hating child ate the coleslaw. A choir of angels sang at that miracle, but I was a little sad because I was totally going to eat her coleslaw, and didn’t get a chance. The bacon infused potato salad is also really good, and the beans are OK, but I don’t like beans, so the fact that I’ve eaten them probably says more about how good the food is, in general, than the things I love to eat that I happily devour here. If this food truck was in Austin, the line would be half an hour to an hour long, and there’d be endless buzz. I’m glad it’s just down the road from me in Elgin so I can pop in and out. I’ve gone to almost every restaurant in Elgin since I’ve moved here, and this is, by far, the best food in town.
